Chemistry-based Reality Warping

I have recently defined a Physical God's powers as a form of reality warping. In keeping with my Urban Fantasy's Science Fiction-y feel, I have decided that they will center around being able to manipulate the atoms of objects to do stuff.

I already have a rather substantial list of things he'll be able to do, including a good number of things he can do in the kitchen by virtue of being a Supreme Chef with lots of culinary training.

My question is- does anybody else have any ideas?

And if you have read or been in a Character Development Thread or two, the character is Vinicio Acquati.

Melting Snow. Walking on Water. Rust locks/hinges. Create smells.

Ah, there we go.

Melt snow by increasing particle movement speed, walk on water by freezing it enough for it to be walked on, rust metal by speeding up a chemical reaction, and create (or hide) odors by constructing or breaking apart chemical compounds.

I hadn't even thought about odors. By that extension, he could hide from police dogs by busting apart his pheromones. Or... he could hide the pizza he's making from scratch for his grandson by blocking the aromas at the kitchen door, for a surprise dinner.

That's awesome.

I might also suggest a chemistry textbook or list of experiments for ideas to mine, not to mention knowing the processes.

I think I have a good idea about the processes; we had to learn about them for the first semester of Honors... Physics.

I think it's just applying them to daily life that I'm seeking help with.

A lot of those books do give real life examples of usages. And I would be sure to double-check things, many an author has gotten things wrong, to immense ridicule and eternal embarrassment...at least until they can fix it in the next printing.

Cook pretty much anything perfectly via precise manipulation of the Maillard Reaction.

Make thermite to burn holes through metal or concrete.

Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite.

If we're not playing by conservation of energy, why not just melt a hole through the concrete?

Ooh, Conservation of Energy. I forgot about that... that's another thing to consider... Then again, when you combine magic and aliens, God knows what you'll get.
