I am officially both employed and exhausted. Somehow handed a resume and started my first shift within two hours of eachother but I'm not complaining. Well a maybe a little.

I will kick things tomorrow.

Well, I'm not quite sure how to put this, but we've lost a fellow troper and player.

Wolffang... is no longer with us.

Nothing is absolutely confirmed, but people I know have received fairly trustworthy confirmation that... yeah.

I'd rather not go into the details, but suffice to say we've all lost a friend and comrade.

I'm not quite sure how this will effect the Knights thread, but before that, I just had to let everyone know.

To Wolffang, then.

I don't think they knew me, or vice-versa.

Still, after... A year here with you all, any Aeris player feels like a friend.

Guys, I love you all.

To Wolffang.

To Wolffang.

Let's all have ourselves a good role play before we buy it too.

I've already offered my condolences for Wolf but it is always a shame when someone so young goes.

I've put some thought into how to withdrawl him from the game and my conclusion, ultimately, is to have his character pulled from the front and either honourably discharged off screen or left untouched, characters can speak their peace to him or we can have him go with little fanfare. I feel this is the most tasteful option I have, better than forcing a cosmic retcon or trying to force my direction on the character/riskning the other character's life as a background NPC as is a possibility is the case of most former P Cs.

What type of frame is a Spiteful, and a Howitzer for that matter, I can't seem to find it on the wiki.

They're Gaiden Made which isn't always covered on the wiki. Spiteful is a specific build of Spitfire common on Aeris.

Howiter is exactly what it is called, weak health, it gets one action doing damage equal to a medium weapon.

Well, for those of you still around, you've probably noticed Gaiden hasn't been updated in ages. I think in some cases we are waiting on players but largely it's my own fault and there's been a motivation drain on my own part. I feel like it's been coasting for a long time now, partially due to he sudden loss of the majority of the Centside while the Feds slowly lost plot hooks, because I built a lot around both teams specifically and spent a lot of my effort and brain power to repairing the dying side. Probably a mistake in retrospect. This wasn't helped by tensions in the maingame that I think could be best and most politely summed up as tension between Realist and Idealist camps that were confined to Skype rather than the forum which hurt the main game.

Recently, drama had put me off of visiting this site too often, which combined with the direction the site was going and the slowness of my R Ps and declining interest in new ones, made it a lot easier.

I still like this game but I don't feel like there's the same spark there was starting out. I might be interested in rebooting but it would take radical change and reform;

  • New characters which I'll want more detail on.
  • Reformed combat [scale is awesome but I'm rolling dozens to hundreds of dice for what's not necessarily a highly compelling combat. Making me take longer to update and not adding enough to the game].
  • Banning Skype for general discussion of the game.
  • Deadlines for posting.
  • An assistant DM for each side [in charge of rolling should I not be able to within deadline, given a few plot details and a command position].
  • And generally pulling my shit together for a fresh plot, as well as giving more interaction hooks and longer posts with more details.

There's also the possibility of Hydrall leading a major effort to reform the game into a single coherent unit rather than the rather patchwork setting of present. Which I'll keep you lot up to date with, particularly if there doesn't seem to be the numbers for a fresh game.

For now, it's safe to consider this incarnation over. I'm laying low on RPing though a few recommendations have been passed through to me that I will look at, I'm also trying my hand at a Let's Play Troper Blog. Should we start a fresh game, I will write them fitting epilogues and if requested, I might managed them in for a cameo.

My sincerest apologies to all of those who had hoped more from this RP. It was a pleasure creating as much of the world as we did with you and for the first time, I really feel like the the characters evovled into something beyond past even my total understanding and were able to stand on their own.

I do hope you all enjoyed the story for as far as it got.

Warmest Regards,

-Fauxlosophe.

It is a sad day, however, I must remember all the good times this RP has brought. We forged a damn fine RP, that lasted for almost a year, even if it was a bit slow a times. We made memorable characters and had some great times together.

Ladies and gentlemen, I salute you. This has been possibly the greatest RP I have ever participated in.

Faux, I understand your predicament, and I sympathize with you. I congratulate and thank you for your work so far.

So here it is midnight on Tuesday, regular crowd gathers round.
For months, the guns have gone silent, Aeris has moved without sound.

Faux says "Guys, it's been a bang up time, but I'm afraid this' this game's last post,
And everyone says, "Man that's just fine", as our glass goes up in a toast.

Weave us a tale, you're the Fauxlosophe! Build us a world to play,
'Cuz we're all in the mood for some gunfire, And we'll take yours any day.

Now Faux, the GM has been workin' hard,
But I'll be damned if he let it show,
And he's rollin' them dice, and he's checkin' 'em twice
For every time we spend ammo.

He said "Yes, I'm sorry it's over now," as we all read with bated breath,
"But I wanted to say it's been a helluva day, and now I'm writing your characters' deaths.

Oh, la la la, di da da,
La la, di da da da dum

And Lilith's buildin' a nu-clear bomb,
And Calvin's chasin' them girls,
And I think we once had a Kara,
But then she got eaten by squirrels~

Weave us a tale, you're the Fauxlosophe! Build us a world to play,
'Cuz we're all in the mood for some gunfire, And we'll take yours any day.

Now this buncha people's a high class crowd,
Some of the best ones here on the 'Tropes
And I remember back when I's new at this,
And they smiled and showed me the ropes

It's a pretty good group for a forum game,
And we clap our friends on the back,
'Cause we know that our fun's just begun,
Now let's load up for one more attack
And the forum guns have now quieted,
But the Centauri cannons roar on,
And the bastard Feds have now rioted,
But hell, our dreams'll live on!

Weave us a tale, you're the Fauxlosophe! Build us a world to play,
'Cuz we're all in the mood for some gunfire, And we'll take yours any day.

The best I could do at midnight. This has been a fun as hell year. I love my characters, and I hope to bring them into whatever new adventures we have.

And, hell, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I love you all. Every time I read the old pages of this thread, they're some of the funniest things I've read (and written!) at TV Tropes. A better bunch of people to do something like this, I couldn't find here.

Thanks, Faux. Thanks, you all. Thanks, lockonlockon, and whoever else made this possible. I salute you.

On to the next one, together!

I couldn't have asked for a better send off Rena.

I've tried a few times and I don't think the pace was going to pick up in this game as it stood, however while I do think it's run low on steam for now, I don't think this is quite the end of the Mythril verse or Aeris. But for the time being I do think I need a break and I'm happy to have ended it like this rather than dragging it out until it died quietly.

However I doubt this is the last that any of us will be seeing of each other, so here's to fond memories and a brighter future.
