[up] I was ranting about BRPS in general, not you, Colonial. My apologies if I mistakenly insulted you.

I'm so glad we have a much wider variety of viewpoints than is expressed on that community. That's the last thing I'll say on the issue evil grin

I make no judgment on whenever it was funny or not. I just think the practice of publicly making fun of other R Pers is in bad taste.

Accepted.

...Currently wondering if the evil grin symbol used by SOCR means mischief or indignation.

Indeed—my teacher in last semester's course on gender in society would be appalled at their behaviour. "Misandry doesn't exist"? Honestly, do they have any idea how absurd and naive that assertion is? Imbeciles...

Wait, someone in that community said that?!

—shakes head.—

How could anyone say that?

All the mods in that community who jumped down Screw's throat were spouting that. All of them.

@Colonial: The mod of the community said that. Several times.

Pretend there's something clever written here.

I have no idea why such a pack of circle-jerking leaky cuntbags has raised my hackles so. I mean, it's not my problem they're a bunch of sycophantic fuckwits.

Shit.... I better stop before I burst a blood vessel... All of my hate. All of my HATE!

So you see why we're all a little incensed, and why my professor would have been appalled at this behaviour.

Note: Said emoticon is usually used in situations of amusement, for myself at least.

@Tech:

I would do so, if not for two things:

1. EA stuff is SOCR's domain, and I'm not about to ruin his creative vision.

2. I'd inevitably turn it into a great big diatribe of Super Cool Awesome Aircraft Of Awesomeness (in the process ending up undoing SOCR's statement that aircraft are almost non-viable, which doesn't quite make sense to me as designers could surely just create non-missile based stand off weapons).

And I have flying Klenks on my mind.

SOCR is female? Huh.

I've really gotta stop assuming other people are dudes.

EDIT:

What are Klenks again?

I assume they're not traditional aircraft; I was thinking more souped-up versions of classical aviation philosophy, I guess. tongue

Thank you.

...Why am I imagining extensively modified versions of the Mi-24 Hind being used as transports for the air-mobile Klenks (and perhaps as quasi-CAS)? Helps that even the basic helicopter is a mechanical badass of the highest calibre. I mean, just look at it!

If I made a statement about aircraft being non-viable, it was because I'm borrowing notes from my own scifi worldbuilding deal. Here aircraft are viable because of magically-hardened armor and the ability to carry enchantments that would allow them to phase through the portal-based point-defense systems. My personal world is completely mundane; any and all aircraft get shredded by hyper-accurate PD systems.

A-10s still rule the day.

And yes, I'm female.

Oh, oops.

In any case, any fictional world I create (time period willing) would probably end up with air power reigning supreme. No surprise there, huh? tongue

I can see both as being completely viable progressions in Arms Races from where we stand now. It's just in my world computing and tracking systems won the day, in yours it'd probably be ECM and missile weaponry that came out on top.

Here, magic allowed point-defense systems to go ammo-free and use 100% effective portals to teleport inbound missiles to remote, harmless locations. As soon as the system premiered, guided weaponry became obsolete overnight.
