OK, since I'm getting busier this summer and will likely have a job in the fall, I have created something that will help people keep my characters going on the occasions I'm gone.

Behold:

Umbra's Guide to R Cing his characters

Be warned, this is LONG, even though the blurbs themselves are short.

Umbra and Team

Umbra: Male human, except with some Precursor tweaks that give him immortality and ghost Obscura powers. Usually a pretty nice guy, (if still slightly naive about modern society and zealous about his patron deity Giratina) but hates being deceived or manipulated and can hold grudges for a long while.

Lumos: Male Chandelure. Umbra's stater and the Team Dad of Umbra's Pokemon. Usually a voice of reason and source of advice/consoling words to the others, though he'll occasionally snark and spout one-liners (Flash Fire, bitches!) when the moment's right/when there's no one else to do it.

Styx: Female Sableye, formerly Umbra's human sister who got reincarnated via Spirit Game shenanigans. Snarky and likes pulling pranks, but also has a kind, caring side that comes out more around her brother, daughter (Elysia), and boyfreind (Xavier).

Mata Nui: Golurk, masculine personality. VERY protective of Umbra and... well, anyone else he considers his friend/he's been assigned to protect. Gets mopey whenever he feels like he's failed at his job or something else important.

Jadis: Shiny Frosslass. Very timid and shy, but gets PISSED when other Pokemon are abused, and has a close bond with Abel and Gilgamesh partially for the reason they also came from neglectful backgrounds, and partially because they form a makeshift family. has a talent for ice sculpture.

Abel: Male Raichu. Very competitive and always trying to prove himself due to being abandoned by his previous trainer for not being as "cute" as his Pikachu self. Has a close bond with Jadis, and considers Gilgamesh an adoptive son.

Alduin: Male Hydreigon. As described by Tracer, he never grew up. He's friendly, hyperactive, and very rarely in a bad mood. Loves candy and other sweet foods and will go to great lengths to get them. Is in a relationship with Tiamat and carries her around in a sponge-filled backpack. In the AU, and by extension PMD-B's past, he's the leader of the Dragons wanting to wipe out humanity. Has a rather vain Giratina plushie named Bahamut.

Tiamat: Female Kingdra. Alduin's girlfriend and voice of reason. Tends to snark a lot, especially at Alduin's antics, (though they're not immune to having cute moments together ;) ). She and Alduin have a signature move combo called Meteor Rage, which combines Dragon Dance, Outrage, and Draco Meteor.

Gilgamesh: Male Tyranitar. Due to evolving rather fast, he's childlike in personality, (not quite to the extent of Alduin. but close) though he can be ferocious when properly pissed. Other than that, though, he's a pretty nice mon. Considers Abel and Jadis his parents.

Xu: Male Archeops. A poet and he knows it, though he prefers written prose as opposed to spoken like Thog's. He's always in search of some source of "inspiration." Is in a relationship with Lenore, Fool's Hydreigon.

Reynard: Male Zoroark. Loves to troll people and Pokemon with his illusions, but this backfires on him more often than not, making him something of a Butt-Monkey. Has a rivalry with Zexion, especially where his son Cecil is involved.

DOOM: FEMALE WAILORD. RATHER SIMPLE, HAS NO INDOOR VOICE (REPRESENTED BY ALL CAPS) AND HAS NO SENSE OF PERSONAL SPACE.

Gravemind: Male Spiritomb. Is somewhat stuck-up and occasionally mean, but he's still got standards and gets nicer once he gets over his rivalry with Styx (Not sure when that will happen, though. >_>). Refers to himself with plural pronouns. ex. "We" instead of "I."

Bucky: Male Persian. A cat of the "highly affectionate" mold, always wanting attention. Frequently demands pets from people he knows, and even more so from new people. Also rather naive and can be tricked into things on occasion. Makes a lot of :3 faces.

Nazz: Female Grovyle, will eventually advance to Sceptile. Likes exploring and treasure hunting, but has an intense rivalry with Skipper.

Skipper: Male Marshtomp, will eventually advance to Swampert. Very enthusiastic and hyperactive, but has an intense rivalry with Nazz.

Cinder: Male Typhlosion. Formerly one of Luke's NP Cs, so ask him for advice as well. Something of a more cynical counterpart to Lake, but has a soft side (likes sweets and having his tummy tickled :P) and places similar value on friends.

Saix: Nidoking. Rather quiet, and also rather cold. However, I'm taking a BIG liberty with his character and having him become a Defrosting Ice King thanks to Rhyme. Has something of a grudge against Axel, but that gets better. Is also terrified of Woundwort, due to being a former Efrafa Nido.

Luxord: Male Dunsparce. Like most Dunsparce, loves flinchaxing. He also loves games of chance, which extends to toying with people and mons. He also gets bored fairly easily, and tends to skip straight to the action of things.

Roxas: Male Lucario. Somewhat similar to Cinder, in that he's grumpy and rather jaded, but still cares greatly about things like friends and has recently developed a strong sense of right and wrong.

Xion: Porygon-Z, feminine personality. Very soft-spoken and shy, but like Roxas cares a lot about her friends and has recently developed a strong sense of right and wrong.

Grif: Male Scrafty. Former criminal from PMD-B, and still prone to mischief and occasional sticky fingers. It's not uncommon for him to swear or snark, especially when pressed.

Amaterasu/Ammy: Female Volcarona. An immigrant from PMD-B, she develops a relationship with Umbra, resulting in the two eventually getting together. Has a Pokemon-to-human armband and uses it a LOT. This eventually results in her becoming a Trainer, and thus my third PC. Has a very bubbly, almost childlike personality, but is smarter than she seems. Is good friends with Diane, and may develop similar friendships with Sunburst and Crewe.

Hatchet: Female Haxorus. An immigrant from PMD-A, she believes in being a stereotypical "true" dragon... which involves hoarding treasure, nomming livestock, and kidnapping "princesses" (the last of which results in a rivalry with Ammy.) Originally belongs to Lina, but will be traded to Umbra for Susano.

Larxene: Female Luxray. Obatined from Rex, she's downright nasty, and proud of it to boot. Is often plotting stuff with Marluxia.

Tromba: Female Gyarados. Is loyal to and protective of Umbra, but is more of a "stoic badass" type of protector than Mata Nui.

Seishirou: Male Garchomp. Former member of the AU's Draconic Council, banished to the OU. Resents being forced into captivity, but becomes something of a Defrosting Ice King. Is missing an eye, which is replaced by a glass one a la his namesake.

Bow: Female Dusknoir. An old mon from Umbra's Ransei days that eventually reunites with him. Is very motherly, and can be considered a Dusknoir Icecap, right down to calling Umbra "dahling."

Lina and Team

Lina: Female human, but subject to the same "condition" as Umbra. Ranges from cheerful and prone to :3 faces when happy and RAEGING FORCE OF DESTRUCTION when mad. Is something of a Fluffy Tamer that considers ferocious mons "cute," though she's wary around Ghosts. However she's more streetsmart than Umbra, and generally also wiser. Breaks up with Umbra after learning her origins, leading him to end up with Ammy even after she wants him back.

Chrome: Metagross, masculine personality. Lina's starter, and a mon even older than she is, dating back to the Alakagross civilization. Is an avid gamer, highly intelligent, and has a disdain for Legendaries (particularly Mew and excepting Shaymin.)

Herbert: Male Steelix. Is a Big Eater extraordinaire, always hungry and searching for food, which could be pretty much anything. Not above attempting to eat those that annoy him, though he rarely succeeds in so.

Pandinus: Male Drapion. Pugnacious, and always looking for a fight, but knows his limits, and when his foe will easily be curbstomped. Has little patience, and is always looking to get to the next interesting thing.

Gino: Male Shiny Salamence. Was raised by Purrloin, and as a result has many catlike mannerisms, the most prominent being his verbal tic of adding "nyan" to the end of his sentences. Is also prone to breaking the fourth wall (moreso than Alduin, who mostly interacts with the narrator).

Axel: Male Houndoom. Very snarky/sarcastic, to the point of seeming mean at first, but cares a lot about his teammates. Also loves shouting one-liners in battle.

Yomi: Mandibuzz. The Team Mom of Lina's team. Is an avid bookworm (Which extends to comic books and manga) and is very knowledgeable as a result. Is good friends with Susano.

Terry: Male Umbreon. Basically the goddamn Batman... if Batman was a scenery-chewing, Lawful Stupid Idiot Hero. Is obsessed with fighting Criminal Scum and administering JUSTICE.

Ruto: Female Eelektross. To describe her in a word: "Overaffectionate." Is prone to giving people hugs randomly, which is sadly often interpreted as an attack. Is usually in a good mood, and not afraid to show it.

Asmodeus: Male Seviper. Is known as the "random Seviper," and for good reason. He's prone to non-sequitrs, and is also known to nom random things because he feels like it. Gets along with Goggles, and is implied to be in a relationship with Hilde.

Hilde: Female Druddigon. Where Teala is insecure (or at least was), Hilde is a downright scaredy-dragon. Very timid, easily spooked, and rather paranoid. However, this does not stop her from being a good fighter.

Rhyme: Nidoqueen but will become a female Scolipede thanks to being screwed over by a Mew. Is a born fighter, but is also learning how to trust humans, especially her Trainer, and adjust to their culture. Secretly enjoys adventures.

Eowyn: Female Lucario. A major jock (but not quite a Jerk Jock ) that greatly favors physical attacks over special ones. Loves exercising and showing off her skill. Has a close bond with Amp; may develop a rivalry with Audrey.

Xavier: Male Alakazam. Highly intelligent, but also blunt and likes to get to the point. Can allos be secretive on occasion. However, he cares a lot about his girlfriend Styx and daughter Elysia.

Rarity: Female Milotic. Is rather insecure about her appearance, believing herself to be a bottom-percentage Milotic. However, she perks up around Stratus.

Amp: Male Electabuzz, will progress to Electivire. Considers himself the "brawniest," and is not afraid to try and prove it.

Monty: Male Excadrill. Is your stereotypical drill sergeant- loud, fierce, and prone to bossing peoplemons around. Has a horde of Drilbur minions, his "troopers" he uses to do his bidding and as living bludgeons/projectiles.

Zexion: Male Zoroark. Is rather SRS BSNS most of the time, but my interpretation gives him a slight snarky streak to gel better with Reynard. Also a fan of literature and the humanities.

Lexaeus: Male Garchomp. Quiet, but smarter than he looks, and very loyal to Zexion. Is not afraid to intimidate mons that annoy him.

Xigbar: Male Octillery. A troll that prefers attacking from a distance. Says "as if!" a lot and is rather cocky and snarky. Has an eyepatch.

Sari: Female Blaziken. Former criminal that formed a team with Grif and Kurma in PMD-B. Is in a relationship with the former. Very inquisitive about humans, and loves stories and rare artifacts. She's often exasperated by Grif and Kurma's antics.

Kurma: Male Torterra. Former criminal from PMD-B. Rather stuck-up and vain, which comes back to bite him in the tail more often than not. Hates getting flipped over on his shell.

Susano: Male Samurott. A massive geek/nerd, into all sorts of comics and video games and fantasy and sci-fi and the like. Is very enthusiastic about said nerdiness as well. Is good friends with Yomi, and originally belonged to Umbra before being traded for Hatchet.

Marluxia: Male Roserade. Elitist, manipulative, and always plotting something with Larxene.

Storer: Male Smeargle. Joined Lina's team to help lessen the bad publicity the group was giving Smeargle. Is somewhat on the Crazy Awesome side of things. Knows Transform, and is not afraid to abuse it, aside from in official battles.

Balmung: Male Altaria. Obsessed with his apperance, and a shameless flirt, though it's more out of desperation for a relationship than pervertedness.

Fuuma: A former member of the Draconic Council in the AU, but banished to the OU. Is initially resentful of being subservient to a human, but warms up to his team. Considers Seishirou a brother of sorts.

Rosa: Female Ninetales. A Pokemon from Lina's Ransei days, who reunites with her later. Gets a crush on Cecil, but otherwise her personality isn't quite defined yet.

Ammy’s Team

Sickle: Female Scyther, evolves into Scizor. Ammy's starter who's obsessed with AWESOMENESS, and enjoys spamming her favorite attack of Bullet Punch. Does not take insults lightly, and loves doing crazy stunts.

Nyuki: Female Beedril. The resident snarker of Ammy's team. Is also Brilliant But Lazy, except when a fight is involved, of course.

Cambria: Female Anorith, evolves into Armaldo. Very afraid of the modern world, at first, due to being a ressurected Fossil, but gradually warms up to it. Like most fossil mons, needs to be fed a special diet and avoid sick mons because weak immune system.

Miagi: Male Ninjask. A rather eccentric "sensei," prone to giving nonsensical advice. Often buzzes around peoplemon's heads to annoy them. Husk is his Shedinja half.

Issun: Male Joltik, evolves into Galvantula. Is pretty much an Exposition Fairy, who likes giving [tips] and oogling female characters. Fancies himself a swordsmon and artist, and gains a taste for birds and small mammals upon evolving.

Pittoo: Male Yanma, evolves into Yanmega. Is rather abrasive and pugnacious, and hates being manipulated or being ordered around. Has a rivalry with Amber's Pidgey, Cupid.

Apollo: Male Venonat, progresses to Venomoth. Vain, and something of a showoff, but not quite arrogant, and knows to admit when he's been bested.

Siglud: Male Heracross. Ammy discovers him heavily injured and nurses him back to health. Is highly chivalrous, (even referring to Ammy as "Lady Amaterasu,") but should not be mistaken for an Idiot Hero unless you want to eat a Close Combat or Megahorn.

Husk: Shedinja, masculine personalty. A former mon of Onion's, so ask him for advice as well. Is an avid thief, a lone wolf who doesn't play well with others, and rather uncaring about most other mons. Also has megalomaniacal tendencies.

Atari: Female Venipede, evolves into Whirlipede and Scolipede. The daughter of Scolipede!Rhyme and an undetermined male bugmon, she's pretty nice, if a bit morbid.

Ender: Male Durant. A former mon of Lucius, Umbra's Evil Counterpart. He disliked the evil minion life and joins Ammy's team as a result. Is the other snarker on Ammy's team, and is somewhat jaded.

Ra: Male Larvesta, not sure if he'll evolve over the course of the RP or not. Ammy and Umbra's son created by Mew. Very curious and affectionate, and likes to nuzzle peoplemons.

Arika and Team

To be added.

NP Cs: Interns and Teams

To be added.

NP Cs: Umbra's Plushie Hoard

To be added.

NP Cs: Other

Bozaka: Female Dragonite. Very eccentric, often morbid, and usually in a good mood. Makes a ton of :3 faces. May have a traumatic past, but rarely shows it. Has a very twisted sense of danger, which gets her and others in trouble.

Gorga: Female Delta Mightyena (Dark/Dragon). A rather temperamental and sarcastic foil to Bozaka. Does not suffer fools gladly, but is pretty grumpy towards most people, though she's good at hiding when she cares about someone.

Pudge: Male Kecleon. Is a mutant baby Kecleon from the PMD-B universe resembling a Deathclaw from the Fallout games. Is ferocious and bitey, but can be affectionate to those he trusts.

Harr: Male Shiny Haxorus. Hatchet's father, and something of an Expy of the character of the same name from 2 of the Fire Emblem games. Is a brilliant tactician, but also fairly aloof. Lives in PMD-A along with his partner and mount, Minerva the Hydregion.

Lazy Latios: Latios. Brilliant, but Lazy incarnate. Speaks in a lot of surfer-dude lingo, but DOES know when to get serious if he needs to (which is rarely.)

Tornadus: Tornadus. Is basically a huge troll, and proud of it. More meta-aware than his brother.

Thundurus: Thundurus. Is basically a huge troll, and proud of it. More intelligent and snarky than his brother.

Crown!Raikou: Shiny Raikou. Basically Eddy from Ed, Edd, n Eddy. He's collecting a large amount of cash for unknown reasons. Prone to snark and scheming.

Crown!Entei: Shiny Entei. Basically Edd from Ed, Edd, n Eddy. Is rather timid, but something of a neat freak, and is SCARY when he does snap.

Crown!Suicune: Shiny Suicune. Basically Ed from Ed, Edd, n Eddy. A The Ditz extraordinaire, he loves comic books, birdies, and mashed potatoes.

If you need more advice on controlling any of these characters, fell free to send me a TV Tropes PM, or ask me in the chat when I'm on. Good luck.

Just a note to some of the new players- before using any legendaries (or canon characters in general), please ask beforehand. Most of said characters have established personalities, quirks, neuroses, style of writing~, and/or histories, so it pays to get a primer on them.

(That and there was an incident where we were kinda put in an uncomfortable position by the sudden introduction of a legendary egg...)

Basically, legendaries can show up fine, but we prefer they be characters, not scenery. Make sure you are up to speed on once before using them.

Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?

I dunno if anyone has already, or was going to, but I'd just like to ask that no one spoil the Reveal, since RP!Crewe's coming back and all. The only one I ever got to surprise with that was Gamer, and his reaction was not all that satisfying.

Clarifying something for Mind, if he sees this: There is no Blanket ban on glitches. Glitches are fine, but aren't really mons people keep on them. I have a mini arc that uses the Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur glitch for example.

[up] The ones for the first story arcs were cool. It's just now that we're going for a slightly more realistic feel resorting to the old trick of glitches is a little bit annoying.

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

Actually, it's the reverse. A lot of people don't like how Missingno and 'M were at the RP's beginning. This has caused some people like Luke to think that if more glitches are shown, they will repeat the same kind of things the first two did.

Just a quick question that's been bugging me: If two humans go to the PMD universe and end up mating, if and when they return, would the child become human too? Or would it still be a Pokemon?

Slaughtering random NP Cs is NOT OK unless the situation truly calls for it! Please, keep it PG-13 violence-wise and limit things to K Os.
