Having figured out the controlls, Rosalia wandered wandered around town a bit. Rosalie then heard the event chime, and wondered what was going on. She then noticed the weather change, and she looked over at the ghostly monsters aproaching the city. "What the-" Rosalie shouted, running away from the monsters. "Hey, Newbie in trouble here!"
"Let's see what we got!... Oh, over here!" he called to the twin blade. "Don't worry, we'll help you out. The more the merrier!"

It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve. With the party disbanded, Amadeus would be the only one who knew just what was inside the chest. Nevertheless when he opened it, a prompt came up and shone out for a moment.
What he chose to do with it was at his disgression, however a loud screeching sound overhead warned of another creature on the approach...
And said creature had it's eyes on Cain. It dived in from the skylines, the harpie half tackling, half clawing the blademaster as it struck her before landing a few feet away. It screeched again, shining slightly as it eyed the damage it had done to Cain. (CAIN -25 HP)
Rosalina would find herself safe for the moment, no creatures seemed nearby to her of these other players...

Pokedy Poke-pokeHmm. Ice. Should be easy enough. Philosophy started another basic fire spell, this time a close-ranged stream of fire (like a Hollywood-style flamethrower), getting in close and poking at the Jack-in-the-Box's head.
Was Jack Mackerel. | i rite gudColnar approached the new-looking, somewhat nondescript Twin Blade and attempted to start conversation with a noncommittal greeting.
As in "Hi there".

"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "Cain charged at the harpy, his sword wildly cutting into it as the creature sliced into him with it's wing. But before he could get a second slash off, something bizzare happened. A fireball from a distance away seemed to blaze in, and nearly struck Cain himself. However, instead the flames began circling around his blade feverently, and on his next swing his sword had the added effect of shooting a flaming sword-beam at the bird-thing where it stood. It yelped aloud as Jager's spear thrusted deep into it's side, and was promptly finished off as Amadeus struck it for the first time with Triple Wired. (CAIN -14 HP, HARPY - 62 HP, MILES - 5 SP, AMADEUS - 15 SP)
Philosophy would begin streaming the flames at the jack-in-the-box, but after a while it ducked down into the box and stayed hidden inside, using the box as a shield of sorts. The flamethrower spell was effective, but it was also burning up SP madly, so it might be wise to change tactics... ( PHILOSOPHY - 45 SP, JACK-IN-THE-BOX - 48 HP)
Meanwhile, Rosalia and Colnar might notice a small dragon climbing out of the Mac Anu channel, blue as the waters and hovering slightly off the ground as it quickly made it's way toward the rest of the group.

Pokedy Poke-pokeHmm. Time to change tactics. Hoping the other monsters didn't swarm him, Philosophy leaped up on the Jack-in-the-Box, attempting to pry it open. The claws didn't help. Maybe if he insulted it?
"Hey, hey, yo momma's so fat..."
Was Jack Mackerel. | i rite gudThe Jack-in-the-box suddenly rolled backwards, seemingly on it's top for a moment, before springing forward and tackling Philosopher, and landing on top of him. It then sprung out from it's box and began bashing him repeatedly over the head with it's staff, doing minimum damage as it did so. (PHILOSOPHER HP -8)
Pokedy Poke-poke"Ooh... dragon... not good..." said Miles. "Hey, guys, might I make just a small little suggestion... Let's get out of here, and fast!" he said, raising a wall of water and freezing it into ice. Then, he grabbed the twinblade's hand and started runningtowards the nearest shop.

I could pick someone more recent but that wouldn't be as fun.
"So, you too huh?" he asked. "I'm Colnar."

"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "The Dragon roared out as the ice wall was formed, sending cracks spidering through it and causing bits to flake apart. Meanwhile the many shopps were still closed off, having done so at the beginning of the event. However, the chaos gate looked seemingly peaceful now, as players were crowded around it and ganged up on whatever monsters spawned in. A bizarre tree thing dropped in between the players and the chaos gate, however before they could do a thing it got hit by about seven different spells at once, and was immediately replaced with a chest.
The ice wall shattered as the dragon roared again, and made it's way toward the group of players now. They could fight or flee, the choice was theirs... (MILES SP - 40)

Pokedy Poke-pokeJager had relaxed for a bit when the Harpy was finished off, and was about to greet the newcomers.
That plan changed when the dragon appeared and they chose to run.
"Hey wait! We might be able to work together to..." He yelled at the other players as they fled, stopping when he realized that it was probably too late.
He chose to retreat as well, though he did so slowly, just as the dragon broke through the ice wall, and stayed close to his ally.
"Cain...we need to get more players to help us beat this thing, it's not going away anytime soon. Any ideas on recruiting people?"

"Er... is it all right if I take this?" Colnar asked sheepishly.
"Guess not." he added, seeing the axeman already reaching for it.
