Stewart thinks we should have shown the images, although his point is a good one.
We should have been seeing images of the war like Aljazeera did, then maybe Americans would have seen the war for the ugly shit it really was and not some fucking Call of Duty game.
I can't deny that.
Still think the choice was a good one, let people get upset, there'd be more damage done if it spread. (Although he did offer the idea of letting famous journalists get a look at the picture)
It's not just that it's gory, but that it's potentially inflammatory.
Nil, a new sci-fi/horror story that you should read and review! (Updated 4/something) ''The gate opens. No, but it could jump Muslim Hate from level 60 to level 80 just like that.
Just like that.

For that to be a valid criticism, you have to prove that the demographic that approves of those films and disproves of this is the same.
For what it's worth, I think Saw and Hostel are dumb. Much like this.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchCarney said that the president does not want the photos used as propaganda or as a trophy of America's success at capturing and killing the al Qaeda mastermind.
I think these are more of the reason than the fact that they are graphic.

here when he says this is one of the key things that differentiates Barack Obama from George W. Bush — Obama is a statesman who doesn't revel in brutality and doesn't celebrate bloodlust. It's a marked contrast to Bush's macho posturing and cavalier attitude towards killing (check out Bush's track record on the Texas death penalty
sometime).
As President Obama said, "it's not who we are."

That would have qualified as Did Not Do The Research, then, as if he had he would realize that Americans don't ride American trains anyway.
It's ok, neither are Californians.
California and New York suck ass, they are my two least favorite states.
But if I had to choose, at least California has nice weather. Why would I go someplace that has shitty frigid weather and a batshit insane legislature that hates guns even more than Cali?
And we're not much of a target for terrorist attacks. Because of the earthquakes we build horizontally, not vertically.

And here I was thinking we were talking about the Japanese trains.

The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.

Clinton was far from perfect, but "handled them poorly" is not an excuse to rant "people I know were affected by the cuts." If we avoid decisions that affect us personally, nothing will ever get done.
(And I'm still advocating cuts in the Defense budget even though there's a very good chance I will be directly affected by them. I put my money where my mouth is.)
