I missed Sonzai's post earlier because I was skimming, but I want to say that even though we never really spoken or interacted much, to see a regular go is always a sad sight, and I dearly hope that things turn out well for you, and know that the door here is always open, or at the very least unlocked. (And if the door does happen to be locked, there's a key hidden under the welcome mat.)

All the best, Sonzai. I hope, for your sake, that things improve and, for our sake, we see you and your characters again at some stage.

Most important, though, is that things improve for you.

Gah, I'm super sorry everyone. I've been pretty busy this weekend and just haven't had the time to sit and post. But I will post in every thread today for sure.

As for answers on who I have in Resort, I've been meaning to mention my character Ai is sitting at the bar I guess by herself since the person she was talking to hasn't posted in a long time. So she is free for interaction. Nikki is skiing with Hoshi and Gwion and Xia is in the hot springs chatting with multiple people.

Also I'm totally up for a new thread but don't really have ideas. ^^; If we do another city one I have some characters already in mind to do fun things with.

And Sonzai, sorry to hear what you are going through. Sounds tough. Hope things turn out for the better!

Going to be heading home for real very soon-ish and so I don't have time to post again right now. I don't know where I'm going to wind up tonight, so between that and the aforementioned lack of phone data to work with I may not be able to get any more posts in today.

My activity in general is probably going to be a little sporadic until I finally get home (which, as previously mentioned, will probably be somewhere around a week).

@Sonzai - Sorry for the late reply, but truly, best wishes and an honest hope to see you seen in the writing adventures of the CD Ts.

I'm glad we're talking new thread again. I don't really have much to input besides that I think we should try something new this time. We've done a lot of in-between worlds and sprawling city scape threads. It's time for something different! A change that'll bring in more CDT regulars (the more the merrier) and revitalize some excitement. That is all I can say for now.

Killer Clowns, is something happening at your end? You haven't posted for days, and while I don't want to be rude, it quite frankly is getting a bit irritating, as it completely holds me up since both of my characters are interacting with your characters.

I'd like to echo Killer Clowns and Darkblood that it is perhaps time to revisit the general concept of Digsite and its relatives, because the more freeform threads tend to stall out heavily through choice paralysis.

[up][up]Like I said earlier, I actually think the more freeform threads have been the most successful, as long as they've offered enough options.

And honestly, I don't remember Dig Site being that much of a success at all. I know I've said this isn't a useful metric to go by in the past, but it wound up being only 35 pages - that's relatively short-lived.

[up]I feel like the alleyway group is sort of stalling out in general due to people not being clear what the other characters are doing, but I'm not sure how to address that. I'd really like to get it moving again, though, so I can advance Gev's plot.

I feel like I'm the only one who knows what's going on in the alleyway. I may or may not write up what I understand is happening and edit this post with it if it will help.

Otherwise, I've added a couple of characters, which I've put on the page for Capital. They'll be in the Museum park for a bit but will move on to the City Center.

Started working on posts but my brain's too foggy tonight, going to get an early night (as in "before 10pm" rather than my usual "after 12am") and see if I make any more sense out of things tomorrow.

I think I just might switch gears and join Capital instead. Did some brainstorming on what character I want to use, and the one I'm leaning towards would probably have a better time in Capital.

So I don't mean to sound impatient, but since Capital and Mountain Resort seem to be going at a snail's pace, I'd personally like to get chugging along on new CDT discussion. Here's two things that I've mentally concocted for your reading pleasure. I tried to keep it fresh and new to the best of my abilities.

  • Character Action Adventure: Something like Dig Site and something like Heist (but only really in passing), our characters would start in a small town market in an unspecified desert and are sent on an expedition to search for rare artifacts of varying nature. With mysterious areas to explore along the way (which we can established beforehand or during the thread), the setting would be like an Indiana Jones style pulp story (with mandatory running from the boulder references if we so desire), where danger lurks at every turn and fortune and glory await our characters!

  • Character Weird West: Quite a bit like Character Action Adventure, our characters again start in a hub town in an unspecified desert, but now the adventure is a weird and wild western setting to explore. Rather than going on an expedition, our characters are here for whatever reason the writer behind them desires. We all got to admit that we've all brought something weird to the table for our involvement in the CD Ts, this is just an opportunity for our characters to explore the weirder things in a different way.

That's all for now, if anyone had any input on these ideas or completely rejects them, don't hold back, cause I'd love to see this discussion start chugging along.

Anyways. Is there anything anyone wants Rani and Foster to do? I've got lots of developing to do with them, but no real "missions" at the moment.

[up][up]"something weird" and "the weirder things" are pretty vague terms, and what's weird for one universe might be totally normal for another.

Character Action Adventure sounds like it might end up on a railroad, which doesn't bother me too much but I can't speak for everyone.

Sorry if I sound really negative. lol

[up][up][up] It's funny that you mention a weird west type of rp because I was just thinking how fun it could be to do a Western type rp with cowboys and stuff. lol I don't exactly have a character for it though I'm tweaking one of my older characters to fit that kind of scene.

Also I'm tempted to add another character in Capital for those who don't have anyone to interact with. I'm torn on two different ones and I'm also not sure how well I can handle it as due to taking summer classes I've been quite busy and I'm trying to manage my time better.

The first one I had in mind is my android character C.h.i.s.a. (Computer Hacking Intelligent System Android) who was created to look like a human girl with the ability to wirelessly hack into things as well as gather and store data for the company who built her. She was the one I was going to play if my friend joined as we had a plot idea together but I don't mind putting her in alone. Her personality is similar to that of Chi from Chobits. =D

The other one I had in mind is my character Zakki whose only special feature is she can shapeshift into a tiger. But only a tiger. Thing is because of that power she was called a monster by her family and was abused and eventually locked out of her own home and left on the streets to fend for herself. My idea of why she is in Capital is because she escaped there after finding a portal from her homeworld.

I'm torn though on whether she will enter nearly starved which will cause her to attack people or already attacked people in her homeworld and ran away to Capital to escape being caught. Either way it should be interesting interacting with others cause she's going to be untrusting towards people and scared out of her wits.

[up][up]Railroading is an awful idea in general, but I'm particularly inclined to oppose it now since I've recently been theorizing that the most successful CDTs have been those that offer a lot of different options.

I like the broader idea of something kind of Western or pulpy, though, mostly because it's different from what we've had lately.

I have a few pulpy characters that need developing, so I like the idea too.

In that respect, how about a jungle village, a ruin, or tropical adventure town? If full-on western, then maybe a Boom Town/Ghost Town?

It's not that hard, if anything, it's a bit crowded, which I can understand.

This is what I imagine: Gev is nearest to the entrance of the alley. By her side is Kommissar, near the left wall. I think Roderick is at Gev's other side. In front of them is Nero's body, and Lydia, who is reacting badly to the gas, but is recovering. I don't remember where Echo was placed, but I think farther into the alleyway. Yomegami now has one of her characters nearby in a mech.

The red gas is moving its way out, which Roderick backed out of.

Kommissar and Echo are contemplating getting out of there. Sirens are nearing, and they are probably arriving pretty soon.

On the subject of the more on-rails CDT, the entire group doesn't need to be together; there could be groups of characters going on errands unrelated to the errands of other parties.

It just said they'd fetch a variety of artifacts, but it didn't say they'd always be going after the same relic.

However, a more Western-style thread sounds more appealing to me, as do jungle ruins.

EDIT: Or, to reach a middle ground, provide plenty of in-town locations for the characters' own purposes.

Just so you know electronic, I'm a male (although I haven't been so sure myself lately).

The "Weird West" idea gives me the idea of a ghost town as a setting. I imagine it'd be similar to University in some ways (but hopefully with less Quicksand Box). It wouldn't necessarily be Western-themed, although that's certainly an option.

However, I'm very opposed to any setting that would require changing characters around to fit it.

Yeah, that's definitely not something we should try again.
