Actually, if you look at the first map
◊ in Silent's post, part of a Hoenn island crosses over into the Kanjoh part of the map seamlessly, and the Kanjoh continent crosses over on both sides (although it's more noticeable behind the Attack Deoxys on Hoenn's side). Meaning, they're that close.
No, it means the map was a fold-out in a magazine, and that's just where the folds are. The water changes colour drastically between the regions.
Also, the games have some pretty obvious Japan-inspired culture. The first four main regions are at least in the Asia analogue, if not directly Japan.
Also, also, that's a really cool avatar, Daisy.

Why is the conquet arc being set in the past? One of the Warlords ( the grass one I think ) mentions reading about a far away land where people fight with pokemon inside metal balls. Wouldn't that mean it's set in the present, but that Ransei is just really far from the other reigons, even further then Unova?
Just to note, laptop is taking a while to re-obtain, (it really should have been fixed by now...) so again, RC WHENEVER POSSIBLE.
Also, this does not mean "sit back and let Tracer do it." I don't bite. If you screw up my characters even with the guide I wrote, (which I put a LOT of effort into, BTW) I will merely give you advice on how to do the character correctly so you can fix it. No big deal. I'd appreciate the effort anyway.
(Note this does not apply to newer players and/or those that are stupid enough to try and maim/kill/psychologicaly ruin my chars.)

Contact Me!On the subject of the Conquest arc being set in the distant past:
It's perfectly possible for it to be set in the past while still staying consistent with the games. How? Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Apricorns
. They were used to capture mons before Pokeballs even existed. It's never specified how long ago they started using them, so who's to say they didn't use them, say, 600 years in the past?
At Sixth
Thanks.
At Wolf
That's fine if you need to focus on your own characters, but I appreciate that you are willing to help if you can. (Also glad you like the avvie. >:3 )
At Eskay
Excellent point.
Contact Me!Alright, I have a major and not-so-major concern to bring up, starting with the not-so-major one:
On PMD-R
Long story short; I've had enough of PMD.
As of now, this arc has been going on since April. That's three months of the same arc. Longer than even Hoenn or the Gold Conference arcs!
That's an awful long time to be spent doing roughly the same thing, and it's beginning to get to me. I'm quickly running out of things to do in this arc. I really only have potential stuff to do in Bluescale and Nix's Festival in the Golden Forest, but after that, I'll be spent for ideas.
Therein lies the problem: I want to move my characters back to the OU after these events, but that will leave me with the problem of having nobody else to interact with, putting me in the dreaded "fan-fic mode."
I don't want to have to go into fan-fic mode.
Granted, Tracer has offered to go through of the towns we haven't visited in Johto-B with me (and I really appreciate that), I can't think of anything that I want to do in those places, which would leave me in a follower state not really providing things for anyone else to do, and that's not really fair on anyone, is it?
So right now, I'm faced with two options:
Option One: Leave PMD and return to the OU after Nix's Festival, where I'll be able to do the things I want to do, but most likely with no-one to do them with.
Or...
Option Two: Stay in PMD and find something else to do.
I honestly would prefer option one, but it's not going to be much fun R Ping by myself, even if they are the things I want to do. Option two will give me peoplemons to RP with, but I won't have anything I'll really want to do.
Quite the dilemma, isn't it? Some advice on this issue would really be appreciated.
Which brings me onto the more important matter...
On Rping with other players
I believe Silent put this into words that got my point across easily, so I'm going to go into an extended metaphor here.
Imagine that WAAPT is a Supermarket, and that the posts are fruit. Now, imagine that Tracer/Silent/Tangent's posts are Apples, and almost everyone else's are Oranges.
Now, I like apples, but I'm not really keen on oranges. Up until recently, though, WAAPT has been able to supply me with all of the apples I need to keep me happy.
But now there's a problem: it's becoming increasingly apparent that WAAPT is not going to be able to stock apples for much longer. In this case, Tangent is winding down activity wise, Tracer is leaving next May, and Silent is moving somewhere where they might not be internet, so we won't be able to interact with him at all.
Pretty soon, they'll be no apples, and I'll be left with only oranges. Granted, there's no reason why I couldn't live on oranges, but they wouldn't keep me happy, and they wouldn't be able to replace the apples.
I'm really not sure just what it is that Tracer/Silent/Tangent's posts have that seems to be absent elsewhere. If I could put it into words, I would, but this magical quality remains elusive, like a roaming legendary Pokémon that just won't stay in any Pokéballs you throw at it.
Granted, there's nothing to say that any future players won't be able to supply me with apples. But I can't hold much faith in that option because in the time that Tracer/Silent/Tangent have been here, barely anyone has attempted to write posts like they do. So this isn't a viable route.
So this once again leaves us with two options:
Option 1: I accept the fact that this Supermarket is never going to stock apples again, and either learn to live on Oranges, and leave to seek Apples elsewhere. Obviously, I'd rather not go with this one.
Option 2: In lieu of anyone to supply apples, we learn how to grow our own. Which means perhaps we can work out just what it is Tracer/Silent/Tangent has in their posts and work out how to incorporate it elsewhere. I would much prefer this option, since it means that I can stay here without having to brave the rough world of Pokémon R Ps to find a suitable place for me.
(I may have worded that wrong. If you're reading this, Tangent, then your input on that would be appreciated if you have the time. Thanks!)
It would be nice if we could try and work this out, as my future enjoyment, and participation, in WAAPT hinges on this. And even though it does have it's problems, WAAPT is the most suitable place for me to tell the Pokémon story I want to tell, and I don't want to lose that.

Three months? Ohgods. This is Reach levels of Arc Fatigue.
-Shudders-
There will be at least two arcs between now and Conquest.
As for Luke, I'll gladly join you on the "leave PMD and go to the OU" option. I've done it multiple times this arc already, and I'm more than willing to make a permanent switch. I've been here for those three months and only those three months. It feels like "We Are All Pokemon Rescue Teams". And the only major stuff that has happened for me so far has been during one of my visits back to the OU. Because it's actually fun there.

While I heavily disagree with Eskay on PMD not being fun at all, I'd prefer to get back to the OU by the end of August. Yes, there are still things I (or whoever's R Cing my guys),need to wrap up in PMD, but I actually have some big plans for Kanjoh (And Rt AU if it happens concurrently) and I would actually like to see those happen instead of being put off indefinitely because we can't end PMD.

I made a wifi hotspot at my grandma's house, so I'm still here.
