Scratch that last post. The Compatibility Pack is here! :D
...Aaaaand the 1P/2P costumes aren't unisex.

So I went and got one of the new customization packs today - specifically, the one containing costume parts from several of the original characters. The Cepheus Store is nice enough to tell and show you what you're going to get. Hilariously (or depressingly), said pack cost less than the 'Maid Pack', but contains far more parts. Then again, SC4 used to have everyone's 2P costume parts available from the start, so... =/
Anyway, the pack. It has the parts for Patroklos 1 and 2P, ZWEI 1 and 2P, Pyrrha 1P, Pyrrha Omega, Viola 1P, and Elysium 1P. They're all gender-locked, which is a shame - there were parts from ZWEI 1P that I was hoping to use on one of my female CAS that uses his style.
Elysium 1P's headgear looks awesome on armored characters; the rest of her costume parts are still laughably-skimpy, and I'm still not sure where I could use them.
There seems to be a redundant part in the form of Pyrrha and Pyrrha Omega's skirt - they're counted as two pieces, but the only difference between them is their default colors, which is mighty odd. =/ Also, Pyrrha Omega's upper torso piece has the mutated arm; if you've always wanted to make a 'female Nightmare', there's your chance.
I imagine a later pack will include Nightmare's arm and torso for the guys.
Edit: Hmm, semi-Natsu'd.

I gotta ask: does SC5's equipment destruction do anything other than serve as titillation? If it serves no gameplay purpose, I'd definitely want Project Soul to add an option to turn it off on individual custom characters - or heck, individual equipment parts - just so I don't need to watch my customs get stripped down to their pants/skirt/whatever, barefoot and possibly shirtless. >=(

Aside from anything else, armour shattering and revealing bare skin underneath is bizarre. Believe me when I say that wearing nothing but a piece of metal into battle is going to get you killed by the first blunt object which hits hard enough. There's a reason knights went into battle with a thick layer of padding on under their plate mail. Destroying a knights armour was not a simple matter of disabling the outer layer; there's a reason people tried to bypass the damn stuff.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.Well, I don't mind that SC5 isn't realistic in that regard; it's a game where Rule of Cool is in play, especially in the more creative... creations you can find online. Heck, I have a few customs, male and female, who don't have just chain mail underneath their upper armor; I've tried using nothing but chain mail way back in SC3, and found that it ends up making the armored characters appear a tad more generic than if I put on different undergarments on each of them. My problem is that the equipment destruction mechanic can easily ruin the look of custom characters, turning what should look like an epic match between a blinged-out knight and a terrifying demon into two nearly-naked people knocking each other silly.
I'm aware that this can be taken as nitpicking, since equipment can no longer affect your characters' stats so it doesn't matter what they're wearing. It's just that to me, the simplified equipment destruction becomes silly at times. That, and for some reason my female ZWEI CAS keeps getting stripped down in nearly every match I play, without fail. o_o;;

Ah, SC III's CAS.
Once I get a completed save file, I may upload images of the characters I made there. None of this clone business.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyDid I not shit-talk a game I watched enough? Why would you do that, Cru? You don't trust me to make your decision for you?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI really did not like how all the new characters only appeared in a single scene. The only ones that actually did anything were Patro, Pyrrha, and ZWEI. And ZWEI was only there to call Patro out on his bullshit and then get unceremoniously killed off SERIOUSLY NAMCO THE FUCK WHAT WITH THAT
And then there was the fact that 90% of the game's cast didn't appear at all.
That probably made more sense than the actual story, which was like a Random Events Plot. I just loved how Ivy was conveniently just passing by to tell Patro about ~the three sacred treasures~. Then five minutes later he runs into Xiba and Leixia and LOL THEY HAVE EXACTLY THE CRAP PATRO NEEDS AHAHWEFUNERGJHB
I will stop now because I could seriously rant for hours about how SCV's plot was absolute shit.
"Unceremonious". That word well describes the exit for Rock, Talim, Zasalamel, Cassandra, all of Korea, and others. And we didn't even get BANGOO!
Such a shame when someone has to hope for story based dlc.
But let's talk positives in the series.

That would be optimal, yes. The new characters need character development and a purpose in the story.
Not to mention the remaining original cast, none of which have any part in the plot. They literally have no excuse for Zasalamel not being there.
AHEM
Character creation is super duper in SCV.

He could've been killed recently and thus just a baby, but who wouldn't love to see an 8 year old Zasalamel scheming, even if he wasn't playable.
I've said it before, Ezio, Viola and Character parts are the best looking parts of the game to me. I'd still rather not have only clones. SC 3 did character creation well, even with limited parts.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy

I would... but I won't be home for another four weeks. ;~;
