Well, it could be worse. At least you have an income. Hang in there.

Outside Ghost Town (Cynthia, Diantha; Arilay, Shale)'
I think you're missing a chunk of story...

If not for this anchor I'd be dancing between the stars. At least I can try to write better vampire stories than Twilight.I'm not sure if I've ever changed a name once I've settled on one. Not a first name anyway. Shorthands/nicknames maybe, like Ozzy -> Oswald or Davey -> David. Usually to fit a character's self image once I've figured them out a bit better, although in the latter's case it was also because characters ended up referring to him as Davey even when he introduced himself as David.
So now that Wolf and Killer Clowns have bowed out, I reviewed the groups, here's a partial list...
- For the Purple Fez Tavern, I can't remember if Dianne Sandberg and Ava Sharpe are still present.
- Zarokh is alone, where is he now and what's he doing?
- I'm still hoping nrjxll can find the time to post for Gar May, I've got characters waiting on that character.
- Arnora Bluesword has been contacted by a long-range telepath, the ball is in apocalemur's court now.
- It's apocalemur's turn underground with Krakka'a
- It's probably Corvidae's turn with Jann and Varg, I doubt it's my turn with Rosalind.
- It's Mrship's turn in the rainforest with Henry A. Safon II.
- Will De Regio and Millership have to figure out how to work around Wolf's sudden absence leaving Jean, Parthenia and Farrah with each other.
- Will De Regio is left in the lurch with no other authors' characters to interact with Nora and Moobly.
- Pyxo is left in the lurch with no other authors' characters to interact with Chitara and Naiolo.

If not for this anchor I'd be dancing between the stars. At least I can try to write better vampire stories than Twilight.I'm thinking of having Alexa attempting to stall Krakka'a by having her pretend that she has a Superpowered Evil Side when my turn comes up but I suspect Anubis might see right through that. Granted, none of the present characters in the Coffin Room know about Anubis, but I wanted to ask people their thoughts on it. I'm afraid it may seem a little far-fetched, so I can come up with something else if you want.

Using the word "evil" in a Superpowered Evil Side bluff around Jen Jara is not the best of ideas. Jen Jara knows she already has defense covered with the tricks she has up her sleeve, and she teleported where Alexa could witness, so Jen Jara thinks that Alexa now knows from that display of power that Jen Jara's odds against Krakka'a are in her favor, so there's a chance that Jen Jara won't realize that Alexa is bluffing.
Jen Jara is a lot less likely to jump to the wrong conclusion if Alexa transforms into her monster form and lets that be a silent threat instead of using the word "evil" in her bluff.

My final is tomorrow evening. After that I'll be either greatly relieved or in a ditch somewhere, but able to write regardless.
They'll turn your world aroundI'm alive! I actually do have plenty of time to write, it's just that I'm stuck on what to. In retrospect, I shouldn't have used Gar May, who is not a major character in my work - but I'd prefer not to drop her out now, so I'll try and post in the next few days.
(Incidentally, as far as changing character names goes, I pretty much never do it - not because I put much thought into names than because it's just really jarring. The CDTs actually sorta named two of my characters as a result).

I'm not sure if Osiris (it is Osiris, not Anubis) would be able to call Alexa's bluff, but even if he was, it's doubtful he would. Remember that Osiris hates Krakka'a and wants him to fail, to the point that the only reason Krakka'a is even still alive is because the shade of Osiris attached to him doesn't possess anything even close to Osiris's true power.
@ Miss_Desperado: Won't be able to post until Friday, concert tomorrow, but I'll be free on Friday.
Expect one of the new characters who flirts with Soryn to hang a lampshade on Comic-Book Time at some point (is it Comic-Book Time or Webcomic Time for the Character Adventure?).
Plus, one of his possible love interests has teleporting powers, could temporarily take him to the Hellmouth (she looks human, but is a Half-Human Hybrid, half-devil, half-Human, yet she's a Nice Girl) and teleport him back. The human form is her true form, the devil form she uses is A Form You Are Comfortable With for in demonic settings (a sort of inverse of that trope!). How would you feel about her being in the harem?
She does have some interesting powers - what would Soryn think of her ability to create clouds and storm out of nowhere?
@Ryuhza: Good luck with your finals — I still remember my own nervous breakdowns about my own finals.
Weather manipulation would only provoke Dull Surprise in Soryn.
I'm ambivalent about taking Soryn to the Hellmouth, it seems like a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment to me. That being said, here's a preview of the consequences: Soryn wouldn't like the Hellmouth if he ends up there, but I could squeeze it into a comedic reaction. He'd portal himself out haphazardly, giving himself motion sickness when he dives through. Then as the portal un-forms behind him, he'd do the spellcasting equivalent of a Berserk Board Barricade on the spot where the portal was. The downside is that for the rest of the thread he'd be suspiciously eyeballing whoever took him there and keeping his distance from her.
I've lost track of whose turn it is in the forest. I've also been drafting for Soryn and Sarquoql, in anticipation of Mersey's post after the concert. Here's a preview of what I've got, obviously it's missing what I would need to write as reactions to whatever Jenny and the two Michelles do:
"I'm not going to steal her away from you," Mael said defensively.
"Good," Sarquoql interjected.
"But you may have already lost, my friend."
"And what is that supposed to mean?" Sarquoql demanded out loud, putting on a show for the archaeologist. He added a private telepathic clarification to Mael, "I already knew her inclinations when she hired me, and as for myself, my own species does not hold much appeal to me. So you'd better not have been referring to mind control just now."
Meanwhile, the archaeologist telekinetically summoned a single-serving plastic bag of star-nuts (so named for their silvery hue), opening it up to munch on them while watching the argument between her bodyguard and guest.
Mael turned his attention back to the archaeologist. "Thank you. You're very kind. A little tour of this place would be helpful as well."
Because Sarquoql had already installed the "search the town for past enemy activity" task back in the hotel room, he didn't need unobstructed eye contact to telepathically piggyback an activating nudge on Mael's words.
"All right." Still snacking, the archaeologist looked around, then started to lead the way to the section of road between the hotel and the restaraunt
.
Sarquoql was about to try steering the archaeologist towards the billboard where Soryn was, but there was a sense of impending useful information that made him hesitate. He looked back and forth between Soryn and the archaeologist, then made a hasty decision. There was a way to get Soryn's attention. Sarquoql telepathically sent a hallucination of a Wolf Whistle at Soryn, then started to follow the archaeologist.
Town Square, Bulletin Board (Soryn; Michelle, Michelle, Jenny)
Distracted, Soryn forgot about leaving. "Did somebody just wolf whistle at me?" Soryn looked around in confusion trying to spot the perpetrator. Usually he could accurately tell from which direction a whistle came from, but this one was different, distorted and unclear which direction it had come from.
Soryn scoped out a trio of likely candidates, but that group he was hesitant to approach. The old man moved way too easily and gracefully for his apparent age, the Mayatan lady was striding with determination towards the general direction of an alley, and the dragon man in the spacesuit was clearly muscle for hire. Soryn didn't want to take any unnecessary chances that that trio might have spontaneously planned to rob him.
Then Soryn turned his head and spotted two more ladies. The wind wasn't blowing in the right direction for him to ascertain by scent exactly what kind of undead the one dressed as a maid was, but she was clearly capable of holding a conversation, so he called "Excuse me," and waved at them.
How's this for furthering the harem plotline and the villains' plotline? There's still time to make changes.

If not for this anchor I'd be dancing between the stars. At least I can try to write better vampire stories than Twilight.Speaking of nervous breakdowns and finals, I panicked, my brain crapped out on me, and barring the grading curve of the century I probably failed it. So I think I'm just going to take it easy tonight and leave the writing to tomorrow.
They'll turn your world around@Ryuhza Ay-yi-yi, my condolences.
@Masterofchaos: Do you think it's 7:00 in the thread by now?

If not for this anchor I'd be dancing between the stars. At least I can try to write better vampire stories than Twilight.@Miss_Desperado: The post looks promising. Although I won't be able to post today too much, it'll be here tomorrow.
By the way, the original Michelle is set to do some Time Travel In-Universe, but before then, she's going to hang a lampshade on Webcomic Time and then suddenly disappear off to the Forest.
The first girl to arrive is Zelena Zmije, who looks human but is actually a Snake Person. In a case of His Name Really Is "Barkeep", her name is Czech for green adder snake, but homonymous of the name Selena. She can shift back to her snake form under certain circumstances, which looks very like an adder with human arms and legs.
Snake Speak isn't common to her.

So, you're starting to introduce characters, but you still haven't posted how Jenny is reacting to everything happening around her. If too much time in-thread passes without a reaction from Jenny, Soryn is going to get worried about why Jenny is just standing still and staying silent.
Edit: What
said: How many times and how many different ways do I have to say I want you to post for Jenny before your other characters come in? I've
been
telling
you
since May 23 that you're long overdue for a post about Jenny, and it's gumming up the flow of time in the town square.

@Miss_Desperado: Sorry, forgot about Jenny. I'll have to figure out somehow what to do next. Got too involved in planning the story arc (the harem one) I mentioned a few pages earlier.
@Masterofchaos: I am not deliberately ignoring things, I think I got too consumed by planning a storyline.

Just letting y'all know I'm still here. Work has been pretty intense the last few days.
Still a great "screw depression" song even after seven years.
