Nightmare's SCII profile states that he's 5'6.
I can no longer take the character seriously, even if I tried, and I never could.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI know people were shorter back then, but Nightmare...
◊ Come on.
Also Mitsurugi, but he's not supposed to be this great destroyer menace.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyOkay, I have a concern. In https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/SoulEdge
we see by Rock's bio the flag for England is a plain red cross on a white background. But in https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/Soulcalibur
Ivy's bio we see the flag with more stuff added. However Soul Calibur is only set like three years after Soul Edge, but as far as I can tell the new flag didn't come into use until 1606. Here is a page about the progression of the flags.
This whole thing has left me confused, as I'm pretty sure Soul Calibur was set in 1587. Does anybody understand the reason for all this?
Edit: Kay, changed it. Both now show the flag of England that is just the red cross on the white background.

Well the flag usage on our pages is non-canon anyway. I don't know who decided to upload all those.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyHow many people know that Cervantes ship was call the Adrian
? What kind of design do you think he used for the Adrian's flag?

The average Male is taller then Nightmare
Who knew Sieg was short
This is an outrage against Luminara! We don't have characters from "all over the globe", though. We have characters from Eurasia, and also Zasalamel, wherever the hell he's from, for those two games he was there.
- Zas is the closest we have to "African", and even then we don't actually know where he's from, and considering his move names, he may be more Middle Eastern.
- Rock is an Englishman born in London, though he was raised in presumably North America. Bangoo isn't playable.
- No one from whichever American continent Rock didn't live in.
- No one is from Australia/Oceania aside from maybe Talim, but the Philippines can be considered Southeast Asia.
- No one's even from India/the Indian subcontinent. The closest we have is Maxi, and he's actually (what is now) Japanese.
Basically, we've got "Western Europe, Eastern Asia, and a couple of people from the Mediterranean who look nothing like it."

The sad, REAL American dichotomyNow, I may be misremembering here, but I recall that this Voldo costume
is actually an homage to another Namco game. I remember an add in an issue of EGM with that exact character on it. Am I crazy? Is that costume a reference to something? Besides Alien I mean.
I dunno. That one always stood out to me as even more BDSM'y than his usual fare. Also Alien.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyAh. Found it. It's from the Namco game, Ghosthunter. See?
◊ He's even on the cover.

I don't think all the rest were references. At least not, Talim's, Raphael's or Ivy's.
The only one I knew was a reference was Cassandra, because obvious Valkyrie is obvious, and even then I just thought it was a reference to the concept.
Astaroth's third stood out to me as "Why? Astaroth? Really?"
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWhat, Astaroth's executioner look? Fits in with his character just fine. Although the random bolts sticking out are a little odd. That, and I don't know how he would see.
As long as we're talking about that costume I may as well mention this page
chronicling video game characters who look alike. I submitted that very costume for Astaroth and a pic of this guy from Teen Titans. On the same page you can also find Cervantes and Revolver Ocelot.
Yeah, the one in your link. He already has an executioner mask one in a different costume, with the dark purple mask with purple skin. I just don't get what's going on in that third costume of his.
That Teen Titans mook is neither a video game character, nor an actual character, nor an actual look alike to Astaroth beyond the executioner theme, though.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyDidn't expect it, really. The way they're running the facebook stuff, they've got a lot of time to stall. And I don't really expect anything until near Tekken 7's release.
They'll turn your world around![]()
Yeah that... is not surprising.
Honestly, I figure the series is functionally dead for now, or at least to the point that if there is some sort of announcement, they're going to be very clear about reviving it.
I doubt they'll tease or drag out a lengthy announcement of the game, as they really may need quick interest in it. If there is something that comes up, either they'll announce pretty clearly before a convention, or they'll actually make a straight up game announcement of some sort.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyYeah. SCV was a straight up Franchise Killer.
... maybe if we're lucky characters will get expies in Tekken, or even just show up in a Tag Tournament without explanation.

Yeah I just ended up unlocking the medium difficulty by just playing the game enough times. Night Terror on hard was hard, but the win always felt exhilarating
beat him with a few created characters and original characters.
