I never went to prom. It was a few years later when I found out that it wasn't as corny as I thought it was (I figured it to be teachers patrolling everything and nothing but Creed blasting out the speakers).
So, I was told it was slightly less corny.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I'm not going to prom. I left high school at 16 (2 years ago) to take classes at college instead. I'll be getting my AA degree in about 5 weeks.
Misanthrope SupremeWe don't have prom, we have a 'formal'. I wore a dark blue dress and had my hair up in a french roll; the day after I went and got all my hair lopped off. The reactions on Monday morning were cool.
I went alone though. I would have gone with my best friend, but we were already considered wierd enough. We were supposed to be going as a group of 6 friends, but everyone else went and got dates
Mine (formal, that is, since Australia doesn't do prom) is...next year, I think.
I'll probably pass, since I doubt I'll be in a relationship by that time and I'd probably find more enjoyment from doing bugger all than going there alone.
Against all tyrants. The only thing I like about prom is post-prom season when I can buy AMAZING multi-hundred dollar dresses for fifty bucks or under. I don't use them for anything but costume bait, but who cares??
A few years ago I got a strapless sparkly lime green dress that's just the most perfect Tinkerbell dress you ever did see. ![]()

Why a designer thought this would be a good prom dress I don't know. And I don't care.
Do you guys not do casual homecoming/prom dates where you are? Or don't you want to ask anyone? Anyways I can assure you that if you have friends to hang out with going will still be fun, admittedly I had a date but I had friends without dates who had a great time.
I didn't have a date for prom nor did I want one. I also did not have a date for the grad night trip to Disneyland. In fact I didn't even hang out with a group of friends. I basically just ran about the park all night long by myself and enjoyed my moment of freedom. I also occasionally talked to some of the people in the lines. Two people from another city invited me over to eat with them since I was alone. I will always remember those two and their random act of kindness.

A), I attend an all-boys school so I've had no contact with girls my age for years now, and B) I'd hilarious awkward in situations like that, especially since I wouldn't be surprised if my entire main friendgroup passed on the thing to play Eve or something.

Against all tyrants.

And related activities.
I expected it to be not-so-great and generally overrated, but it was actually ridiculously fun.
