"Well, yeah," replied Masuyo, releasing Keiko with a smile. She folded her arms and leaned back a bit. When she next spoke, her voice was completely deadpan serious.
"I always hug my victims."
Granted, she wasn't serious, but she certainly sounded like it.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Don't you think you've done enough growing..?
"Right!" Tsubame opened her lunchbox, revealing...that she'd forgotten to bring lunch that day. "Eh?"
Burn up, hurricane of justice!Keiko felt a very cold shiver run up her spine as she heard Masuyo say those last words. In order to protect her mind from trauma and fear she decided to pressure a very important affair that had been ignored to the moment.
Looking to one side she said "You never gave me that croquette..."
"Huh? What happened to your lunch, Tsubame?" Ayame asked, taking a look at the empty space that was supposed to be occupied by the little girl's meal.
Chouko had spent most of the morninng lesson gazing out the window, as she usually did. The arrival of the transfer student had definitly been enough to distract her from her distractions, however, and she'd looked on with interest (although she didnt rush in and crowd the girl like many of the others).
Wales, huh? Thats pretty cool... I wonder what the wildlife is like there? I bet it's cold, so... This newest daydream was interupted by the lunch bell, which Chouko greeted with a smile.
"Hmm? What's up with Tsubame's lunch?" She asked the student reporter and martial artist, who happened to be sitting next to her. "Oh, did you forget it this morning?"
"Hmm..." Tsubame seemed lost in thought for a little while, before Chouko chimed in, "Oh, right. I was busy trying to work out some details on a story I was working on, I guess I forgot to make it this morning...I'll just have to have an extra big serve of that curry Aya-chan's making later." she replied.
Burn up, hurricane of justice!"Right, right! Tsubame-chan needs to eat lots and lots! I Kotobuki Ayame will not let my small and adorable roommate pass the afternoon hungry" The martial artist said, moving her lunchbox closer just like her good friend at thr archery club did and picking a big portion with her chopsticks she told Tsubame "Come on, open up"
Masuyo giggled when she saw Keiko freeze up, but didn't say she was joking just yet. When Keiko asked about the croquette, Masuyo quickly finished the half-eaten one and picked up another with her chopsticks and plopped it in Masuyo's lunchbox.
"Here you go," she said.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Haruka smiled wickedly in response to Madoka's comment. Everyone knew the young miss had high grades, especially with history. She prided herself with such things, though she would never admit it to anyone except people like her roommate.
"Well you are allowed to try my dear..but it will be difficult to beat perfection" Haruka declared, sticking her tongue out playfully at Madoka. Her body was relaxing now, her mind easing back the emotional walls inch by inch. It was nice to talk to someone and know they wouldn't judge you for it. It was a rare occurance.
"To fan the flames of war is to burn the land away""Hee... Now that makes me want to challenge you even more" Madoka said just before she slipped the last piece of her energy bar into her mouth. It wasn't every day that she got to see Haruka smile... and the prospect of such a competition was thrilling indeed but... "However I do know my limits... I would need lots of time to prepare for such a fight. Maybe I won't be so busy with the CG Committee in high school..."
"Thank you"
Sigh... So much fright and pain to get this... I certainly I'm an idiot Keiko thought as she grabbed the little croquette and took a bite out of it... which immediately brought tears to her eyes Damn you, for being so delicious, you little devil of temptation!

“Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend.” Haruka whispered into Madoka's ear and smiled wider, patting her head tentatively. "I may be at the top in this subject, but how does that affect anything if that title can be taken at a moment’s notice? No...What is most important is that we stand together and grow from experiences with each other".
Haruka closed her mouth now, blushing slightly after realizing the intensity of her words. The young miss proceeded to close her bento box, her meal finished. She then looked back up to Madoka, watching for her reaction. This was one of the few times shecalled her 'friend', the term being diminished in use since they have moved up from their younger years together.
"To fan the flames of war is to burn the land away"The club didn't do a whole lot during their lunch break. Simply eat. Lucy continued to spout out more speeches about their goals and causes, which no one really paid attention to. Besides, they'd all heard it enough times to recite her word for word - something they could accomplish after three days.
"And finally... Someone pass me a rice ball!" Lucy suddenly demanded. "I'm starving!"
"I thought you could wait?" Mai asked teasingly.
"Gimme one or I'm eating you!"
Mai waved her empty box in the air. "All out."
The other girls indicated that they had finished as well, and Lucy pouted at the group, feeling betrayed. "Whatever happened to sharing?" Lucy wanted to know.
"Remember when I forgot my lunch, and you wouldn't give me even a nibble of yours?" Ayu reminded her club leader. "Well, now we're even!"
"And you did say you could wait..." Nagisa muttered.
"Bah! The new club members will totally be much more loyal!" Lucy claimed, and settled back down to her seat.
Tsubame looked between Chouko and Ayame, "No, it's okay, really. But...if you insist. Aaah." She opened her mouth when Ayame told her to.
Burn up, hurricane of justice!"Haruka..."
Madoka was left speechless for a moment... it had been a very long time since the last time Haruka had called her friend. Madoka was obviously a little moved, so much that she felt a little warmth spread from her chest. The young mage turned her gaze elsewhere and moved her hand towards her heart as little smile came to her face.
"You're right... It's better if we stand together..." Madoka said, turning now to see her Haruka's face "... after all, that's what friends are for"
"Of course I liked it, I wouldn't pay such a steep price for just about anything" Keiko says, eating her croquette one little bite at a time... and seeing how the other girl wolfed them down felt almost like a stab in the chest.
At least try to enjoy them you idiot!
"Yup, I insist~" Ayame said as she fed her friend some of her lunch "Now it's your turn Chouko"
Masuyo finished the last of her croquettes rather uncerimoniously, then took one look at her classmate and tilted her head. "What's wrong, Keiko-chan?"
She had picked up on Keiko's displeasure. It wasn't really that hard to pick up on.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Tsubame quickly devoured the mouthful of Ayame's lunch. She was temporarily dead to the world, missing the chance to yell at Chouko for what she said. She turned to the archer, smiled and opened her mouth.
Burn up, hurricane of justice!"I seriously wonder how much of their taste you can appreciate like that..." Keiko said grumpily as it was her custom.
Ayame meanwhile kept at feeding Tsubame alongside Chouko, charmed by the cuteness o0f her roommate... until the moment the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch and calling all students and teachers to go back to their classrooms.
"Umm, I can't really say, the story's still in the early stages, but-" Tsubame was cut off by the bell. "Eh? Lunch is over already?"
Burn up, hurricane of justice!"Ah, fair enough, fair enough." Chouko said, nodding her understanding. "I look forward to reading it." She looked up when the bell rang and started packing up her lunchbox.
"Back to class..." She sighed quietly, leaning her chin on her hand looking out the window for a second. "Lunch always seems to go too fast."

Keiko stiffened when the other girl reached out and hugged her, the expression in her face not changing in the slightless except for the fact that her face got a little red "Masuyo..."
She took a deep breath, she was going to ask something she already knew... but still she felt the need to get an answer out of the goggles maniac "You're a touchy-feely person, right?"
"Certainly, it's important for us growing young maidens to eat our fill" Ayame said, opening her own lunch box.
