She had Soul Edge and Soul Calibur as separate weapons. However everyone had a Soul Edge version in that game.
In III, she had just Soul Calibur, while in IV she had both (...because why not?)

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Also, in II it was just a weapon in combat, not her entire cutscene story ending.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerII Talim was best Talim.
Hell, II everything was best everything.
Ponders too much; thinks too little. Currently goes by Knowlessman.Controversial opinion time!
While I do agree that II is one of the best in terms of gameplay and features, in terms of story it's rather...barebones. Hell, the bulk of what we know happened in II is what was relayed back to us in III. I do agree that some characters (such as Talim) did have fresher characterization in II though.
For the record, in terms of story, I'd rank the games I've played III >> V > IV > II.
But in terms of actual gameplay, yeah, it's definitely II >> V > III > IV. (this is also how I rank the games in general btw)
...it seems I liked V. Whodathunk.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.III has the best story. The idea of integrating it into the world map into twists and turns was the best. I also liked the gameplay better, though Talim was a step down.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerIn retrospect, Soul Calibur 1 had the best story.
The endings in those games were actually used in the sequel moreso than 2 or 3. And they had the largest sense of continuity I feel thanks to the Art Gallery's Recap of the end of Soul Calibur 1.

youtube.com/Fire Trainer 92I agree about III having the best story.
Basically I feel that, if one were to combine the speed of II with a combination of the best mechanics across series history (for me, that'd be pre-V Guard Impacts note , Just Impacts, Extra Weapons that aren't purely aesthetic changes, the Soul Charge from II and III, Active Matching Battle from IV, Quick Step, Just Guard, Guard Crush, and Brave Edges—sans meter—from V, plus the more dynamic stages introduced in V), a majority of the game modes and features found in II and III (i.e. Survival, Team Battle, Museum, Weapon Theater, etc.), the return of Weapon Master Mode (with some aspects of Tower of Lost Souls from IV thrown in), a Story Mode in the vein of Tales of Souls in III (but more diverse for each individual character and with actual Destined Battles thrown back in, cutscenes and all), and continued improvements to the Character Creation system, you'd probably have the best Soul game ever.
As for the crowner, that is still forthcoming. Should be up within the half-hour. I might keep it up past the usual 24 hour limit since I'll need to have a better look into Legends and Broken Destiny. I'll let you all know how that goes.
Crowner's finally up.
I left out "Midnight Mystique" (Dampierre) and "Antares" ("Devil Jin"). The former will be included if I can get the Broken Destiny crowner up and running, while I exempted the latter because it's taken directly from Tekken 5.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarHave you been PM-ing Lu to ask for the crowners to be hooked?
So just a hypothetical: Soulcalibur vs Darkstalkers: good, fun idea, or too much of a clash?
Yoshimitsu would fit right into Darkstalkers, but that'd also mean stuff like Anakaris vs. Hilde, or Dimitri pulling Midnight Bliss on Voldo. Plus, BB Hood would be far removed from her time. She couldn't make it work as well as Heihachi did, or as well as Felicia, J. Talbain, et. al. might.

The sad, REAL American dichotomy... I've been forgetting, actually. orz
I'll probably leave this crowner up for an extra day since it took me so long to get it up (I haven't even voted myself). I might hold off on the remaining two games, so if you have any other crowners in the works, you're more than welcome to squeeze them in after the SCV music one concludes.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarAren't the Darkstalkers like kinda messed up in terms of powers levels? Most of the time I hear them brought up outside of company wide crossovers, it's how most of the Darkstalkers would stomp most opponents unless there was some handwave.
I admit, I don't know much on Darkstalkers, but yeah, I can see a clear clash in terms of tone and setting.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Yeah, most Darkstalkers would indeed roflstomp other series they've been put up against. Really, Soulcalibur doesn't need any more outsiders, and Darkstalkers just needs a proper sequel. A vs of the two is just a joke/comment I've heard, stemming from Street Fighter X Tekken or the general tone of Capcom Vs Whatever.
I'm still finding it funny that this thread's first post contains a boob chart.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyMaybe a crossover with Castlevania? (Provided it was more like Soulcalibur and less like Castlevania Judgment, of course.) The series have a similar ambience overall and, given the gameplay mechanics found in SCV, Item Crushes could be the Critical Edge equivalent for the Castlevania characters.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarGet Takeshi Obata to do the character designs again and we might just end up with Light or Ryuk as the guest for that game.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarPlaying SoulCalibur III again. I'm glad I don't look too deep into balance and whatnot, 'cause I'm having the time of my life. I've done Tales of Souls something like 7 times now...
They'll turn your world aroundRyuk vs Zasalamel, using scythes... Although with enough apple-withdrawal, he'd have a bit of Voldo contortion in him.
Also, just thought I'd mention, I often read the word 'Takeshi' as 'Brock'.
Damn, Setsuka beat you that many times already?

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI need to try to reach Night Terror with everyone else not named Kilik or Siegfried... Man, is that going to take forever.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarBy the time I actually realized the true paths (internet) I got as far as Olcadan, and lost. I'll try again though when I get a ps2 this week, then I'll return said PS 2 because I don't have anything else to use that console for.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy

Well, I think it was a dumb idea to give her both Soul Edge and Soulcalibur and have her redeem Algol by reuniting him with his son while the swords don't affect her at all. At least before that, she just made Soul Edge disappear.
(I love Talim. I just think II Talim was the best in all areas.)
