Build a sizable arena down there, bring a strong ranged weapon, then take full advantage of the shield dash. Seriously skillful use of that thing can make it so you hardly get hit at all.
If you're feeling real gutsy, get yourself a good yoyo with a counterweight. They deal a ton of damage.
Get some Jester arrows for your bow, they wreck the minions. For the arena, you can very easily line it up with rows of platforms in the big cavern.
And if you want to hear, I can edit this comment to include a rather cheesy method of defeating Expert Skeletron that you do for the first fight.
Make a really big minecart loop, and just zip around Skeletron shooting at him. If you're using Slimy you'll need to put some platforms just so that you're not always forced to constantly resummon.
If the minecart loop is big enough you won't ever die against Skeletron, even if you take so long he enters "Dungeon Guardian" mode

Alright. Does the Brain have any new moves in Expert that I should prepare for?
Been a while, but best I can recall is it just freaks out and goes double time at low health. This is why you want high damage output if you can manage because otherwise your dodging needs to be absolutely on point.
Oh. In that case, should I break one heart, spawn the arms dealer, and get the Minishark before fighting him?
The Brain creates illusions of himself, which become progressively more solid as the Brain has fewer health (when it's near death, they're almost identical to the Brain).
Both the Brain and the Creepers inflict several status effects as well. At that point, there's nothing you can do about them other than not getting hit.
Not sure about how the Minishark performs in Expert. Los damage, high speed weapons overall perform much worse due to the enemies' increased defense.

Only get the Minishark if you have a Shark Tooth Necklace (if your world spawned Silver, add Silver Bullets for good measure). Otherwise, it just won't perform.
Ah, okay. I have silver, but not the shark tooth, so I'm probably better off just using a bow.
EDIT: Started the arena, got swarmed by spiders, died. Eventually got the Minishark so I could use it on the Wall later on, but the spiders were still a pain, so I just gave myself a stack of Chlorophyte bullets to kill them more easily. Also ended up checking out the Last Prism on the server I got the Chlorophyte from (though not keeping it for my main world), so thatís a thing I guess.

So I beat the brain, plus Queen Bee for her Bee Gun and hive pack. Neither was all that hard, really.
I'll take the Skeletron strategy, by the way. I can't even last a minute against him at this point.
Not sure what Numbuh was planning to recommend, but a good general approach to most bosses that breaks their AI is Graviton Potions. Just fight them in the air while constantly swapping directions. It can be a bit hard to stomach visually, but makes you almost impossible to hit for most enemies.

And my above comment has been edited
Looks like we're getting at least one new boss, some new items, a beastiary, and Master mode, among other things. All very cool, but honestly, I'm still most excited for the block swap feature.
The last Major update for Terraria, huh?
It'll be a good time, going through this realm once more, experiencing what it has to offer again.
It's a real good game.
At this point, I have my doubts if Reg Edit will even stay true to his word about this update being the last. He said that about several times, even going as far back as the original implementation of the Hard mode... only for additional seasonal updates to continue coming in, followed by the Plantera and temple Golem boss, then followed by the Moonlord, and now this?
...Well, why am I even complaining? The man's put out all of this content for FREE: other devs would've sectioned off this content and packaged it as paid DLC.
Didn't they specifically call this the "penultimate" expansion, meaning there's one more?
Switch release on the 27th, aka this Thursday, aka less than two days from now.
