The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.I don't see what's wrong with the word "ableism", and attacks on political correctness for the sake of attacking political correctness are annoying.

Even in a few recent ones: I have read recently something about a mental hospital that was closed for malpractice a few years ago, and... well, let's just say that the term "horrific" definitely applied there.
So, if "ableism" stands for "discrimination against disabled people", I'm with LH on this: it exists, and it can be seriously bad.

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.Woah, hold your horses, I just didn't know what it meant!
But now that I know what it means:
As somebody with a not-inconsequential Learning Disability I can say it sounds rather silly to me.
I don't remember going to the NAADP meeting and voting on that. I'm cool with just calling it "Discrimination against the disabled".
Still better than "differently-abled."
I'm fully aware of all the hoops schools had to jump through to accomodate me for most of a decade. I wouldn't force an employer to deal with most of that crap for the sake of my self-esteem.
It's such a broad term too. An LD is a completely different matter from a Physical disability, you can higher a person who's dyslexic for the dockyards, but not somebody in a wheelchair.
Charlie Tunoku is a lover and a fighter.Ableism is shorter.
Regarding "differently-abled", I generally say "disabled", though I won't say it to somebody if they've made it known that they have a problem with it.

That's the guy who sings that song you hate.
I'd be cool looking more or less the same, just all of the bad stuff removed.
Sharper teeth (and no, not vampire teeth, one of my canines is completely flat, the others are rounded).
No more bags under my eyes.
Just slightly taller.
Feet that didn't suck at circulating blood.
And slightly more muscle.
Read my stories! But Trey Songz is a man.
