@Wolf: That would give it a special attack of around 150 (even in abstracted terms, that's insanely high)....as well as very good defensive stats and Speed that allows it to move before almost everything. I think that's a little much...

Then a quarter of Porygon-Z's stats.

This would be much easier if we knew the stats of a fridge. >:|

Which gives it about the same stat spread as the other Rotom formes, albeit with each stat a little bit boosted. o3o

Also, we do have stats for a fridge. tongue

Hello. New poster here. I was hoping to join this RP. Will this be OK? I'm thinking of a young trainer with a Pupitar that he got from his uncle. He believes it's a bug pokemon that refuses to leave its chrystalis (doesn't help that his cheapskate father only got him a Mark I Pokedex.). He doesn't care it in a pokeball, but in his backpack, like an infant carrier, facing backwards. Does this seem feasible?

New Person

Sounds good to me, but there's a more elaborate process that someone else will have to explain.

Rotom-Z

Yes, it gets two attacks, but for half of whatever-stat-is-being-used per attack. Yes, it gets insanely high speed, but the opponent gets two attacks per one attack from Rotom-Z. Yes, it has great defense, but again, see note on Speed. It's always outnumbered, so it needs power to make up for it.

Eskay: Fair enough, but keep in mind that attacking is not all you can do on your turn. That set-up also lets you essentially have a free heal each turn, and still be able to attack. And Hyper Potions aren't exactly hard to come by.

So it needs power, but not too much power.

Well then, perhaps all moves get halved effects (Recover only heals 1/4, etc) unless buth halves use the same move, and any items would take up both turns?

"Magic A" Is "Magic A". Two attacks means two turns. My recommendation is to keep the stats on the high end of reasonable for what it is, and let the main strength be the free turn it gives you in battle.

New question: What's it's type? Based on other Rotom forms, I'd guess Electric/Normal, but I want to check.

Eskay64 Since: Nov, 2010
#8141: Oct 17th 2012 at 9:08:23 AM

Understood. And Electric/Normal is correct.

As for other stats, higher defensive stats would be required in order to actually give it a chance to use its two turns, wouldn't they?

BadWolf21 Since: May, 2010

All of its stats are going to be slightly higher than normal. Rotom gets higher stats just by possessing everyday objects. This is a fully-evolved Pokemon. That said, it is still a Rotom form, so the base is Rotom's stats.

What I would do (and have been suggesting) is taking a fraction of Porygon's stats (1/4, 1/3, 1/2) and adding them to Rotom's. I'd also add the caveat that it can't be in the top 10 Pokemon in a given stat, and its total can't be higher than 600 (which I arbitrarily chose because most Legendaries are at or above it).

For reference.

  • HP: <150
  • Attack: <147
  • Defence: <145
  • Special Attack: <145
  • Special Defence: <138
  • Speed: <130

@Justicar

I'm probably not the most qualified to explain this, but I'll give it a try:

We have a signup form here to try and work out things before you jump in.

Also, please read Every's Essay on joining the RP

And I'm going to steal Umbra's line and strongly urge you to visit the creative chat here, though we can give you the information you want here in discussion if you can't/don't want to visit the chat

And for the more experienced people, tell me if I explained that fine.

I understood the fractions thing; all I've been trying to get established is how much each fraction is. I guess I'll figure that out in the next ~1 hr.

@Justicar: If the Pupitar ever evolves, my character Straw will have some...interesting interactions with him.

Also, you did fine, Crow.

BadWolf21 Since: May, 2010

Eskay: I'd go with 1/3, I think. 1/4 seems to put it too close to regular Rotom forms to be of any special use, and 1/2 puts it over the limits.

Eskay64 Since: Nov, 2010
#8147: Oct 17th 2012 at 10:52:47 AM

I used a range between 1/4 and 2/5 depending on the stat. Here's what I got.

HP: 85
Attack: 85
Defense: 100
Sp. Atk: 145
Sp. Def: 90
Speed: 95
Anything need changing, or is this good?

You hit 600 exactly. :P

If you're happy with them, they seem fine.

That was what the 1/4 was for :P

And I'd say it's good now. Now to make a sprite for it :P

About RtAU and PEFE exploration:

If I'm remembering correctly, there may have been an estimate that these arcs would start sometime like 2-4 weeks from now.

How much more do we need to plan for them and are there any problems with the possibly mis-remembered estimated start date?
