I initially thought it was 'The One Guy', but then I saw 'that' and I thought it might be "homeless person" or "some kind of loner". I suppose it's not too far away from the actual trope, but it's definitely non indicative enough that it needs a rename.

Please consider supporting my artwork on PatreonThe problem is that it sounds like it's from That One Index (I hope that's the right link), which makes it similar to That One Boss or whatever. If it's specifically the guy who plays the game, That One Player might work better.
Fight smart, not fair.I think it fits quite well into That One Index, That One Player.
Do we need an SP crowner?
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.
Probably, if only because it's standard wiki procedure and someone will complain if we bypass it.
That One Guy makes me think of a normal character that become That One Boss when the computer controls them. That One Player sounds like a good idea.
That One Player sounds ALOT better. Only other name I can think of is That One Gamer to make it even more video game specific.
I don't know how this came to be, but it shall be no more.
Perhaps That One Gamer or maybe even The Super Gamer or maybe even Gamer Ultimatum.
The Blog The ArtAs I said in that thread about That One Index, I am definitely a fan of renaming That One Guy, partially because I believe that the trope does not really fit with the other "That One W" type tropes. I also feel like a less gender specific name would be better too.
I am fine with That One Player as the new name, but I would like to see this part of the trope somehow referenced the name regardless of what the actual new name would be since I feel like it is an important part of the trope. Your Mileage May Vary there though.
Does anyone have any idea where this came from? I, too, mistook it for The One Guy.
I think Gamer Ultimatum is incredibly bad because ultimatum is a very different word. Gamer Supreme, Uber Gamer, Wonder Gamer, whatever. But this sounds too much like Those Two Guys, or That One Guy as a villain or something.
Fight smart, not fair.If we're not going to snowclone, I like Uber Gamer.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Uber Gamer is good. Or... how's Game Breaking Gamer sound?

Even more self-explanatory, that one.
I suggest switching to an alt. name crowner after one or two more days.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.I think the point of the trope isn't that he's really good, it's that he's the best guy in his playgroup and he always outmatches everyone else. And that's not the same as being an amazing player—you just have to be better than your friends. Like, I'm not actually that good at Guitar Hero, but I'd be That One Guy at it because all my family and friends are playing Easy or Medium or maybe struggling on Hard while I get 4- and 5-star scores on Expert.
Gamer With Lots Of Practice? After all, the description does say that the gamer spends more time playing the game and as a result becomes better at it than the others.
Please consider supporting my artwork on PatreonI made an alternate titles crowner here
. Feel free to edit it and add names as you see fit. Also, if I made any mistakes, I would appreciate it if you could tell me about them so I could be better prepared to avoid making them in the future.

Crown Description:

Guess That Trope!
That One Guy describes someone who has played a game so much, discovered all the secrets, knows all the moves, hell, he might as well have gotten the timing down to the point where he plays with almost super human reflexes.
