"But your book is so much softer! Besides, it would get boring, slamming into the same desk again and again! We need variety! We need creativity! We need—"
A clasp of thunder sent Fuu under her desk in fright.
"Jeez, that was loud!"
"Oh dear, it's starting. I hope the other students have their umbrellas on them." Miss Nagato went to the window and closed it.

Nagato looked back and forth between the frogs and her swimtrunk-clad student. As usual, she began blushing as she grasped for some words, any words, that would be appropriate to the situation.

The only reason the car was not currently splattered with frog guts is that it wasn't actually touching the ground. She walked inside, holding an umbrella and wearing a long striped scarf as the car rotated to point straight up and took off into the clouds.
"Hello, classmates and teacher! Sorry I'm late - we had a little cave-in."
Pretend there's something clever written here."The tunnel, of course!" said Maddy. Maxine bumped into her before she coudl elaborate further. One end of her scarf reared up and hissed at Maxine, revealing it to have a row of pointy teeth and a pair of small, beady eyes.
"Easy, easy, I'm sure she didn't mean it," cooed Maddy at her scarf. She then went to sit down at her desk as her scarf suspiciously watched the other students.

Pretend there's something clever written here.Nagato ran her fingers through her hair as she tried to regain her composure. She focused on the girl with the hissing scarf, trying as hard as possible to not think about why her scarf was hissing.
"Right, you're one of the students who said they wouldn't arrive on the first day. DeThray, was it? We didn't cover much last class, but you can ask Maxine—" here, she gestured to the bandaged boy "—about anything you missed. Now, Ms. Yamamoto and Ms. Yakomoto, if you could move from the window so we can begin our—"
Another loud clasp rocked the school, loosing the latch on the window. In a moment, frogs and water began to pour into the room.

She looked at the deluge of frogs thoughtfully, head tilted to the side.
"I think the lunch lady might be French."
Pretend there's something clever written here.Fuu emerged from the waist-high frogpool.
"If we're having a war, I'm on their side. They're cute!" She hugged Deion as the bird sat on James Fenimore Cooper II.
An arm popped out from behind the teacher's desk, waving for help.

"No, Fuu. You're on time."
