Discussion of religion in the context of LGBTQ+ rights is only allowed in the LGBTQ+ Rights and Religion Thread
.
Discussion of religion in any other context is off topic in all of the "LGBTQ+ rights..." threads.
Attempting to bait others into bringing up religion is also not allowed.

Starship, you didn't answer my question and you're being argumentative when it doesn't have to be.
I wasn't referring to gay rights, I was referring to denying certain businesses and you know it.
I will ask you again: would you still defend Chick-fil-la as vigorously as you are even after we have presented the case isn't as cut and dry as you imply, if the didn't share the same belief on homosexuality as you?
"Psssh. Even if you could catch a miracle on a picture any person would probably delete it to make space for more porn." - AszurWhat? Who the hell is squashing who's First Amendment rights? I can lose my job because my employers don't approve of my "lifestyle" because of some 2000+ year old books. You'll forgive me if I don't shed tears because some company sells a few less sandwiches, I hope.

Except that this isn't about anything you're talking about, Starship. This is about a company being denied a permit over a history of activity that is illegal in the area that they're trying to move into. I have stated the law they're breaking in Illinois. It is not a law that is in place in most of the states they do business in. Thus the criminal proceedings are limited to Illinois at the moment.
The big issue right now is finding online sources because there's a huge signal to noise ratio of puff pieces on the issue right now. That makes it really hard to find that actual facts by just Googling them.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickStarship, you're doing that thing where you're being needlessly argumentative, stubborn, and wrong again.
We've been over a number of times how your "feelings" on an issue don't actually matter. Fact does.
The fact is, the thing you're freaking out about? the "people being able to lose their jobs because of what they think/say/do?
THAT IS WHAT WE ARE FIGHTING AGAINST. We are not trying to run "christian business" out of town, we are trying to prevent them from forcing their moralizing on their employees. Religious Dogma and superstitious prejudice should be kept within the confines of the appropriate location of worship. It should not have any power whatsoever in the general populace.

"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Why do you always start arguments with stuff like this? One of the most frustrating things about arguing with you, Maxima, is that you start out every argument with this horribly unnecessary slap in the face.
"What you aren't getting..."
"What many here fail to..."
Et cetera, et cetera.
It's really unnecessary and uncivil. If your retort proves the person wrong, let it do so. You don't have to start out insulting the person.

Got it from the LGBT thread, to note.

Quest 64 threadThe tumblr's point is to actually get the attention and figure out what happened. It may not be a hate crime, but a Black Lesbian... smells fishy to me.
Quest 64 threadhttp://www.glaad.org/blog/chick-fil-sued-gender-discrimination
Okay, so they've persecuted employees for being pregnant females, but is there any record of them prosecuting employees for being gay or Bi?
If this was boycott about Chick-Fil-A's sexism that would be fine, but that's not what this boycott is about.

Everything is Possible. But somethings are more Probable than others.my understanding was that the boycott, by and large, was against using the excuse of religion to justify discrimination.
Based on that, the Comment on marriage was merely the catalyst.

Not employees, but their charity branch, WinShape prohibits same-sex couples from attending their marriage retreats
. Also, note that that article was published in January of 2011, so this has been going on for a while now.
The media's only now taken notice, and it's only now gotten to be a big thing.

"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianThey push fundamental Christian values which includes the traditional nuclear family complete with Leave it to Beaver gender roles.
It's not the only Christian interpretaton in the world, but it's the one they advocate.
"Psssh. Even if you could catch a miracle on a picture any person would probably delete it to make space for more porn." - AszurCan this thread move on from Chick Fil-A, please? It's become a sucking mire of an issue where the ban on the store (though not the boycott) turns out to not, actually, be related to the president's homophobic donations, but to violation of women's expressly-granted civil rights.

yes
utterly unsurprising that you didn't know about it, *I* didn't know about it until just a day or two ago.

"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"

@Starship: The article should have said "more than a dozen successful lawsuits", which is actually pretty terrible.
