Our only hope is for the general public to elect Harada as the new series director.
Eh, I don't really think Tag would work well in Soul Calibur. I would love a return of Team battles, though.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThey already had something similar (and faster-paced) with Active Matching Battle in IV. It could work, if done right.
But yes, Team Battle and all of the other extra goodies need to make a comeback.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarIf I recall, the active matching thingy in IV wasn't utilized that well. Basically, only in story mode and the Tower of Lost Souls. That's it. No team battle or anything.
Which is a shame, because I liked it.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.The fact that you could only use it three times consecutively before you had to wait for each node to recharge was likely done to circumvent that, but the fact that Active Matching Battle didn't see much use in IV (not every as an option for Vs. play) means that any potential game breakers probably went undiscovered. Still, the combo opportunities provided by attack canceling was fun. It added a layer of strategy to things and I think it'd go hand-in-hand with what we currently have (as long as you can't do anything crazy like switch cancel out of a Critical Edge and then use another Critical Edge; something along the lines of that with Natsu/Nightmare would be a literal nightmare).
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarCreated characters incoming!
- SC IV:
- First three are named for my last username, an older username, and a username I never actually used: Artemis
◊ (My last username; after Artemis Fowl); Ossilion
◊ (The username that I never actually wound up using; it's a corruption of oissilon, French for fledgling); Hiro
◊ (A username I used to use for videogames; didn't even know it was pronounced he-ro until after I stopped using it).
- Next three are all the same character, name of Jade; she isn't named after anyone in particular, and hasn't the faintest hint of a backstory.Jade with Maxi's moveset
◊; Jade with Yunsung's moveset
◊; Jade with Talim's moveset
◊.
- Next two are sisters, but unfortunately neither one has any more backstory than that: Valeria
◊ and Alicia
◊.
- Capt. Sorel
◊, a vampire of distant relation to Raphael, but who has never, for all the thought I've put into him, so much as seen Raphael. He also has red eyes, but you can't see them.
- Kyrie
◊, a winged soldier who has pretty much no backstory, but whose backstory would have something to do with HeroScape if she did have any. Kyrie being the name of her species, she is technically unnamed.
- Colonel Wilhelm Klink
◊, from Hogan's Heroes. Yeah, I don't know why either. :/
- Laeven
◊, a character I originally invented for use in The Avatar Arena.
- First three are named for my last username, an older username, and a username I never actually used: Artemis
- SC V:
- First two are, well, me: Knowlessman with Yoshimitsu's moveset
◊ and Knowlessman with Siegfried's moveset
◊.
- Some amalgamated abomination of awesome, known only as Metal Man because I couldn't be bothered to think up a proper name for him.
◊
- Some ninja called Redbelt
◊, who most likely has a startlingly similar backstory to Redcloak; I had Start of Darkness on the brain when I made him.
- Wurse
◊, some kind of demon I made when I decided I might as well learn LizardmanAeon's moveset. I just kinda like the idea of a demon having that name. He does have two horns, by the way; the left one just has an unfortunate tendency to clip through his wing. - An alt costume for Yoshimitsu
◊; I happened to notice that the Henshin Mask clips amazingly well with the Voodoo Helm, and, well, I think you can follow my thought process from there.
- First two are, well, me: Knowlessman with Yoshimitsu's moveset
EDIT: Goddammit, Artemis's backward. How in the hell did I miss that? -_-

i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyYou might want to use an offsite image uploader and link to it, as those are rather hard to see.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyIf they're hard to see, it's probably because I took them with my phone. :/ Haven't the faintest idea how to get the images from the 360 directly to the computer. Also, each picture is only 250x200.
Still easier to see than some of the others people've submitted here.
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyYeah, they were a lot better quality than mine. Unfortunately I don't see the point for chucking my I Phone just yet...
Good to see what you came up with anyway.
Heck, I might do some for my own. Not today though, big events happening today!
They'll turn your world aroundLong enough to learn her style and consider her a mother figure (at least, subconsciously)
It isn't specified.

Thanks
How come Siegfried doesn't get Goldion Hammer as a joke weapon, I mean, weren't Namco and Bandai (the latter which owns Sunrise, who made Gao Gai Gar) about to be merged when SC 3 came out?
edited 16th Sep '13 8:38:36 AM by HallowHawk
Because not everything has to be a reference to something else? Also, I haven't seen Gao Gai Gar, so I don't know why Siggy would get it as opposed to say, Rock.
Namco Bandai are still merged, btw. People tend to blame the bad direction this series has gone in on "Bamco".
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWell, Bamco was probably (at least) partially responsible for the vastly rushed development of V, so I wouldn't say they're blameless.
But yeah, I don't think it'd make sense for the guy with a zweihander to get a hammer as a joke weapon when Rock and Astaroth are already in the game. And I'm pretty sure those weren't Wolfkrone soldiers in the intro to III; timeline-wise, it would match up with Hilde fighting off Nightmare and his forces some number of times prior to IV, but the banner on their flags doesn't seem to be that of Wolfkrone.
As for Patroklos' tutelage under Setsuka Neve, like Other said, it's not specified, but it was sometime during a four-year window between Patroklos winning a sword-fighting tournament and learning of his mother's fate from Rothion at age 15 and the events of SCV. He was learning from multiple masters at that point, so it's unknown how long he was staying in Istanbul with Setsuka Neve, but he was noted to be a quick learner.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarAnd why should Siegfried getting Goldion Crusher be a Actor Allusion, the answer is simple, Nobuyuki Hiyama.

Not everything is about casting gags. And, yeah, it would have made no sense considering Sieg's own choice of weaponry.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Except the joke weapons are still at least in the general shape of the weapon they wield. Siegfried wields a big ass sword. Which is nothing like a hammer.

@ Other: Ah, I knew I was getting something wrong. I need to get reacquainted with SCIII once I find a replacement PS2 controller (the one I have still works, but the left arrow on the d-pad doesn't always pick up double tap inputs).
@ Demo: Yeah, it is a potential catch-22. It's hard to argue if having the series continue at the possible cost of continuing on with the bumbling effort Daishi & co. had with V (in the story department, at least) is worth it.
I have to wonder if Lost Swords will have its own gimmicks like Tekken Revolution does.
