If you want to vote for the Journey's End vanity contest finalists, you can do so here
. There's a lot of good entries here and I found it pretty hard to choose. Voting ends on April 24th.
New bosses and loot, obviously. Not sure if I'm going to bother with Journey mode - I've already built up three worlds with huge stores of resources and large bases, so why bother with a mode that requires a new character that cannot connect to the previous worlds? Yes, I know it's a great way to introduce new players to the franchise, especially since a God Mode exists which can be activated by the admin at any time, but at this point I'm pretty sure every friend I've met has been introduced to the franchise.
And it's finally out!
You'll have to download the T Mod Loader separately, and do keep in mind your friends will need to have it installed as well (mods included) or else they will not be able to play with you.
EDIT: T Mod Loader isn't compatible with the latest 1.43 update. According to Reg Edit, that's coming soon(ish).

The new update is great so far. The new music they added is especially awesome, and I think the Zoologist is my new favorite NPC. My only complaint is that worldgen still does crap like plop two Crimson biomes right on top of the jungle.
So hit 'em with a whole tidal wave ~ We're killing it the entire wayTmodloader works but you won't be playing 1.4 it plays a version of 1.3. However you may want to find and use the 64 bit from the forums, as the 32 bit is kind of wimpy and can have trouble with some of the larger mods. There is a wonky workaround you can find in the steam discussions if you want to use the framework for 32bit to launch and use 64 bit.
Who watches the watchmen? The new 1.4 traps that are worldgenned are nasty. There's the Rigged Chest that is wired to three Explosives, several Dart Traps, and three Boulderfalls, an Underground Desert trap with over a dozen Actuatored ceiling blocks wired to dump sand on you with a pressure pad, and other stuff like that.
There's also 2 versions of the Boulderfall trap, one using the traditional Active Stone blocks, and the new-tech ones that use actuators.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I thought my first Dungeon was bugged, hadn't generated properly, since the entry shaft just ended. Then I happened to set foot on the bottom and plunged screaming into the hallway beneath when the bricks collapsed beneath me.
Those crumbling blocks make the whole place so much more... well, "interesting" is one word to use. "Lethal" fits too, especially when the floor falls away to drop you into a deep, spike-lined pit.
I fell for the "blocked" entrance too, lol. Since the world I was on had other problems, I assumed it was crappy worldgen until I found out about the cracked bricks. They're a cool idea, but it'd be nice if they were a little easier to spot, especially with the Dungeon's lighting being not-great. I hear a Dangersense potion highlights them, though, so there's that, but still.
Speaking of worldgen, I decided to make another world to try to get one where the jungle wasn't right next to an evil biome, and on the first try I got one where the entire jungle side of the map was untouched by Corruption. I feel a little guilty switching over, but there was no way in heck I was gonna be able to deal with the Crimson in my first 1.4 world pre-Hardmode.
So hit 'em with a whole tidal wave ~ We're killing it the entire way
- IIRC, same.
I'm playing an Expert world before upgrading to Master Mode. I want the cool things first. Also I'll want some disposable worlds to grab Enchanted Swords from since I need 1 for Zenith.

Golden Crates, not Golden Chests. They also drop from Titanium Crates once you hit hardmode and start fishing those up. The drop rate for both Crates is 2%, or a 1 in 50 chance; it's also the only item in it's slot in both drop tables, so the game isn't also rolling for something that could override it.

1.4 release date confirmed, May 16!
