For those of you who can't access the second forum, here
is his post in Pastebin form.
Anyway, I'd like to thank Silent for being one of the few who actually have an opinion on Avenger and is trying to help with it. I agree with the "setting a precedent" bit about fake moves and abilities in general in particular. I brought it to discussion to make sure everyone agreed on it, and that's exactly what needs to happen all the time.
At Daisy
I can give you a detailed summary of what's going on everywhere via PM so you can see what you're intrested in and try to hop back in. However, I need to get to a real computer first (Typing something that long on a phone is slow and hellish on my thumbs.)
Contact Me!Sorry for the double post, but I have REALLY bad news.
My computer is almost completely fried. They're going to try and salvage the hard drive and the files on it, but the computer itself is pretty much beyond repair. So, I will be VERY hard-pressed to RP for I don't know how long.
I do have some acess to a desktop, both here and at my real home I'm moving back to, but the former is crappy and has arbitrary time limits, while the latter is less crappy but has even WORSE time limits (Imagine getting kicked off your computer every other hour. Yeah.) thanks to my dad being an asshole that doesn't understand how important you guys are to me.
This is where I will say R Cing is VITAL. And as many of you as possible HAVE to pitch in. Again, this does NOT mean "be a lazy douchebag and let Tracer do it." Tracer is stretched for time as is. You could easily help the both of us out and actually extend a token effort into keeping my characters going. Because if you don't, I honestly feel like I should quit. Since very few of you seem to really care. Even though I care tons about you guys. And that's just not right.
Contact Me!In the chat lately, weve been discussing a better sign up process. We will most likely be making a new signup thread. Old players wont have to sign-up again, so dont worry about that.
Things going into the new sign-up are:
1. Character name(required)
2. Pokemon: Species, Nickname(not required), and a bit of a backstory(pokemon arent just dumb animals, so say when you caught them). (Required)
3. Appearence (we dont want to imagine a cool, suave biker image, to find out you look like a massive nerd). (Required)
4. Pokemorph. (Not Required, but you'll probably need to come up with one eventually)
5. Backstory. (Not Required, but prefered. We want an idea what your characters like!)
6. Age. (Again, not required, but prefered)
In fact, here's a development page for a signup procedure that's more detailed: http://waapt.wikkii.net/wiki/Development:Signup_Procedure
Hmm...I'm not sure I agree with what is and is not required on that sheet. I'd prefer:
- Name (required)
- Age (required, approximate is good enough)
- Gender (required)
- Appearance (required)
- Home Region (required)
- Team (required: species, gender, nickname (if applicable), starter; optional: other background information)
- Basic character personality and history (required)
It should be obvious why we need name, age, gender, and appearance. These are major factors for interacting with people. People will react differently to a six foot six, 30 year old strongman than they will to a four foot nine, eleven year old girl.
Home Region is just a personal interest. Also, it's one of the things that gets kept track of on the UND, so having it early is helpful.
This being a Pokemon RP, of course we have to know what Pokemon new players intend to have ahead of time. However, giving a background story to each of them in the sign-up sheet is overkill. That's what the RP itself is for. But since a person's starter will often say a lot about them, that should be required information.
Finally, the character background and personality are to give an idea about the direction the player is planning to go with their character. Again, it should be obvious why this is important.
Any quirks in characterization should also be mentioned during the sign-up process, but there's no reason to put them in the sign-up sheet. For example, if a new player wants one of their 'mons to be a Delta, they would have to bring it up during the (for lack of a better term) "interview process".

Yeah, pretty much. It would probably not be good for their sanity.
