Yeah, in Brisingr she made some clumsy advanceses. Some time when they are making thier long run she...warms up to him...sorta. The way Paolini writes their relationship, I kind of wonder if he's ever actually been in one.

George Lucas has been in relationships and people still say he can't write one well.

He still does a better job then Paolini. Really, she flat rejects him for for two and half books, then suddenly it was like Paolini remembered these two were supposed to end up together.

Yeah, okay, I confess I haven't read Brisingr. But Nasuada counts as a lady of noble birth and they have something approaching natural chemistry, so I can still hope.

JKR's clumsy romance really baffles me, because not only has she been in bad relationships and good, but she's also a big Jane Austen fan.

I thought Rowlings did a pretty good job with Ron and Herminoie...with Harry and Ginny, not so much.

But if you don't mind some...not quite good natured ribbing, I recommend checking out Kipplur's sporking page.

Oh c'mon tropers, lets look on the bright side, Paolini still wrote the chemistry between Arya and Eragon better than oh,...one certain author and her work on that girl and NOT vampire

Well, if that is the standard we are measuring against, Paolini did an outstanding job.

There actually not as bad as everyone seems to think. The fangirls are more rabid then usual though. Eragon is better IMO, but i always like adventure more then sparkly "vampires"

I only read them because my aunt got them for me! I wanted to be polite!

Oh, no no no. none of this "it isn't as bad as all that" BS. Twilight is that bad. The heroine is a author avatar/self-insert/mary-sue/sociopath, the hero is a nerotic stalker, and the plot can't even be bothered to show up until 200 pages in.

The Inheritance Cycle has it's faults, and doesn't stretch the boundries of the genre, but it is heads and shoulders above Twilight.

I think they're trying to resist the temptation to buy it.

I'm sure it would be prime snarking material, but it would just be so awful.

For educational purposes, I'll wait for the price to come down a bit so I can get it on my nook.

Sorry, I'm not looking forward to finding a space on my bookshelf for an 880 page book, not to mention carrying that behemoth around.

Guilty Pleaure/ Bile Fascination doorstoppers is one of the few reasons why I even have an e-reader.

Anybody else bothered by how they handled the sectret elven death magic? It goes something like:

Eldest: Okay, here are these super-secret spells that nobody knows about and that can kill anyone by thinking it.

Brisingr: You know those secret death spells? Yeah, turns out EVERY LAST DAMN MOOK has magical barriers specifically against them. Looks like you'll have to kill them bare-handed and Wangst!

It's a matter of direct vs. indirect killing, I think. One is slightly more personal.

So there are just a few reviews on Amazon so far, but this one made me giggle.

I have been a Christoff Panini fan since 2003, when the first book in his highly original and never-been-done-before take on fantasy literature was published. I believe the first book back then was deemed Errorgon. I am happy to report to one and all that Panini continues his groundbreaking literary masterpiece series with Inheritance. I dare say that it is the best in the whole series of highly intelligent fantasy literature that is better than anything Michael Crichton has ever put out.

In the past, Panini always wrote about this dragon and this young lad who rode on this dragon. In this installment, said dragon has apparently flown away because the lad stupidly left its cage door open. This results in ensuing hilarity as the lad teams up with a green ogre and a blonde princess to track down his pet dragon. The plot of this novel is unbelievably trailblazing because I have never, ever heard or, rather, read of such an ingenious and clever story that has never, ever been attempted before.

I have to sheepishly confess that back in 2003, I had doubts about Panini as an author. He had serious trouble with properly writing compound sentences, dependent clauses and appropriate predicates; simultaneously, he had a hard time avoiding comma splices and dangling modifiers, that twit!

However, his writing and his storytelling prowess have improved to the degree that he is now a much better author than not only Michael Crichton, but also John Grisham, Tom Clancy, Bill O'Reilly, Mary Shelley, Saul Bellow, Ray Bradbury, Truman Capote and William S. Burroughs. He may even be a little bit better than Dr. Seuss, too. In short, please make Panini richer and buy Inheritance. I personally offer you my book-lover's guarantee that even if you have to dig deep into your unemployment check (because Obama refused to create any jobs since he misdirected taxpayer money into the public sector through his idiotic shovel-ready jobs nonsense), you will have no regrets with Inheritance.

Trolling reviews are fun!

^^ Dude, it's out today.

Unless you don't live in the U.S., in which case I haven't a damn clue.

Buying it on nook after the price goes under ten dollars. It's $13.99 right now.
