I am not understanding all of the hate for this movie. The rating is only a 4.1 on IM Db (it should be at least a 5.5) and Cartoon Brew treats it like its the antichrist (along with anything Robert Zemeckis, which makes me wonder if Jerry Beck has even liked a project with Zemeckis's name on it). There are much worse films that this one (such as Alpha and Omega, Everyone's Hero and both Space Chimps movies). Yes, it's not a great movie but it is entertaining enough and the martians are impressive looking (yes, there are characters besides the humans). Also, the movie is much better than the trailers. People only seem to hate it based on three things: 1. the trailers selling it as a comedy rather than an adventure film, 2. the motion capture process (not every film is going to suck because it has motion capture) and 3. the negative press (include Jerry Beck never giving Robert Zemeckis a fair trial) over it losing so much money at the box office. If you want a bad animated sci-fi film, rent Delgo or Space Chimps and/or Space Chimps 2.
First, holy necro Batman. Second, this thread violates our rule about complaining. If there's a dedicated topic for Mars Needs Moms, please use that (or create one).
