Yeah, he was clearly tricking people with his blatantly racist and sexist alt right viewpoints.

It amazes me how people have now gone back and whitewashed Jon's antics to act like he didn't say some outright heinous shit. He's made no apology for his actions, he's just outright pretending they never happened, and it's disgusting because what he said was disgusting.

Fine, I'll drop it, but I still take exception to the comment that Jon was somehow "tricking people" into thinking he was a Nazi.

Honestly I'm of the belief that that whole debacle screwed with Jon's head completely and now he's just trying anything to get back on his feet. He's the Sonic Team of internet personalities.

He'd been heading in this direction for a while now, it was just mostly restricted to movies and stuff.

Jon in the past did make some really odd racist jokes like in Game Grumps. That's why the presumption is that he was always like this.

That Previously people assumed he had abrasive sense of humor, now they assume differently when he seriously made offensive statements

My view is that he said some stupid shit, apologized for it, and is trying to put it behind him. It's old news and constantly going on about how he's racist or sexist or a nazi is beating a dead horse.

Except he didn't.

He made a video months ago apologizing for it. I honestly can't be upset with some things a youtuber said several months ago especially with the whole signore thing.

Apology honestly isn't the correct word it's more of him clarifying his point which you still may or may not agree with.

He didn't apologize in it. He tried to downplay his actions while still defending himself. That's already been discussed several pages ago.

Yeah, that's not an apology. That's not even an explanation. It's an attempt at a dodge from someone who has lost control of the narrative and been seen for who they really are.

It did feel like an incomplete way to address the issue. I'm in the boat that hopes that he realizes what he did back there was a mistake, and we can all forget about it.

Haven't watched his videos since; been putting them on the backburner.

I've flat-out dropped him. Where I was once amused by him, I now feel disgust when I see his videos pop up in my recommendations.

In the interest of full disclosure, I never watched Game Grumps, so I didn't know about his racism from that until I looked into it more when he let it infect his solo brand.

Honestly I still prefer this to the time Pogo outed himself as a misogynist. While in the former's case, I love the guy's music but now whenever I listen to it all I can think about is him going "durr women aren't oppressed lol". With Jon, I haven't gone back to his old videos pre-Destiny and I haven't enjoyed most of his content since Destiny, so I don't really have that problem.

I think all this outrage would be better utilized (at least for those of you in the US) calling your Senators to support Senator Chris Murphy's bill he's introducing this week, preventing our trigger-happy government & military from striking North Korea without authorization from the legislative branch, or NK attacking first.

People were on-topic just a page ago. Reaffirming your conviction that you won't watch videos from a racist internet clown because of drama from over half a year ago, who can't even put out videos at a frequent enough pace to be promoted by youtube's algorithm, changes nothing, and is a colossal waste of everyone's time, including yours.

Move on to a thread about a show you watch, please. Thanks.

Honest to god, this thread should be locked, but the mods appear to be looking the other way.

It was derailed by the post at the top of this page, and people told the person who responded then to knock it off.

Nobody who watches Jon's show watches it for his political views. You're wasting your time thinking that's going to change by dragging this through the mud. Again, migrate to a thread about a show you actually watch, and let the thread about discussing Jonton videos be a place about discussing Jontron videos.

It started before that with somebody outright saying Jon was only pretending to be a Nazi, I responded to counter it and I admittedly came off a bit harsh. Then it stopped for a bit only for other people to move back to it anyways.

Either way, I don't know where to take this. Up to y'all to figure out how to proceed.

No it was brought up by one of his fans claiming that he had only pretended to be a Nazi. An idea—if Jon's fans don't want his politics being criticized, maybe they shouldn't bring those politics up.
