Stuff I disagree with about the timeline (Besides the 2006 thing since we tend to assume that we're doing things "right now", though I guess I can rationalize it by having the Pokeworld 2006 translate to our 2012):
- We all met in a Johto airport, not Kanto.
- Red couldn't have been born before DS (Or RP!Luke and Tagg for that matter) since it was already sort of implied (if not outright stated) that RP!Tagg (and DS, Luke and Wolf by extension) is older than Red. (Besides the fact that I think we're assuming that Red and Leaf's age during FRLG was 11, Wolf became Champion before him. I'd mention Silent in this, but I'm not sure of his exact age when he beat the Johto League, though it he was 13 that would make it concurrent to RP!Tagg's own Johto challenge.)
- While it'll probably get added at in a later version, the timeline's missing the background for the keystone arc, which is sort of important to Pokepan's history.
- The earliest known point of divergence for the AU would be when Gamer ended up breaking the Red Orb, if we don't want to use the even earlier example of AU!Umbra getting trapped in an orb.
I chose 1996 as the year for the events of Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. Gen 2 and 4 followed 3 years after (1999) by canon. Word of God placed Gen 5 to occur roughly 7 - 8 years after Gen 2 and 4 (2006 - 2007). Because of potential time paradoxes, I was forced to move the events of Gen 5 2 months back thus allowing the original group to meet in February.

Personally, I would move everything up, so that it's the present. I get the logic, but the remakes move up the dates anyway (evidence: the video game systems in your room). So it's basically whenever you want it to be.
Ha. The Simpsons has a timeline. Good one.
Anyway, I think that certain practical dates make sense on the timeline. There's no arguing that someone's date of birth is fluid, or the day we entered the AU, or the Gold Conference started. Or even just the year someone like DS, Luke, or Gamer started their Pokemon journey. Don't forget that timelines don't have to mention a specific day. They can use years, or give a month (which I think Pika has used a lot of), or even a range of months.
It's the more specific stuff, like...I dunno, the day AU!Hoenn was captured, or the day a particular GC match took place that we have to be a bit more vague.

It's not that I don't want to count it as the present, but eventually what we're doing now will be counted as the past. The first thing I think is necessary is to anchor and establish the timeline and build from that. Otherwise, I'd need to update every labeled event for each change to year I make.

I posted in the main thread! I'm so proud of myself
