As funny as that'd be I think that'd just... expedite? smacking evolution out of school curriculums.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaTrying to rule lawyer it is pointless, these laws are so vague so they can be used to crush queer people.
Republican dominated courts and legislatures aren't going to just smile and nod when people try to use its words against them. They'll just send the police and drag you away.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -Hylarn"Aw, darn it, they found the clever workaround!"
Nope, they're just going to doxx some poor kindergarten teacher and mail her rape threats.
It's been fun. This gets me curious on how teachers - as a professional demographic - fall on LGBT issues. Or just progressive positions in general. I know the GOP likes to whine and moan about 'liberal bias' in college-level education, but does that filter down to lower levels of education?
I know that teachers in my country have no love lost for a right-wing government that keeps cutting them at every opportunity (hence the recent strikes), but that might not be a universal thing.

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."You get some absolutely horrible teachers, but teachers in general tend to be more prone to seeing the students as actual people and not just extensions and/or property of their parents.
Not Three Laws compliant.Seems like not only Conservatives are boycotting Bud Light now. Gay bars do so now too due to the company's treatment of Mulvaney

FDA updates blood donation policy to include gay, bisexual men.
Whereas previous policy required all men who have sex with men to abstain three months before donating, it's now shifted towards individual risk-based assays regardless of gender.
That’s good to hear, really!
…I’m going to guess the previous rule was made with a basis in the “HIV” pandemic and it’s association with gay people (despite it being transmissible in more ways then sexual contact and how nobody bothered to be concerned about heterosexual transmission) and prepare to be disappointed but not surprised.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Essentially. But even after scientists made it clear that AIDS wasn't just a "gay disease" and could be transmitted via PIV or oral sex, tainted needles, and all sorts of other methods that don't care about gender differences so much as behavioral ones, it took a long time for the health organizations to catch up in policy.
dirty blood from blood transfusions is the biggest one everyone misses, partly because blood transfusions are such a routine procedure we take for hospital cleanliness for granted, but there are there are hospitals out there that cut corners and didn't exactly screen the blood and the results were unspeakable tragic

New theme music also a boxThere is also the issue that you can't detect unknown viruses and pathogens in blood. Until they are discovered and judged dangerous (there are lots of viruses we let spread as they are innocuous), they can spread freely.
Thus instead excluding a large group was easier.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThere was a big scandal about that in France 40 years ago.
The United Kingdom has also had its share of dirty blood scandals
its disturbing how widespread contaminated blood scandals are
New theme music also a boxSo maybe this has been going on for a while and I've just been in the dark, but I heard a bigot radio host repeatedly call the month of June "Groom", a slam at LGBTQ. What a douchebag.
Anyway, just wondered if that's been a common thing to call it that.

Never heard that before.
Panhandling sign glued to hands. Need $5 for solvent.Apparently it's new. It's a slam at Pride Month.
So it is new. Glad I'm not behind the times for once. And I really hope this doesn't catch on, but I'm sure it will, and they'll be using it until the end of time. 'Cause you know, it's soooo clever.
in some nicer news for a change, Louisiana blocks anti-trans youth transition bill, a rare move for a red state.
Finally, a reason to feel good about my state being in the news.
