Many a man has their own ambitions, their own dreams. They seek to fulfill them, to satiate their neverending desires. And thus, Rapture was born, a city of Ambitions and Dreams. People come here to make their stake, have their time in the spotlight. Are you any different? You might be, thats for you and your newfound companions to decide...

This is a completely non-canonical, Alternate Universe RP with no real plot, just themed arcs so to speak, and i'm always open to ideas. Your character, through whatever means you choose, finds themselves in a city full of excitement and adventure- Rapture. With your character, also by whatever means you choose, are two other characters. These characters are ones you have created for a previous RP. Your characters do not know eachother. Your one main "goal," so to speak, is to explore the city and its mysteries. You might just explore, interact with other "teams" and characters in Rapture, partake in events- the possibilities are endless! So go on and explore, but most importantly, have fun!
There are a few different areas you can explore, but more will be added as we go along either by myself oy you P Ming me an idea you might have for a location. Some areas are:
  • The Arena: Here, you can partake in battles against enemies, the occasional boss encounter or other teams, if they accept the challenge.
  • The Dojo: Here you can train for events in the Arena, work out or set up a sparring match if you'd like. The Dojo is split into three areas, each specializing in multiple types of combat at once. The trainers at the Dojo have experience in these types of combat and will train you in the particular section of combat that they know.
  • The Casino: Here, you can participate in several different types of games, be it poker, blackjack, slots or something more lighthearted. The Casino includes a VIP section where the managers of the different areas in Rapture go in their spare time to play a game or two. Its all in good fun, though.
  • The Restaurant: Here, you can enjoy a fine meal and relax as you try meals both simplistic and elaborate, made to the perfection you desire.
  • The Simulator: Here, you can try your hand at using some of the things you might not have access to otherwise. Three main simulations are the firing range to ease your trigger finger, the racetrack to fulfill your need for speed and a flight simulator for those that take to the skies... or the stars.

The Rules of this RP:
  • No one liner posts. This might not be the most elaborate RP out there, but you'll be controlling three characters at once so try to go in depth. This is a writing and interaction heavy RP, so if you tend to type short posts this is obviously not the RP for you.
  • Try to have in each post a bit from each character you control, meaning post as all three in one post, not characters 1 and 2, 2 and 3 or 1 and 3.
  • No godmodding. This applies to characters in general to a different extent, as they shouldn't be OP.
  • Your two OC support characters cannot be from the same series or universe, and your three characters cannot be selected or created in a way that gives them some sort of invincible advantage. Working together well is fine, but not perfectly and in tandem.

Signup Sheet:
  • Team name: Its entirely optional, but why not?
Custom Character: The custom character is always human, and is meant to represent the person you are in Real Life as a whole. Besides the human bit, though, its flexible, i won't make you model it after yourself if you don't want to.
  • Name:
  • Age:
  • Gender:
  • Appearance: Go in depth on this. Make your character look as unique as possible!
  • Powers and Abilities/Skills:
  • Items/Equipment:
  • Personality:
  • Additional Info:
OC Support Character: Fill out one for each of the support characters. If additional information about the character isn't covered by this signup sheet, then add it in as well.
  • Name:
  • Age:
  • Race/Species:
  • Gender:
  • Appearance:
  • Powers and Abilities/Skills:
  • Items/Equipment:
  • Personality:
  • RP: What RP was this character originally created for?
  • Reason: This is entirely optional, but basically i'm asking you a question here: In the RP you created this character for, why did you do it? And why do you choose this character for this RP?

If you actually bothered to read all this, congrats. I applaud your interest, and hope to see you in the RP.

I know your trying to get old RP characters to appear again just like in Rebirth of Heroes RP (which never took off the ground due to disappeared GM...) but I think the strict requirements with support characters may have been scaring people away. Just a little advice, even if it might cause Open Roleplaying Decay before the RP even started...

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.

The source bit can be removed, i have never been against that. That was mainly the result of a worry of how i could even tell that the support characters hadn't just been made up.

The idea itself was original in my head at least. It wasn't until around the time i had the main post typed up that i realized this was kind of becoming the trend... in a way.

But thank you for the advice, Justa Username. I'll edit that post immediately.

Update:The source requirement had now been alleviated. The other two segments related to the support characters will stay, however. Those are just for fun, really.

Rapture?

Might I ask, is this related to Bioshock in any way?

No, it isn't. The name can be... misleading, i can tell. I had the idea for the city, then realized how similar it was to Rapture, and named it that because i couldn't think of a more fitting name.

The entire title translates to "Rapture: The City of Ambitions and Dreams." The title and city name were both created when i started defining the city and such.

Can the OC character be from a fictional work I created, like a OC from a Fan Fic or even an original fiction?

Yes, the OC support characters can, just edit the character sheet in the parts pertaining what RP its from and why you created it, etc.

Curiously, Yabou can also be read as treachery.

...Although I'm not entirely sure. My Japanese is rusty at the best of times, and half the time I have to look up the more obscure words in the dictionary.

You know what I hate? Hypocrites. That and obscure self-referential statements.
