@Usht: I'm not judging anyone. Good for them. I'm just saying the idea makes me uncomfortable. Celebrate saving lives, yes. Death... I don't know.
Also, are you really asking an Irish person if they have any experience of terrorism?
"You can only come to the morning through the shadows."That's fair enough, I guess. Maybe I'm just disillusioned with the whole idea anyway, being as in Ireland death only really served to perpetuate the violence for years. Some of it even seems to be making a worrying resurgence now.
"You can only come to the morning through the shadows."Yeah, that's pretty much why I'll never celebrate just some random person dying, chances are, they were innocent. But this is a major leader who stands for radical views using violence, without him, it just might be better and he's definitely not innocent.
The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.Oh that, certainly — but a disturbing number of people are just celebrating the death of "some Saudi guy". Celebrating the downfall of a potentially dangerous figurehead, ok. But read the headlines of the newspapers and the slant of some of the quotes and it all comes across as gruesome. I'm happy he's dead; it's the "we [the US/the West] killed bin Laden hooray" attitude that scares me.

No-one's calling anyone a sociopath. Again, it's not the fact that he's gone that concerns me - it's the glorifying of death itself.
To clarify:
i) Glad he's gone.
ii) Agree death justified.
iii) Unnerved by number of people going "FUCK YEAH! FUCK HIM AND FUCK HIS SAUDI CORPSE! WE KILLED OSAMA!"

"You can only come to the morning through the shadows."It's a good thing he died, for sure, but you could say that about ANYONE who is responsible for the deaths of thousands, regardless of their allegiance or PR. What I find sort of ghoulish is this rampant gloating. Like I said, it's a good thing they got him, but the gloating makes people look like pigs.
EDIT: Also, I don't like people who start hopping on your nuts because you say that the americans killed more people in 10 years of war trying to get the guy than he ever did in all of his attacks combined. That's not meant to defend the guy, it's just the truth.

I'm glad he's dead I suppose. I just don't see what the big deal is and know full well this wont change anything where I live. We'll just have a bunch of dumb rednecks acting like we've won the war on terror because theyre too functionally retarded to realize killing one figurehead isnt gonna mean the war ends like some sort of patriotic movie.
Either that or they'll attempt to spend the next week insulting muslims in general because they "won"

Not specifically on this forum, but in general.
The **** was up with the video I posted last night. Both videos I tried are still not able to be embedded.

Requiem ~ September 2010 - October 2011 [Banned 4 Life]Bin Laden mini - videography
- the first of many to come, I imagine.
I must admit that I am also not 100% convinced.
@The Dickhead KR: Gloating would be something like:
"Hey you sumbitch, did you really think hiding out in a goddamn mansion was a smart thing to do? You know we're really good at traveling around the world to kill people, figured you would of learned something over this last decade. Oh well, that's what you get for pushing your luck; rot in piss."
I just said he got shot; just stating a fact. FYI, you should of typed "We shot that Saudi fuck in the chest..."; grammar and all that.
Toodles.

I got word that they were burning some effigies in NYC; gotta love that irony.
