For a Conspiracy Thriller story, I have an MIB decide he doesn't really like his job. So he comes up with A Simple Plan: contacting various members of otherworldly factions, he offers the codes, lists, and various other secrets allowing them to bypass his organization's intense security protocols around the planet to whoever/whichever of them can make him the best offer. Basically: An Auction for First Contact.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?? A lot, it turns out, but that's not the main reason I'm here. I'm looking for possible factions that would be interested in such a deal, and what those interests would involve. So far, I have:

Other factions I'm less sure about:

  • A Too Dumb to Live Reptilian cabal with an incredibly circuitous Zany Scheme powered by Insane Troll Logic to replace the leaders of Earth. (Y'know, the more I write this, the more it sounds like a great comedy.)

  • "Knights of Columbus" (not their actual name, and not the real life Catholic organization): A Templar/Freemason group dedicated to defending "the Grail in America" (whatever that actually means).

  • The Boogey Men: A loose fraternity of Things That Go "Bump" in the Night.

Okay, Suggestions?

There should be a faction of gas giant-dwelling beings. Y'know, just for the fun of it.

Also, try to think of sub-factions. Schisms always make for interesting conflicts.

Might post more ideas later.

You're twist on the Greys is actually a somewhat common belief in Ufology.

Have you considered an insectoid group? They could fit as part of the Boogey men.
