So you've an extremely skill based mind control. I suppose questions that arise would be, how might you defend against it (if the individual himself cannot do anything, or you don't have anyone else to reverse the arrangement), are you able to detect it via a third party? I suppose if more such spirits exist then more than one person could have this mind control power.

I have two settings where Mind Control is a major plot point. One of them I'm really proud of how I designed the Mind Control. The inspiration came from the music video of Seether's Breakdown
, where his psycho girlfriend turns his head into a Rubik's cube and starts rearranging stuff.
The one who does this is a kid possessed (more of a symbiotic relationship) by a magic-eating spirit, and he can only do it on vampires and other supernatural beings. He phases his spirit hands into the guy's head, where he feels a bunch of little balls connected by strings. He disconnects stuff or rearranges it, but it takes a lot of skill to do anything other than cause random brain injury-style dysfunctions. Also, the vampire's brain tends to fix itself somewhat during the daytime sleep, so he has to figure out how to trick it into not noticing the problems by minimizing loose connections.
Anyway, it's limited, since he can only do it by touching the guy's head, and it's easy to end up with the victim being Not Himself. But it's also very powerful, since you can do almost anything to them if you know how, and there's no Fighting from the Inside because the person's very personality is part of what you're altering. Heroic Willpower makes no difference to the effects of this power, since you probably wouldn't even know you weren't yourself.
If I'm asking for advice on a story idea, don't tell me it can't be done.
