Finally. I find Perry's style to be a bit distasteful, racially speaking.

Unfortunately, he's been greenlit for another sitcom on TBS.

[up][up][up] Me too. His characters all feel stereotypical.

I...don't really see the point of celebrating when its just being replaced by another Tyler Perry sitcom, which will obviously be exactly like House of Payne anyway. In other words, nothing really changed at all.

But the new one with only be 10 episodes instead of 65 episodes. It will probably fade like that show Glory Daze did back in the fall.

This is one of the few times I've seen a unanimous agreement on the internet.

I don't see how it was all that bad.

I remember seeing an episode where Curtis—who I LOATHE—had to help a bank robber, one scene stands out in my mind to this day, where the camera work was abysmal. So? This is in addition to HORRIBLE writing and acting, both bad on their own, but they combine to make some of the worst delivery to unfunny jokes I've ever seen.

One thing I hate is the character of Curtis, who is supposed to be a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, but only recall seeing the heart of gold on one occasion. Yeah, that's sort of the point of the character, but there's just something about Curtis that makes him just plain unlikable.

Another thing! A problem I've frequently noticed whenever I catch an episode is that the B plots and A plots accidentally switched with each other. The interesting stuff you care about is pushed into the background by pointless crap you don't.

But, to be fair, It's not the worst show. I HAVE seen episodes that are not horrible, shockingly. There IS some talent in these people, it just doesn't always show for some reason. Shame. There was one episode I could actually call 'good.'

I would say that it's sad people have lost their jobs, but they've likely moved on to the new show, so it's all good, I guess.

Needs a new signature.

You...underestimate Tyler Perry fans. And TBS.

Tyler Perry's starting to decline though. His new film only opened to $25 million (he usually gets at least $30 million on his comedies).

I used to like the show at the beginning and I considered the acting good (I found the acting of the mentally ill mother outstanding) but I just got bored, they repeat the same plots again and again with slight changes, and there is a high Double Standard with women.

I liked HOP in the beginning, but it just became one long Very Special Episode along the way and it just got preachy and boring. I will say that not all of the eps were bad; the 2 new ones that aired on 6/15 were pretty good, but I'm guessing that they will be the last ones?

This is Tyler Perry. It won't affect him or his fortune.

AHR: That's... a vaguely unsettling facial expression, madam. [lol]

But on topic, thank Odin. I've been drunk off my ass before, finding even watching paint dry funny, and yet the show was a borefest.

the last batch of new episodes are airing on TBS now. I guess they'll be wrapping up the Calvin and his baby mama drama storyline.

I'm seeing a movie with nearly all-black cast in German TV. Takes place in some sort of wedding or something, in a big fancy house on the beach, there's, like, tons of soap-opera-ish tensions firing in every direction, people are very handsome (both men and women)... does anyone here know if it's an actual Tyler Perry movie?

Because I'm kind of liking it. The dialogue is in German so I can't quite follow, but damn the visuals are nice and the people are pretty. They seem to have a bit of a complex about being Black, though.

[up] I'm not 100% sure, but it sounds like it could be Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? or the sequel Why Did I Get Married, Too?

[up]It kinda looks like it... my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I thought the people were even prettier than that. Also, the photography was better. This is from the trailer, though: maybe it looks better in hi-res?
