The current image doesn't show any obvious disability, and the caption does not relate to the trope at all. I suggest katawa shoujo.

Bikko?

There's tons of images of her, so feel free to peruse. Be aware that the site is most certainly not safe for work.

The OP's not a bad suggestion, but I think it'd be just as easy to find a different pic of Oracle. Here's one of the best I found.

I don't like the legless girl at all.

That one is inconveniently shaped for the wiki though, even with cropping. More vertically oriented images are easier to fit in.

Amputee rating:Safe gives some good possibilities as well. (NSFW adds, images should be "safe", but let the viewer beware)

I think someone like Oracle might be better. Scars/missing limbs are a turn off for a lot of people.

And? We aren't here to assuage people's prejudices (this is pretty much the concept behind the Bikko character as it is...).

I don't care that much, but just using a girl who's 100% normal except that she's sitting in a chair with wheels seems rather...missing the larger point.

*blink* She's not in the chair for shits and giggles. I GIS'd Katawa Shoujo but I didn't care for most of what I found.

I think the point here would be to demonstrate the trope, not to appeal to any one's personal preferences. So, the more obviously disabled (while still being attractive) the character the better. [up]A missing leg is definitely more demonstrating than a wheelchair.

The problem with the Katawa Shoujo girl is that she appears to have Generic Cuteness of most anime characters, while someone like Oracle is going to have Heroic Build going on, which is much more in line with what is normally considered attractive.

However, I would like to point out that the current picture is bad because she's not visibly disabled, she appears to have fallen down, as if in a fight.

Motion to pull current image.

Thirding motion to pull. Oracle is this trope, but that image is a bad example.

I don't see why one form of attractiveness (Heroic Build) should be preferred over another (Generic Cuteness)

Do we need/have a separate trope for "disabled but cute"?

I don't see why, I don't think its common enough to warrant two separate tropes for whats really just a preference issue.

I still think Katawa Shoujo fits better, if not just for the variety of disabilities. There should be an image with all of them in it.

There's a good one of the cast, but it's already on the work page, unfortunately. Also, there are only two of the girls that have obvious disabilities.

Pulled the current pic with the thirding, and added a hidden tag about the pull and this thread.

[up]Still beats a wheelchair. Edit: Wait, three actually. One with no arm, one with no legs, and one with face burns. Maybe an image with just those three?

If we can get a good pic of those three, so much the better, but that could be tricky.

My preference for Heroic Build over Generic Cuteness is that while both are art styles, one features exaggerated secondary sexual characteristics. She's also setting off my Jail Bait alarm which is annoying.

How about Dina Meyer as TV's Oracle?

Or from the comics:

  • Babs in a crop from the "Ladies of DC" poster (probably possible to get a larger crop/scan if need be.)
  • From "Oracle: The Cure", which was notable for giving Babs huge breasts and way too many fanservicey shots, even by comics standards.

The last one is good. Noticeable Fanservice is a great way to imply a character is supposed to be attractive.
