Eh, whatever you figure then. As far as documentaries go, I'd recommend looking up some stuff by discovery channel, they're known to do fears at times.

The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.

...That description was really enough. o.o"

...I'm schocked..

Even though I do recall someone mentioning this to me before. And thinking about it I do have a feeling that things are basically destroyed from the inside by holes.. Which is pretty much the truth in this case?

Don't worry, no WAY I'm gonna click that.. Even if a self-hating but VERY curious part of me is saying "Do it. Do it. Do iiiiiit.." xD Same goes for all other links so far, though. I'll resist the temptation. I value my ability to sleep..

And after doing some thinking I suppose that it would be more accurate to say that I have a fear/extremely strong disgust of certain patterns.. It doesn't really have to be holes.. Those are just usually worst.. ^^" Damn.

On another note that does sound like an interesting documentary.. Not sure if I'd want to see it, depending on the content, though.. But disgust does sound better than fear. Less crazy.. yet not entirely strong enough to describe the sensation, I think.

[up][up]

I'll go trawling through the BBC website, as it was one of their documentaries.

[up]

The squirrel is alive, it just has healed up holes in it.
I have to agree a bit on the destroyed by the inside, as with my aforementioned looking at botfly photos the worst was by far the infestation on the human breast, as you could see (where some had been removed with tweezers) the flesh inside.

See I give in to that urge, but I obviously don't react as severely as you do, so I'll not recommend you do it. (Unless I'm using reverse psychology eh? [lol])

Edit:
Spoiler'd for sensitive people.

Ugh. Ugh. o_______________________O

Sorry, not a very intelligent response, but my brain just experienced a general meltdown. And I didn't even look.

Will write something more competent ..soon.

Edit: Thank you very much^^" Damn, I must appear to you as a very weak easily disgusted person..o.o But seriously, where holes aren't involved I'm really not that much of a sissy.. (clusters of)Holes are just.. Disgusting/terrible/terrifying on a level far above anything else I can possibly begin to imagine..

Seriously, there's nothing wierd about being grossed out by botflies. Botflies are disgusting, whether you have this phobia or not.

I actually noticed before even reading this thread that I was freaked out by clusters of holes... I found stuff like swiss cheese or clusters of bullet holes a bit freaky, the latter of which I previously attributed to awareness of what caused them, but even then that left me wondering why in some contexts, like playing Goldeneye (N64 game, not the movie) I felt more freaked out by said bullet hole clusters than by the gunfire itself.

Hearing of things like "the lotus breast" makes it worse. o.o

I also can't help but notice the sick ironic humor in naming the fear of clusters of holes "trypophobia".

They're no scarier looking than any other crustacean. Are you also scared of prawns and hermit crabs?

What, if anything, is sick and ironic about it?

I am afraid of them. But I'm terrified of bugs in general. Their so mechanical and dirty and squishy and hideous. Ugh.

Those crabs don't look scary to me, they more look like real-life versions of the Pokemon Kabuto.

[up][up][up] It's pronounced "trip-oh-phobia".

Trip-oh-phobia. Okay, I see the point. I don't remember taking any hallucinogenes as a child, though. Unless it was meant as in falling, because yes, I have hit my head plenty of times. ^^"

I always supposed it was pronounced tribe-oh-phobia, though. But generally I've thought of it as "trypofobi", my own unofficial translation to Danish..

And now I keep seeing it as try-pop-hobia. Which is just plain weird.

that's not scarily enough as it is?surprised you know the 'hugger' part is a euphemism, you want the VG cats link?

I'll got to see if I can find a female Horseshoe crab carrying it's spawn, it's worse than that toad. God I hate the little bastards.

Crustaceans don't really brother me, I use to love Balmain bugs when I lived there.

But horse shoe crabs... I don't know, they just freak me out. They are not even a true crustacean you know? There are this some of gross sea spider thing *yuck*.

They have even got blue blood, like what the hell? that's just not right...

I don't know why, but I keep confusing horseshoe crabs with tadpole shrimps, which is kind of silly - they have a vaguely similar body shape, sure, but they are much smaller and belong to an entirely different family.

Though I can see how tadpole shrimps might look a little icky too...

Yeah. It's not actually blood, it's hemolymph. They don't have any capillaries, it just bathes their organs directly.

It's blue because they use copper instead of iron for oxgen transport. I think.

Certain insects and arachnids also use haemocyanin instead of hemoglobin. And Loni's right, it's because of copper in the bloodstream instead of iron.
