EightPointEight = "8.8" - do we really need this custom title?

So, someone has given Eight Point Eight the custom title 8.8.

...Do we REALLY need this? It looks really awkward in trope lists and in the main body as well. it doesn't even look like a trope name.

I'm leaning toward no.

I'm really not sure how to properly custom title this one. "8.8" is terribly awkward but it's the only title that makes sense other than just having none at all.

The article has 120 wicks. Is this a pre-existing term within the gaming community and therefore not a candidate for renaming?

This is a lot like grade inflation in academia. People get all wound up about B's, when actually it is a perfectly acceptable grade.

I don't see what's wrong with it. The name refers to a numerical score, expressed in decimal format. That's typically written "8.8", not "Eight Point Eight", or "Eight.Eight".

I don't think the question was about whether or not we need the trope so much as whether or not we need to use the numerical value rather than the written word "eight". I personally prefer the written word as it's easier to work into trope lists.

I'm afraid I definitely have to agree with those supporting the 'EightPointEight' name, vs. the '8.8'. The former's easier to read, and fits better in indices, at least by my own ridiculous standards.

Well I would say clarafy the custom title with like "8.8 review" or something. 8.8 and Eight Point Eight are not very clear on the trope itself.

I'm not sure I understand why it would be hard to work into trope lists. Just as we do with numerical titles in work lists, we can simply list 8.8 prior to the "A" titled tropes.

My inner Grammar Nazi also points out that it's bad style to begin a sentence with a numeral instead of spelling it out.

I'd prefer to keep it as Eight Point Eight for alphabetizing reasons.

And somehow Eight Point Eight fits the tone I imagine it said in better than 8.8 does.

I prefer it in number myself. It's based on a score, you don't write a score out, you use numbers.

8.8 looks kinda like an emoticon to me. One that depicts sad Puppy-Dog Eyes.
