...We were hoping by mid-November. We CANNOT have this arc - any arc, really - be as long as PMDR. We just can't. So we need to figure out how to wrap things up.
(Also, I'll try to start posting again today. New job and B 2 W 2 have been distracting me lately. >_< )

Contact Me!Mid-November? But I haven't even gotten started on what I need to do... At this rate, I might have to quit for real since I can't keep up with you guys and your action-y plots...
Also, I know this has nothing to do with any of this, but I'm really stressed here: Does anyone here know how to solve equations on a Casio fx-82 PLUS?
Kanjoh Pacing
DS: I wouldn't worry about pacing issues, I don't think many people are close to done with their stuff either. I know I'm not.
And I don't really know about the calculator, since I don't know what the problem in question is. Do you have some way to link an image of it?
Rotom-Z
Stat spread seems okay, yes.
However...
First, I would agree with Eskay that item use would have to replace the moves of both mons taking part in the Rotom-Z. There are plenty of ways for a Rotom or Porygon-Z to attack both mons in a Double Battle using only a single move, so it wouldn't be trading damage to one of the opponent's mons for the item use. In addition to this, the RP mechanics we use for battles usually preclude oneshotting. In light of this, it would be all to easy to simply Hyper/Max Potion Rotom-Z each turn, keeping its HP at full or close while dealing damage to the opponent (since even with resistance, those hits add up).
Next, there is the issue of a certain stalling move known as Protect (and really all non-damaging moves with useful effects). Since Rotom-Z is only a single mon, it would more or less gain damage immunity every other turn, since it can use Protect, followed by the other half attacking with whatever other attack it wants to use. Similar logic can be applied to Thunder Wave (knock out a mon low on health, paralyze the other to keep it from getting in the way), Taunt (negate an opponent's setup and hit them for damage), and so on.
One possible solution that I could see would be to require that both of Rotom-Z's actions each turn be the same action. So you could Hyper Potion Rotom-Z, but then you can't attack during the turn. You can have one side use Protect, but the other side needs to use it too. In exchange for this, I would remove the stipulation that attacking twice would require Rotom-Z to split its attack stat between the two moves (so yes, a double Discharge at 145 attack is a thing that is possible >:3).
Of course...that hardly makes up for both the opponent's mons focusing fire on Rotom-Z, does it? I mean, if it doesn't take out every opponent really quickly it's gonna go down pretty fast. How is that useful in battle?
I would say in this case that it probably isn't, at least not for a normally functional Rotom-Z. While the idea of Rotom-Z is a pretty cool one, I think it would be difficult beyond belief to make it both viable in battle and not broken. If it's not as useful as two mons fighting separately then it's not good enough, if it is as useful as two mons fighting separately it produces some serious balance issues.
However, in the case of Linux and Myra, it's extremely useful. From what I've gathered, Linux working alone is more or less useless due to the glitchiness causing blindness and likely some other nasty symptoms. In tandem with Myra, that's no longer the case. As such, while Rotom-Z is probably not a useful construction normally (again, explaining why similar things are not in widespread use), for Myra and Linux specifically (or Linux, anyway), it's probably quite a boon.
...
Besides, now I can ship them.
Dunsparce didn't stop being a thing or anything. You know, the whole focusing fire on Rotom-Z thing wouldn't really be an issue, considering its Speed stat. If it focuses both attacks on one mon, it's not at all unlikely that it could OHKO the opponent (Well, 2HKO, but whatever) before either can attack. So then it would only have to deal with one mon that turn.
As for other aspects... the "both actions must be identical" thing does have a flaw. That is the horror known as stat buffs . A "single" Nasty Plot? Near-max Sp. Atk in one turn. Without the halved HP effect moves like Belly Drum. That poses a definite problem.
...And I should have seen that shipping comment from a mile away :P
95 is a decent speed stat, but there are plenty of mons with higher, especially since Myrinux are not of a super-high level, IIRC. It seems pretty possible that both opponent's mons would attack first.
That flaw is a thing, yes. It exists even if the actions don't have to be identical, though.
The only solution I see to that, however, is simply removal of the extra attack, and I'm sure you don't want that (alternatively, just have stat buffs not stack when double-used by Rotom-Z, I suppose).
That you should have.
Dunsparce didn't stop being a thing or anything.Sorry for sounding demanding in my last post, I just have big plans for Rt AU and Conquest and want to get to those sooner rather than later...

It's okay.
Why not join us in Johto? Lots of Gym Battles to be had! Much needed structure!
We're in Violet City, where we've almost completed the first Gym (there's one or two people left, I think). Also, we're doing the Bug-Catching Contest sometime this week.

Well, I should go now. I wasn't able to finish my homework this time, due to not being able to figure out the calculator and being unable to finish up something on the last problem, but at least it's better to say I tried and failed rather than not trying at all.
See you guys tomorrow, if I feel like it. Thursdays always seem slow, so I might not bother showing up after I get back from school. Maybe we can plan RP stuff this weekend, or something.
Rotom-Z
I suppose the non-stacking thing will work (although we'll just have to ignore the fact that two heads are better than one when coming up with brilliant evil plans :P).
And yes, both Myra and Linux are relatively low level.
Pacing arcs
Compromise is something people have asked me to start doing, so I'll try now. Perhaps those who are still in PMD could start time-shenaniganing the rest of it to have happened in the past, and have those characters return to the OU in the present? I don't personally have any plans including them, but other people might want some chances to interact with them before PEF Exp and Rt AU start. I'm trying to take considerations from all sides for this.

Contact Me!

It's definitely not then, since Tagg and Tracer are still finishing up PMD.
