Oh, right. I don't usually go to the media forums, so I forgot how many there were. Easiest solution would probably be a menu for selecting the subforum. This would be useful even if we have namespaces, since there are pages for multiple versions of the same work across two or more media.

Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.I would base it on the index(es) a work is on. Possibly use a menu to pick if there are multiple.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I agree with Kilgore Trout on this. When I first made my way to Tropes, the natter was a selling point. It was not a bug, it was a feature. I was quite [insert negative emotion of choice here] to see it go.
Yes, I recognize it's against the rules; that just means that I have to obey the rules I dislike until I get them changed; and yes, I realize it is highly unlikely most of the rules I oppose ever will be changed*, but as the saying goes, lost causes are the best ones worth fighting for.
(*unless I become World Emperor, it'll happen sooner than you think, Evil Laugh)
Just because something isn't allowed, doesn't mean it's bad. The only things stopping me from launching my own pro-Natter Tropes-esque site is a lack of funds and technical knowhow.
(Granted, those are fairly large obstacles. It's like saying "The only reason I'm not on Mars is because I have no spaceship or portable oxygen."
)

Actually, that might be an okay idea. As long as we are natter free.
I've read Oh Internet and know what happened.

So... you want a site where you can natter and post lots of NSFW content?
I really don't mean to be rude, but if that's the case, then this site ain't big enough for the two of us. There are a few changes around here I'm dissatified with, but I'm quite happy at the crackdown on natter and ecstatic to see the end of creepy pages like so many Troper Tales were.

Of course. Everyone wants different things out of the site.
The view of what I want out of this site has lost. I may hate that fact, but I acknowledge it.
That's why I really want to create another, similar site. So that those who enjoy natter and NSFW content can have it, and those who don't can avoid it.
(And yes, I even enjoy most of the creepy stuff; I don't think we should have nuked anything that was consensual, but eh.)

Oh, I know of the incident, and I was able to put two and two together. I have one of those annoying stubborn streaks that would rather "keep the principles and go down with the ship."

I'm glad I don't come across as too annoying.
As I noted above, I would gladly host my own site but for lack of funds and technical knowhow, which are two rather large obstacles for running a website, I believe.

What Teufel is trying to say (or at least how I'm interpreting it) is that when this button is clicked, it'll bring up a page on the correct forum so you can create a topic. The problem with this is that we'll have no way of linking to the correct forum unless an article is in a namespace, or we come up with a new category system, the latter of which seems quite inefficient.
Another idea is the extension of the redirect system, where you can put the discussion hash (For example, this thread's hash is 13054528260A66694900) where the name of an article would go on a separate namespace, like the Forum/ namespace, and simplify this to the creation of a new markup type and a new namespace. How does that sound?
