Well, Cygan was wondering why there wasn't one, so I made it. I guess we can talk about queer stuff. :3

Oh, and if you're wondering, non-queer folks are welcome too.

First, grammar. Use it.
Second, what, it isn't right for 2 people to love each other and care for each other very deeply to tie the knot?
See where I'm going with this? Marriage is marriage, no matter who the recipients are. Grow the fuck up.

That's the Daily Mail for you. The same paper which hounded a trans teacher who eventually ended it all, because of their hounding.

"Did you expect somebody else?"No, I ain't bitter, what gave you that idea?
I sure said that!Basically, they don't want other people to be happy with each other because it doesn't feel right to them.
...Which is pretty fucking stupid, I can't imagine many people have the power to make that kind of decision on other's parts.

You can probably see why lots of LGBT individuals in the UK loathe the Daily Mail - as well as the Telegraph. There's also plenty who hate the Guardian and the Observer for being about as transphobic as can be, while pretending to offer a platform for 'all opinions', when most often it's been hateful garbage.

If I'm being honest, I don't really interact with the LGBT community much.
Or any community, for that matter...
Point is, I thought there was nothing for me to say the first time I found this thread, then I forgot about for way too long.

I sure said that!Re Marriage: It's got nothing to do with the Bible; legal marriage is a secular matter, it just generally tends to coincide with religious marriage.
There are plenty of religious people who don't oppose same-sex marriage. My two best friends, for starters. There are also plenty of hateful non-religious people. It just comes down to hatred, in the end.

"I'm not a nerd. I'm a specialist." ~Sousuke SagaraI recognize that being religious does not necessarily mean being an intolerant jerk, but I have met far more intolerant jerks who used their religion to defend their indefensible beliefs than non-theist intolerant jerks.
Square-rectangle, I guess.

I sure said that! And of course there will be more religious haters than non; there are more religious people in general by a large margin.
That was my thing when I was younger: I knew quite a bit more anti-gay religious people than I did LGBT people, and the latter were just better, nicer people in general.
So my thing was just "why hate nice people?"

It's a system that should work in our favor within twenty years or so. Look what happened with racism. The nice thing is that that sort of turnaround couldn't happen if such hatred were somehow inherent to the religion in question.
