I'm so psyched.

But when I first saw the title. I thought "Sburban Knights? Is Doug and the fellow reviewers of TGWTG going to re-enact Homestuck as new players for the server?"

Then I realised that I became unhealthy obsessed with Homestuck.

I find there are not many non-Nintendo games I actually enjoy.

Pikmin is one of my absolute favorites.

I can't think of anything else to say right now.

Fuck yeah!

Unfortunatly, the 3D is more of a hinderance that an enhancment on that game. I think it might be because of the fast paced action and colours. I didn't have a problem with the 3D in the OOT 3DS Demo.

Though I wouldn't be using the 3D much anyway. Epilepsy is a bitch.

Oh! I totally forgot about the demos in the eShop!

I'm sorry to hear that you can't use the 3D. Could you leave it on a low setting?

It's not that I can't use the 3D Wolf. It's more likely that I won't.

As I said, my brain had no probles with the use of 3D in OOT 3DS. But Uprising felt like it was giving me migrains so I turned the 3D off and enjoyed the game much more.

Ah. I see.

I'll need to check out the demos before I can say anything useful on the subject, so I shall change it.

What's your favourite Zelda game?

-Busts through a wall at the mention of Zelda-

I loved all the 3D Zelda's equally.

[up] That would be the first one I played, though I was interested ever since I saw my cousin play OoT back when I was nine.

EDIT: Did some time extrapolation.

I always feel really dirty every time someone says Majora's Mask is their favourite. I just don't like it that much.

Don't get me wrong, it's still Zelda, so it's a great game, but there are entries that are so much better than it.

There was a whole post somewhere that sums up my feeling for MM, but I'll Laconic it.

In OOT, Ganondorf just felt like another boss. In MM, Majora was your nemisis.

[up][up]Really? I'd think it's the other way around. Majora didn't actually show up until the end anyway.

And for the record, I like all four of the 3D Zelda games and can't be bothered to pick a favorite right now.

Sorry, I felt the opposite.

Skull Kid with the Mask was interesting. The boss battle against the Mask/Incarnation/Wrath was unbelievably boring.

Ganondorf, on the other hand, is your guy. He's the one you will struggle to bring down again, and again, and again.

Majora was always pulling the strings. When Skull Kid put on the mask he became Brainwashed and Crazy. Hence, when you defeat Skull Kid after you assmble the 4 Giants, Majora ditches Skull Kid calling him "A puppet that can't be used is just a worthless tool."

Yeah, but it's the history with Skull Kid that makes it interesting.

It's the same reason Wind Waker and Twilight Princess both put Ganon before Ganondorf. A human adversary is much more interesting than an inhuman one.

I do admit that Skull Kid!Majora was much more interesting than Majora Wrath. But still, Majora was an exellent villian.

There is also the misrey and pain that he causes all the inhabitants of Termina to feel. There are the Farm Sisters, Anju and Kafei, The musicbox girl and her father, the old shop lady and I could go on and on. You get emotionally involved with the stories of the people and you want to help them. The worst thing about it is that no matter what you attempt to do, you can't help everyone.

Want to help the Farm Sisters? An old lady is mugged and a guy's wedding is ruined. Help Anju and Kafei? A young girl get's lobotmized. Save the lives of the Zora children? All of the above are fucked.

Majora makes them suffer for his own amusement, all before there own demise. Ganondorf wanted world domination, Majora just wanted to watch the world burn. Hence, why I see him as a more effective villian.

Man do I love friendly debating.

[up] That's how I see it. Ganondorf just wanted to take over the world, Majora was an Omnicidal Maniac.

I can't feel for the inhabitants of Termina because of the recycled models.

Also, completing the Romani Ranch sidequest and the Anju/Kafei sidequest in the same cycle is completely doable. It's the only way I play my last cycle.

To me, Omnicidal Maniacs are less scary than people who "just" want to rule the world. With an Omnicidal Maniac, if they succeed, the world is destroyed, everyone dies, and then it's over. There's no one left to care. When the goal is world domination, though, people are being subjugated and oppressed at every turn. Both sets of people suffer for the rest of their lives, but for the first group, those lives aren't going to be very long.

I love friendly debating too. smile

Technically. Termina is a parallel world to OOT Hyrule, but that's just an obvious excuse to get away with making a game with the same models & mechanics I will admit to that tongue.

However. I got the vibes that Majora didn't end the suffering after your death and the destruction of your land. As the game over screen showed Link getting killed but right afterwards the words "You have been met with a terrible fate? Haven't you?" comes up. I got the implications that not only is Majora toying with you in life, he's refusuing you a peaceful afterlife.

Maybe that was my Youngun' brain at work, but it's still a deadly thought. Majora wants you not only to suffer in life, but in death too.

I also stopped caring for "Bad Guy from the Game wanting to, you guessed it, take over the world" metaphorical eons ago.

Clearly neither of us is going to give ground on Majora vs. Ganondorf, so we may as well move on. tongue

Second favourite to Majoras Mask.

So my rating for the 3D console Zelda's are:

Majoras Mask > Wind Waker > Ocarina Of Time >>>>>>>>>> Twilight Princess.

I wasn't a big fan of Twilight Princess.

Really? Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, and it's aged the best of the console titles (TP doesn't count, since that's still current), but I definitely prefer Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time.

The Triforce fetch quest is annoying. Plain and simple. I actually liked sailing, but the Triforce hunt was murder. The only thing that keeps me from resenting the game for including such a time sink is the fact that it has the best endgame of the entire series.

Then again, I was playing a borrowed copy, and didn't have time to do much outside of the main story.

Yes Meddler, I've seen Spaceballs. I prefer Blazing Saddles.
