Wakamoto is many things (including God, which also means he's Morgan Freeman). He's just not a good Rugal. Arai was much better.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarHey, just a question about one quote. What did Kim say after beating Dark Ash? I was thinking somewhere about Kim recognizing that people will look at him funny for constantly spewing about justice, but he'll still follow it as it is his belief after all. What's the full quote like? You know, personally, that's like a Crowning Moment Of Awesome for a justice freak like him. The world treats him like a freak, but he'll keep moving and believing.
Can I count on you folks to contribute to this list?
It's for a web series I'm writing on fighting game logic.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.@ Pulse: Hey, I found something interesting that you might want to check out.
Apparently, it seems that the Three Sacred Treasures (Imperial Regalia of Japan) are distinct from the Ten Sacred Treasures seen in the EX series. The latter, known as the Amatsushirushi Mizutakara Tokusa or the Tokusa-no-Kandakara, were brought over by Prince Amenohiboko of Silla (a region in ancient Korea) and are believed to be housed at Isonokami Shrine along with the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi (until it was apparently moved to the Atsuta Shrine) and Nanatsusaya-no-Tachi (Seven-Branched Sword).
This actually is somewhat good for our case, as and I had originally ran out of spots for characters and was planning on merging the idea of the chronokinetic and spatial manipulator together into one character. On the downside, that still leaves us with two spots to fill in. Maybe a singer with sonokinesis who can use her voice as a weapon? That sounds like a good rival for Athena and Mignon. Heck, the three of them could even join together as a team one year.
As for our umbrakinetic, I was thinking about naming her Botan (haven't thought up a surname for her yet). Like I said before, she'd be an example of Dark Is Not Evil, as well as more clever than she intentionally lets on.

Um... care to explain a bit more?
Not rally much to explain, really. Just bitching about pet peeves.
Aside for the whole giant head, twigs-for-arms and ballon boobs thing (which, I'll admit is something that I need to stop getting upset over), the fact that King has become increasingly "feminine" as the series progresses. In and of itself, this is not a bad thing. But that it's King rubs me the wrong way.
It just that since her gender became an open secret (or non-secret at this point), they've putting additional fanservice on her because, well, she's a girl now. To a point where someone completely unfamiliar with the series can just tell that she's a woman. And considering her backstory, seems like a waste of character potential.
Then again, I can't really get all that upset because keeping the AOF-level drag consistently throughout the games would've turn her into a one-trick pony. And then I'd dislike her (although less than I do now) for a different reason.
And then there's her outfit. While I do appreciate the throwback to AOF, I still think that her KOF 00 outfit was her best. But more than that, it's how the outfit is worn. AOF King and KOFXIII King. . . Do I really need to say it?
Well, that's enough bitching for now. Originally, I was going to pull up her backstory and such to help emphasize my not-points, but seeing that this is YOU I'm addressing, I decided against it. No need to make myself look more of an ass than I already have.
And yes, while I could have worded this post better, I haven't had my morning coffee yet.

No, it's fine. I can understand where the problem lies.
I'm admit that the redesigns for some characters in XII and XIII could've been handled much better, especially seeing how far they deviate from the sprites in XI (which should have, in my opinion, been used as reference), such as roided-up Ralf and Clark or Yuri and Athena somehow looker younger than the 14-year-old Kula.
Perhaps I'm not so overly miffed about King because that's accurate to her measurements (I mean, she isn't that much smaller than Mai, believe it or not), nor is it overly blatant (or at least not to Mai's levels). In all fairness (and aside from the return of her Clothing Damage thing as a throwback to the AOF titles and '94/'95), King still happens to be one of the more conservative and less fanservice-y females in the series. Sure, as she becomes more comfortable with her sexuality after years of needing to hide it in fear of persecution, maybe the clothes become a bit looser and she actually starts wearing a dress once or twice, but it's not like she's... well, Mai, who is probably one of the most blatant incarnations of fanservice known to man (not that I hate Mai, but seeing her shtick applied to just about anyone else probably wouldn't go over well with me).
And there's not really much potential for a storyline in which King continually tries to keep her identity secret. King's gender has been out in the open for over 2 decades by now (which I'm assuming overlaps with characters in-universe), and while the series has a strong sense of continuity with previous titles, that kind of plot point seems minor/inconsequential. It's not like she needs to earn the respect of Joe seeing as she already has in more recent games (as reflected by their intros), and I can't really see much application for it in the sense of Character Development (and it does sound like it'd become stale quick).
... $%^#. Haha, you're right. Well, back to the drawing board I go.
Ugh. Please don't get me started on Mai. I'm still very, very pissed that out of all of the problems with KOFXII, Mai not being in the game was the one thing that the fanbase could agree on the NEEDED to be rectified.
And while I agree with your points, I just can't help feeling like King's lost a significant chunk of her character, and either no one realizes it, or no one cares. I guess what I'm trying to say is that sometimes, ambiguity is the best thing to do with characters like this.
Don't ask what's wrong with me, because I don't know either. Can't narrow it down to one track, but the Arranged Rhythmic Hallucination
is way up there. Bloody is really good too, in fact the New Faces had amazing team music all around.
Arashi No Saxophone 2 Arranged is the best version.
I have to choose?
C'mon, guys, that's just sadistic.
@ Pulse: Oh, that reminds me. Had a few more ideas on my end. Most of them pertain to the next saga after the current one we're working on, though. (I should really finish up at the least the prologue before I start moving on to the next arc...)

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarOh boy. I've never been good with picking out favorites. I do know that 2002UM and Maximum Impact have the highest ratio of like/dislikes in the series for me. '96 to '98 while the ratio is lower, compensates by being home to some of my favorite tracks of all time. Good on ya, SNK.
If I had to pick some KOF tracks outside of the ones mentioned above, Inner Shade,
Joker,
Splendid Evil,
and Arrange!KD-0079 come to mind.
Also, while wonky in a lot of places, Tears From Sadistic Eyes
is a nice effort, as I didn't like the vanilla Tears and Sadistic Eyes like all that much.
