This is gonna be a doozy...
Sarah Nexus, being completely and utterly loyal to those she loves, would simply be happy to forever reincarnate with her loved one even if they can't be together- Even potentially forsaking her attempts at a reunion so they can be happy.
Cornelius Hawking, though, would gradually go insane being forever kept from his beloved- Thus, either trying to forget them, undergoing various different forms of hallucinations about them, or even go Well-Intentioned Extremist trying to find a solution.
Faith Long & Ryan Steele, being more or less Demisexuals, would admittedly be well off if they didn't encounter their beloved- Though if they're able to remember them, that's another story. While both would be eager to reunite, Faith is more likely to resign herself to defeat (even moreso if she's a more unfortunate variant) whereas Ryan Steele would borderline Angst? What Angst? given how chipper he is.
Suffering!Samson Cresting would try pretending everything is cool, yet he'll also slip up occasionally regarding his real feelings- Rage and sorrow. Though while he may condemn Existence Itself, he'll busy himself with heroism- Yet the moment he thinks he can be reunited, he'll become singlemindedly focused to the point he's willing to forsake the consequences if nobody convinces him otherwise.
Chill!Samson Cresting, though ultimately a mere difference in temperament, that does mean a different reaction as well- Specifically, much more casual about the whole situation, though the whole "Star Crossed Lovers" bit will annoy him if people keep going on about it. He'll still try going for any opportunities, but only ones he thinks won't end badly- Still, if he's rolling nothing back bad options long enough, he'll become the Suffering variant.
Penelope Geneva aka "Penny Gear", is effectively The Pollyanna (willingly or not), so she'll take it all in stride- Thus, never giving up hope at all that they'll be reunited, even if it becomes increasingly more unlikely. So one would be forgiven thinking she's taking denial and delusion Up To Eleven, though if one prods enough she'll admit things don't look good- "But giving up hope doesn't reunite us!"
Honestly I could keep going for a long time, so I'll stop. Anyways, for the new situation...
Your character has to deal with a Abomination made from them, who is innocent- Yet also being raised to ultimately become a tool of destruction.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."
Not that unlikely to happen in my setting, so why not?
The Prophet probably sends a squad of pyrokinectics to burn the general location the being is to the ground. If the place is too populous for it to be done stealthly he instead tries to disguise a few templars as the city's peacekeeping millitia and has their memories of the incident erased from their brains after they return... even if they are unwilling. If it is too much for the Divinatorium to deal with, he hesitantly asks Oracle Tirennis to gather allies in the government, if firepower is needed, or in the council of Immortals, as many are unnatural beings themselves.
Cira would try to free it from its masters and take it as a protegee if it was not agressive and less experienced or powerful than him. If it was more powerful and experienced than him he would try to intimidate it into submission after freeing it. It would backfire either way, as Cira is an horrible teacher.
Baron Verez "Vev" Teberes would invite it for tea. It wouldn't backfire. In fact, the being would leave visibly shaken, yet fully loyal to Vev and his family. Needless to say, what took place during said meeting is better left unsaid.
Your character's protegee/apprentice/child/younger sibling turned into a villain because of your character's actions and exemple, and no, it isn't brainwashing or lies from an antagonist. Why did it happen?

"The dried flowers are so beautiful, and it applies to all things living and dead."Hmm, intriguing...
Alison Anderson/Hammer, being the pragmatical sort and determined to complete her objectives regardless of what she has to do, she can easily become a high level Anti-Hero or even Anti-Villain Protagonist. Thus someone that doesn't understand her or her Moral Code would think she's just a straight up ruthless bitch- When in actuality she just takes Pragmatism to an extreme, fully being heroic. Thus, Poor Communication Kills plus a complete misunderstanding of her would be how she unintentionally creates villains from her example.
Destiny Long, when not a mess, is a very chipper Cool Big Sis to her younger brothers. Regardless of if she introduced her brothers to their shared hobby or not, she's generally the one putting the most focus on where their ideas should go and who keeps them from just quitting. Frequently, her being the "Motivation Fairy" to her brothers will become a Gone Horribly Wrong action, since this results in her brother Gerald to commit numerous crimes all in the name of perfecting a means to resurrect a dead loved one.
Jason Logan Roswell is basically defined by Not What It Looks Like, so inevitably any apprentices or protegee would mistake him for a villain when all he's trying to do is fix things. However, as someone that toys with augmentation, creation, and minds/souls he's also imparting them the necessary skills or even direction to eventually become his own personal villain- Either because they're violent towards him or have gone off the deep end doing the same things he was trying to stop.
Your character eventually learns the Big Bad's Dragon is actually one of their biological/reproduction-equivalent parents, also making the Quirky Miniboss Squad their half-siblings- How do they react?

"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Thorn would be shocked that that's what his missing father has been up to all these years, but probably not overly bothered. After all, he's assumed that the man abandoned them or died long ago, so converting him to villein status isn't that hard. More difficult would be the existence of more half-siblings. He already loves the one he knew about very much- should he try to befriend these ones too?
Mirri would be extremely upset and probably take a long time to get used to the idea. Her parents may have been always working, but she still knew they loved her. So why are they doing something so evil? The half-siblings would be interesting, but not as big of a shock as her parents.
Your character is struggling to learn how to perform a task that's considered basic knowledge in their culture (such as reading, cooking, or driving in the modern united states)
Ivy Timberland/Geneva, the adorable Shrinking Violet she is, would have a lot of difficulty not messing up if it was a stranger teaching her. Things would be a lot easier if it was someone familiar or a person she likes however, but even then she has to be coaxed into mastering the concept.
Melissa Winters, proudly possessing Skewed Priorities, would likely have willfully forsaken this basic skill- Thus she'll have to be convinced it is important enough to learn for her to put in any serious effort. Otherwise she'll clearly be annoyed and bored, wanting to do something really important instead of learning this nonsense.
Trisha Mallard, being a disabled young lady, tends to be rather sheltered by her father & grandparents- Thus be it blindness or just terrible motor skills, she's usually limited to a small area. Thus any neglected skills were neglected for her, meaning she has to learn the very concept itself before she can master the skill.
Your character learns that those within the same group as them, a bloodline, occupation, settlement, etc are eventually doomed to a corruption of some kind- Even potentially becoming one of the greatest threats- Yet they have no way of knowing what their corruption will do until it happens.

"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Paz: Start hitting the books and try to figure out a way to stop it.
Blake: if he was told this by a stranger, he'd probably just ignore them or start hitting them until they leave. If he knows for sure, he'd start brainstorming a way to fight it off using some sort of physical violence.
Gwyn: Seperate everyone who would become corrupted (including himself), by force if necessary.
Scarlett: Run from the problem. Don't stop running.
Your character(s) find themselves in the company of a lost child, far from home. He doesn't know how to get back. What do they do with him?
The above post should be taken with a good amount of salt. 126% of whatever comes out of my mouth is intended sarcasm, humor, or hyperbole.Garrett will try to take the child in and care care of him. His brother, Mick, will just call the cops and try to get rid of the child as quickly and humanely possible.
Your character is visited by a wish-granting entity. They will grant two wishes, but the entity will only make one true with no strings attached. The other will come true in the worst way possible. The entity is known for being a bit unfair. Will your character make the wishes knowing this? If so, which one becomes a nightmare more than a dream come true?
Life is hard, that's why no one survives.Working off the assumption that the characters wouldn't know which wish would come true in which way:
Soren doesn't take the deal. There's only a few things he really wants, and they're too easy to corrupt for him to try such a risky endeavor.
Eska might take it, depending on where in the story she is. At the start, her greatest wishes are for people to accept her and for her to find a purpose in life. She'd probably try to find a way to word those such that they'd be harder to corrupt, but take it. Later on, when she finds both acceptance and purpose, her desires shift more towards protecting and continuing what she has, so she'd be less likely to risk what she has on a wish that may not work.
Misha would take it, wishing for his father to accept him as his son and for magic to become accepted in normal society, thus becoming an Unwitting Instigator of Doom when the entity finds some way to twist the wish (no matter how carefully worded) into killing off all of non-mage humanity.
Your character wakes up one morning to find that all of their money and resources have disappeared, leaving only the clothes on their back and whatever powers or skills they have. If they had friends who would have been willing to bail them out or provide large amounts of money or influence, they still exist but are somehow unable to help them
Lennik immediately goes bandit hunting. Wiping out bandits and plundering their treasure is how he feeds himself and pays for his drinks anyway, and since his hedonistic spending habits keep him in that cycle, it's not uncharted territory or anything.
Takon, on the other hand, has more to lose. He has a knighthood, and if he lost that he would have to resort to similar tactics as his roommate Lennik, which would keep him fed, but not proud. He decides to join Eastwall's army and build his reputation back up again. The setting does have a little upward mobility, but for knights to enjoy it, they have to really distinguish themselves. He would have a harder time of it than Lennik, whose goals and desires are pretty simple by comparison.
Your character is invited to work as a guard for a Royal Brat in a countrywide ambassador visit. The pay is phenomenal, but the travel may be dangerous and your character cannot drink on the job.

- Captain Harmon Ross: He would pawn off the Royal Brat to his crew, assigning an officer to "protect" the kid, but as soon as said kid gets in his face?

- Lt Cmdr. Averil Craft (AE-361), the commander of Victory's fighter squadron: She would give the Royal Brat a Space Fighter ride showing off the "super-maneuverability" of her fighter. Either the child would have nightmares or she'd use the prospect of rides to bribe the kid into good behavior. Failing that, she'd threaten the Royal Brat with being left alone with Commander Sima or a lecture from Lieutenant Colonel Smith...

- Lieutenant Colonel Frederic "Colonel Storytime" Smith: Would lecture the Royal Brat on human morality, the code of conduct and other topics that would either leave the kid bored to tears or throwing another tantrum. Even Smith has his limits however.
- The Smart Ones —
- Trickster variant: Lt. Casey Morgan Stelarc DX-1000, Chief Engineer: would put the Royal Brat inside an EVA suit and convince the kid to hid in his quarters from a "radiation leak".

A person your character is escorting to safety has fallen in love with your character, after the Anguished Declaration of Love, what does your character do?

I tried to walk like an Egyptian and now I need to see a Cairo practor....A person your character is escorting to safety has fallen in love with your character, after the Anguished Declaration of Love, what does your character do?
Okay, going to just use an Official Couple for this:
Evren has been escorting Aurelio - as for why they would choose a random 22-year-old musician to guard a prince, I guess they have their reasons. Or they taught him music-magic for the mission. Aurelio is insecure, because he doesn't think he deserves to be a prince. A lot of people consider him a failure, because he wasn't able to learn the magic he needs for the role. So he thinks Evren probably sees him as a waste of space and a bother. But he tells him his feelings anyway. Meanwhile, Evren has been trying to hide how much he's into Aurelio, because he'd think they'd never be able to see each other after the mission is over. But when he hears that, and he realizes that Aurelio feels that way about him, he'd just smile, gently place his hand on Aurelio, and... I guess they'd kiss, and not say much, because it's sweeter without too much talking? Or they'd sing, since Aurelio is a musician, too. He plays the lyre.

Tlarn is often responsible for rescuing Stetsii, because Stetsii is extremely unlucky. Tlarn thinks that theirs is a marriage of convenience, and that even though she loves Stetsii the feeling will never be fully reciprocated. The truth is that Stetsii is just an uppity, pretentious jackass. After a certain Humiliation Conga, he realizes that he can't take other people for granted and tells her that he loves her. She is surprised, but very pleased. She doesn't say anything, however. She just gets him to safety. After a few minutes of keeping him guessing, she kisses him.
Your character is approached on the street by a stranger who asks if he can borrow your character's phone to call his mother.
Caleb would probably know the guy —he knows all the shady business around—, invite him a drink and chat about family, life, people conned... Caleb would totally have an interesting story to tell of his latest job. They would part as Caleb goes on his camper with the cops behind, as usual.

HALOLA PEEPUHL!! HOWAYAAAAAAAAAA?!!
Bulletproof would give him his phone and watch him quietly, listening to make sure everything is ok. He wouldn't interrupt regardless, but if he thinks he heard something shady, he would tail the person and make sure everything is ok.
Your character just watched a werewolf kill their loved ones, then the werewolf turned into a person, who explained he has no control over their wolf state. What do they do?
Moo Glory to the cow gods! Moo
Sheila would probably go full throttle Unstoppable Rage and slaughter the werewolf before they got the chance to explain themselves. She may try to show mercy to the Myths she fights more often nowadays to atone for her past Van Helsing Hate Crimes, but anyone who kills who she cares about is three seconds away from going to the Underworld.
Pedestrian X would be seconds away from a Super-Strength powered No-Holds-Barred Beatdown, but if any of his Superhero comrades are around to restrain him and calm him down, he will simply take the werewolf to the nearest police station and let whatever form of superhuman law and regulation sort it out.
A Super Registration Act is enacted in your story's world. How is your character affected, and how do they react?
edited 25th Jul '16 7:33:48 PM by MapleSamurai
Yuichi would wonder who in the world holds the amount of power necessary to restrict super-powered individuals...especially since that (A) the people of Herezar are able to take care of themselves regardless of what comes along; (B) the priests, receiving their powers from Deoth, are technically the only good-aligned superpowered people around, and are kind of necessary to keep their enemies in check; (C) the only other superpowered faction in the world is demonkind, who are Always Chaotic Evil and wouldn't respond to a Super Registration Act anyway. Being as Dangerously Genre-Savvy as they are, they might even find a way to use it their advantage.
Your character finds that someone has changed the nature of gravity in their world, so that instead of falling down, they now fall towards the nearest glacier, even if its on the other side of the planet.

Hayley: I knew it. Micah had something to do with this. Ellen: are you sure Hayley. There's plenty of other villains that could do such a thing you know. Hayley: nope I am positive. I my calculations never fail. Ellen: (rolls eyes) give me a break Note: micah is a powerful coyote spirit that can warp reality itself. Your characters go to a costume party but the twist is one of them might be the a monster in disguise
MIAAU!Thanatos would find this heartwarming and one of the few ways to socialize with humans... since he would be the monster in "disguise". Specifically, a humanoid, human-sized Wetware CPU killbot that most people would shun/avoid, but since it's a costume party, they'd think he's just one of them and accept him as if he was the human he used to be.
Calia: Thanks to being able to detect souls, she'd be able to figure out who the "monster" is... turns out it's the Guardian Entity of her boyfriend, which so happens to be a humanoid, nearly human-sized Animated Armor. "Felix, your Destin's trying to be funny."
If the monster isn't anybody's Guardian though... she would try to send a telepathic message to all the non-monsters to evacuate the area, then deal with the monster.
Your character returns to a place they have once visited, only to find out that everything's changed.
...ehehThis has already happened a few times across Herezar, since it's a place in which any changes that take place stick. So, without further ado....
Jani looks at the ruins of Nujar, and sighs. He explores the charred remains, and sheds a tear over the ashes of his old hut. However, he knows that what's done is done, and that he has to move on. Once he's done reminiscing, he shoulders his pack and turns west to Kordsgard. He does not look back.
Tyyni, being the Plucky Genki Girl that she is, isn't exactly phased by the changes that have occurred to the Family Business. After all, even though a bunch of new crew members have joined, a few of the old ones are traumatized (though managing to cope), and some of the old griffons are gone, at the end of the day, it's still the Family Business. She grabs a hold of Fuzzles, and runs off to find her sisters.
Your character manages to obtain your universe's Infinity +1 Sword. The catch is that it has become inhabited by an Eldritch Abomination that will possess the wielder. Worse, if they hang onto the weapon long enough, said entity will destroy their soul and take over their body.
edited 6th Aug '16 6:13:59 PM by TempestKnight
The Elemental Guardians of Mystrica already have their Infinity +1 Sword: the power to invoke the resident Olympus Mons to do their bidding. Let's say one day said 'mons (the Elemental Goddesses) turn evil and possess their Guardians. Said possession will likely be the work of a virus courtesy of Big Bad Virtualmon, whom they will become servants to. The Guardians will command the goddesses to wreak havoc all over Mystrica (since they also happen to be Cosmic Keystones), while Virtualmon gets what he wanted by turning the world into Mordor. The only force standing against him at that point will be the Black Cat Bandits, who will likely join forces with Vi Willow in a desperate attempt to destroy Virtualmon by infiltrating the Techno Mafia (whose boss is The Dragon to Virtualmon), but they'll have a much more difficult time doing so.
Satsuma obtains the Magic Staff of her late grandmother, who was The High Queen of Crownen. But it has been corrupted by the spirit of Crownen itself, a great bird which gave shape to the land. This power will allow her to single-handedly take out Mornain and the Sakh, and she will then rule Crownen as a great and terrible queen, engaging in the same forces of terror that the Big Bad used to. The staff will soon disintegrate, along with her soul.
Durnem obtains the same staff as above, and immediately abandons her own Magic Staff in favor of it. Like Satsuma, she will proceed to wipe out the Sakh, but will instead carry the staff to the Magic Lands, which were sealed off while Mornain ruled. There she will be considered the strongest warrior of the Oradamin, but will punish and kill without thought, losing all sense of morality. This will prompt the rest of the Oradamin to try and subdue her, breaking the staff and throwing her in prison.
If the group of college students that are part of a research project where they obtain and use Psychic Powers inherit the dream-controlling abilities of Eldritch Abomination Nightfright:
- Gon will use the ability to instill horrible nightmares in a bunch of supposedly "evil" authority figures, and losing his sense of morality, will proceed onto several "good" authority figures as well, and even random civilians, essentially becoming worse than Nightfright himself.
- Ari will use her newfound powers to create a dream world that plays out like a video game, which soon becomes a Death World that people are forever locked in.
- Zuri will know the implications and try to get rid of the ability, without success. She'll commit suicide before it takes complete control of her, but will find that her spirit is still bound by the ability and becomes Nightfright's accomplice.
- Lupin will do the same thing as Zuri, wishing his unrequited lover Yamiko the best with her fiance as he dies. Except due to his Dark and Troubled Past, his spirit will simply implode.
- Vicky will try to use the ability to reverse Nightfright's nightmares by instilling good dreams, but over time those dreams will be replaced by nightmares. Meanwhile the other students will try to use their own powers to stop her.
- Merlin will have the same intentions as Vicky, but along with instilling nightmares instead, will do a full-on turn to The Dark Side and become an evil sorcerer.
- Yamiko will be pleased by having the ability, and will immediately use it to turn her fiance insane for the purpose of simplifying her Love Triangle. She'll then become The Starscream, vanquishing Nightfright but replacing him as a more fearsome queen of nightmares.
- Amanda will also be pleased by the ability and betray Nightfright (more quickly than Yamiko would), but since she also wields an Agony Beam, it'll be very easy for her to jump right off the Moral Event Horizon and become an agonizing nightmare-inducing monster.
Your character stumbles upon a restaurant staffed by The Fair Folk, who read into customers' souls and use that information to serve their patrons a meal consisting of their favourite foods and drinks. What is your character served, and how do they react to the whole setup?

Come, my child of the devil. Your mother is calling you. Hear my call in Hell's grand hall, where all our dreams come true.- John would be properly paranoid about the fact the food happens to be his favorite meal, coffee with a side of bagels ( acts like a little adult you see)
- Wilbur wouldn't give a damn and go right ahead and enjoy his meal. Though he's a bit irked that place doesn't look organized enough.
- Just like John, Andre suspects theirs fynari magic at work here. He begins think up a plan beforehand.
- Jake wouldn't care anyhow since he's too busy munching on his food.
- mitsuru is utterly thrilled at how lovely the food in here is.
- eventually they all realized something is a bit odd about this particular restaurant. They all find out it's being run by a bunch of unseelie fynari (fair folk) who are trying to fatten them up in order to consume their souls. The boys aren't having none of that and transform into their nature warrior forms (gea'kai). They manage to banish off to where they hailed from after they defeated them.
Your character ends up in jail for a crime they didn't commit and now they have to figure out a way to escape.
edited 8th Aug '16 6:03:31 AM by ewolf2015
MIABulletproof would wait out the sentence trying to figure out who committed the crime. Pyro would have a tough time as he is legally dead but would probably melt his way out. Physician would convince the guards there is a pandemic in the prison and calmly leave in the ensuing chaos.
Your character finds a mirror that shows them what they want most and what they fear simultaneously. (Like, batman would see himself saving his parents and killing the perp) what would your character see?
Moo Glory to the cow gods! MooThis would be one of the most ironic things for Rosie, since what she wants most is to do whatever she wanted (preferably fighting zombies and surviving without much care in the world), but her fear is being restrained in some kinda lab, getting her panacea-like blood drawn from her every day.
Said mirror would probably thus show Rosie fighting zombies and being carefree in some kinda virtual simulation while simultaneously having her restrained in a lab while having her blood constantly drawn.
She'd comment that "That's like, what I fucking love, yet what I fucking fear at the same goddamn time! I'd better show this thingy to the others!"
Your character discovers that the MacGuffin is within a living person and the only way to obtain said MacGuffin involves hurting/possibly killing the person.

...ehehJo is okay with hurting someone to get it, so long as they agree and they won't be hurt too badly. She is utterly against causing serious injury to the person or killing them, and will be very loud and obnoxious about this.
Bram is similar, but he's less obnoxious and more quietly threatening. He's a bit more likely to consider killing the person to get it, but he's still very reluctant.
Jacob smiles, and nods, and says he hates to ask, but he'd really like that thing, and are they willing to die so he can get it? It's a pain, yeah, but it's sort of important, you know? Heh. And if they refuse, he shrugs and sighs, ah well, what can you do, you know? Get in touch if you change your mind, yeah?
And then the person has an unfortunate accident in the middle of the night, and the thing mysteriously vanishes, and Jacob smiles in a friendly manner and has a beer with a pal.
...has the opportunity to accomplish their ultimate goal, but in doing so will ensure that someone close to them will never be able to accomplish theirs.
