In any case, we now have at least three months worth of CDT planned ahead of us so that's yay. I'd say we go with Q's idea first though and decide after if TARDIS/Spaceship or Island will be our next one.

I think the difference between the TARDIS and a spaceship with a G La DOS like computer (as the original post mentions) is that the TARDIS told you where it was and the spaceship's computer wouldn't inform anyone, therefore adding mystery or whatever

I think that it's two fandom specific as well, I'm kind of iffy about the idea

What about that testing thing Chubert mentioned way, way, way back?
I favor more melancholy, wild settings, actually, but I cna't really come up with anything more specific than that. Oh well.
Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey BitchfestThat's not the appeal for me at all. I like the TARDIS for its quirkiness and the way that it follows its own set of rules. It's not much like any spaceship in any other series I've seen; it's more a thing of fantasy and fairytale.
If we're going to just fly around in a cool ship, I'd rather go with draconian's idea; it has character and a mystery of its own. Much more interesting than a watered-down knock-off of the TARDIS.

Help?.. please...Due to Internet problems, I decided to take a break from Cantina tonight to focus on typing up my backlog of long-hand. Don't rip the doors off their handles while I'm gone.
Hmm... if Q5's doing his Temple thing first, and the Cantina's running now and may, presumably, continue during this next "main" thread, then I think an outdoor/wilderness location would be better for the sake of variety. I vote Island.

Not everyone. I am still voting Cove, and will probably assemble a rousing defense of it... later, when my brain isn't running on caffeine and Iron Maiden.
I mean between TARDIS and Spaceship. After that we can vote between one of those and Island/Cove. Maybe some time before we finish Q's temple idea.
Help?.. please...The Island is a Spaceship.
What would the island/ cove look like, exactly?
Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey BitchfestI was referencing an old fan theory regarding LOST. I'd rather we didn't make the Island/Cove's nature anything so explicit; that'll ruin the mystery.
(Alternatively, Mr. Kobayashi is a Time Lord and the Island is his TARDIS.
)
A tropical sort of island would probably be a turn off for me.
It's probably because I'm having a conversation with a few pervy friends, but That Came Out Wrong, heh.
Have the terrain and climate change every day?

Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey BitchfestAn England-esque Island doesn't seem exciting enough to me.
Maybe something reminiscent of the Outer Hebrides?
Daily terrain and climate change seems too... unsubtle? Not the right kind of mysterious.

Two days later
"Oh, yeah, we had bamboo tress the whole time. Totally."
"Uhm, no, I remember palm trees."
"When?"
"I dunno."

Warm hugs and morally questionable advice given here. Prosey BitchfestIT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial

While I won't be participating either way, I think that Character TARDIS isn't too fandom-specific if it's simply used as a setting and/or Plot Device. If more specific elements of Doctor Who start coming in, I'd (in theory) object, on its own I wouldn't say it's overly fandom-based.
Edit: A Serial Numbers Filed Off sort of thing could also work - the crux of the idea seems to be "characters travel between times/worlds on a Cool Vehicle of some kind", not necessarily anything to do with Who itself.
