The sad, REAL American dichotomyAlso, I wonder how closely 6's supers will hew to these Critical Edges from the original game.
Also the paper rock scissors game at the end of reversal edge was in Soul Blade as well whenever you clashed. In that game you had no Dodge options but the ABK options were there.

youtube.com/Fire Trainer 92That's actually a pretty apt statement. In Tekken, he's just some nerd with magic anime swords. In Dissidia, he's the gamer dude who gets thrown into a Trapped in TV Land plot by getting sucked into his fantasy fighting game.

The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!Screen has 20 slots. I'd seen that before I made my above post. The accompanying interviews suggested there may be more than 20.
Sophitia looks so gorgeous. I'm most interested to see what Seong Mi-Na looks like under these graphics, in her SE or SC 1 era costumes. She was my preferred waifu, but I can concede that Sophitia is more conventionally attractive, and benefits from Western standards. Here's hoping Mi-Na looks more Korean.
Part of why I wouldn't be bothered if Zwei returned, in addition to his age not being locked down, is because in talking to some of my friends I've learned that he's Mr. Fanservice, and while he seems try-hard to me, I won't begrudge them their eye candy.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI'm again looking at the results
of the popularity poll (not the head-to-head competition).
- Characters in IV not playable in SCV ranked: 1, 2, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 20, 31
- Considering this poll was during the early VI development period, I'm hoping they learned from this poll.
- The highest placing SCV character (Viola) ranked 21.
- Moveset clones and copy characters are almost universally disliked, taking the entire bottom 10 spots. Doesn't seem like people are a fan of "functions".
- Despite having literally no personality, among copy characters, Charade ranked second to Soul Edge. Clearly it's not just me who likes him.
- Lizardman, Rock and Algol were the lowest placing major characters of IV.
- This and the previous subpoint suggest fans still held 2 in high regard, but...
- Hwang, who hadn't been playable since 3, was a Satellite Character in SC, and was only a main character in SE... placed 23 out of the 45 characters. Dude is still held in high regard.
Still sour about that poll, 'cause they separated Aeon and Lizardman for no good reason, reducing the count for each.
They'll turn your world aroundHwang, though.
If you add the Aeon and Lizardman scores together, he fares better.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyConsidering he is ranked 23 which out of 48 is near the middle sounds like a combination of making a good impression, good move pool and any other factor. Point being that overall characters with multiple games have an easier time scoring votes then new characters.
"Shall I use you, or make you mine... I'm not so sure what I'll do." - DorthyThen compare Viola vs Astaroth. Or how Talim (playable in only 3 of the 6 games) beat everyone, including Taki (playable since the start).
Is it hard to believe characters place higher or lower in a character popularity poll because people like or dislike their characters?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI agree. If this game spans 1586-159X, then she'd be in at her normal age.
And tbh, these games should be spanning some amount of time, considering characters are traveling across Europe, and, at the most extreme, across Asia.
Assuming absolutely zero detours, over the course of 2-4, which all take place in on year:
- Sophitia traveled from Greece to Germany to Greece to Germany in the course of a year, travelling alone
- Mi-Na went from Korea to China, got a decent bit of training from Edgemaster, then crossed Asia to Istanbul, met Talim and Yancy, then tracked down Yancy again (this time he only had one night's head start)
- Talim went from the Philippines, crossed Asia, met Yancy, stopped somewhere to treat a sick child, crossed more of Asia, met the above in Istanbul, then crossed some of Europe. Again, spending most of her time traveling alone, as a 15 year old girl.
- Tira, who seems to have some equivalent of Littlefinger's jetpack, went from Germany, found out who Sophitia was, that she has kids, and where they live, personally went to (presumably) Japan for a once-a-year festival, evaded most of Yoshimitsu's clan and disappeared his second in command, went to Greece, abducted a child, went back to Germany, established more of her plan, and at some point met with Astaroth, Maxi, Cervantes, and Voldo (presumably back in Italy).
In one year.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyBacking up to guest characters for a moment, Harada stated he would like to throw in Sam Sho characters as guests. Personally I would love to see Genjuro duke it out with Mitsurugi or Iroha tag teaming with Voldo.
Age is not merely hardship, but chapters of them.

It's funny that Noctis looks more out of place in Dissidia than he does in Tekken. Not seeing how he looks particularly douchey either. He just looks someone you'd see in the Japanese equivalent ot Hot Topic or something.
Al came back recently and the first arc after his return has him wielding a BFS given to him by God to free his wife from Hell. He relinquishes it at the end of the arc but that doesn't change the fact that SC now has a weapon to give Al that he has wielded himself in the source material, as opposed to Agony, which may or may not have been a vague allusion to the Medieval Spawn from an early issue.
