I'm still around. (Most of the time I'm lurking just to try keeping up to some extent.) Saturday, I was visiting a friend to buy more cards, and yesterday, I went to a botanical garden and I wasn't going to use the computer the whole day, in any case.
There is no night without dawn. The sun is always sure to rise. This would be the part where I step in, act cool, and casually ask if I can join up.
Then I remembered that I am horribly awkward when it comes to things like that.
So I'll just throw this up, hope the blatant intended irony hides my fear of being rejected, and hide behind some palm fronds. I don't know why.
Give me a mind, I will play with it. A character, I will roleplay it. Not so different.Yay, essays. Read and read. But thank you for the welcome!
As for the character, I do have one in mind. Specifically, Kenichi (or just Ken...), a 17 male from Lavaridge in Hoenn, who only started his journey half a year ago. The son of a Nurse Joy, Ken was raised to care for Mons just like his family, but was more than a little eager to step out into the world at large since the only excitement he could get in his hometown was watching Flannery take on trainers in the gym. Unfortunately, he's not that skilled with a wide range of mons, relying instead on crafted strategies he makes ahead of time. As such, his team isn't going to change much.
Said team currently consists of a Torchic, a Spinarak (close to evolving,) a Spheal, and a Happiny. I can flesh the team out, but in short Tori (his female Torchic) is just as excited about the outside world as her trainer, Rak (the male Spinarak) is a Cold Sniper Team Dad, Spe (Male Spheal) is a naive little tyke, and Nina (Female Happiny) is a newborn just learning.
Ken himself however is specifically closer to a Breeder than a Trainer, using the skills he picked up from his mother to heal most wounds when given the time. He's able to create Antidotes when working with Rak's poison, as well as perform first aid. He's not very battle-experienced, though, his mother keeping him in Lavaridge well past the time he was supposed to leave. So, fairly book-smart about Mons... Not so good with the instincts.
And on a personal level, Ken has a bit of conflicting issue as to how he is supposed to act. His parental influence tells him to always face everyone with a smile, and be co-operative at any occasion. But that same influence has taught him to get the job done at any cost... Including one fairly memorable night where his mother ended up passing out trying to save the life of a Kangaskhan. In turn, when people start messing around when they have something important to be doing... Ken's patience goes out fast. He keeps telling himself not to expect others to live up to his standards... but it's hard to remember that sometimes.
Stands at 6'3", with neck-length black hair and broad shoulders, a square jaw and hazel eyes. I hope that's enough to start... I'm used to just jumping into character and working it from there. I have a couple ideas bouncing around in my head for the future... but I think I should just get settled in first. Thank you for letting me take my shot!
Give me a mind, I will play with it. A character, I will roleplay it. Not so different.Ooh, a Spinarak. RP!Every is going to be oh-so-pleased.
Oh right! Welcoming new players! That's a thing we do. Yes.
