I'd rather keep everything as cohesive as possible, since I fail at keeping my own one person plots running smoothly/getting them running in the first place.
It's easier to keep everyone together with a "save the world" plot, but there's whole index of stock plots on this site. Surely we can tweak something to fit an arc?
Sorry to derail things, but...
I wanted my character to learn Monese for easier roleplaying, and I was originally going to do it by obtaining one of the armbands from Tagg. However, It looked like Tagg was leaving, so I worked something out with Fool to learn Monese from her in-RP.
However, now Tagg's back, and I'm not sure what to do. On one hand, the armband would be easier, faster, AND would reveal my Pokeform. However, Fool was really excited about her idea... So I'm kinda stuck. Help is appreciated.

Contact Me!I don't know what yours and Fool's plans is, so I don't know how to help there. Can you two expand on it a bit?

OK, but there are two factors to consider:
1. Being a Dusknoir for a bit would be cool.
2. I should hear Fool's opinion first.

Contact Me!Personally, I don't really care what we do regarding plots, and I could probably do "Save the X" for a very long time since to me beating up bad guys never gets old. (Though I get the feeling there'd be some sort of revolt if we did Slice of Life plots for too long.)
And frankly, considering what Silent mentioned, I see either two choices:
1) We actually put our money where our mouths are for once regarding that.
2) We accept our destiny since we just can't seem to stay away from "Save the X" or legendaries and try to figure out how not to make it the same overdone road.
Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite.Pretty much what it boils down to is that Umbra's choices are to ethier learn Monese instantly via the armband, or have Fool teach Umbra (Mainly offscreen) the language due to it being her native tongue in RP. That's really all to it.
I personally see it as a more interesting wway to learn it than "INSTANT MONESE, JUST ADD ARMBAND"
As for Tracer regarding Hoenn chronology. Pretty much "And then Vyvyan was a Rayquaza" seems to be able to link together well. It's the four before that (Shenanigans stealing PR trophy, Perfect Aqua attacking Lilycove, Kim's Mindscape, Visiting rest of Hoenn's Towns.) That seem to be where they jumble to me.
I think it's due to all the Time Shenanigans we have been doing lately. We literally have no chronological order and are posts are taking all over the place, to the point in which I don't even know what the past, present or future is. :S

I'm having to learn to pay the priceIn regards to the "Save/Defeat X" discussion from earlier, I would like to quote something from the Pokémon: tabletop Adventures GM manual that I think is relevant to our situation:
Make of that what you will, peoplemons.
About the whole education v/s armband bit:
The armband gives us the ability to understand monese, not to speak it, apparently. That or I don't recall anyone talking monese while Human So perhaps Fool can teach Umbra to understand and speak monese, and then he gets the Armband.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google? What I have garnerd is that people WANT a plot that isn't "Defeat the [X]".
It's just that we don't know what that plot is yet.
Is it Slice of Life? Is it being separated from our Pokemon? Is it pulling a Once Upon A Forest in that we have to scout an entire region to get the ingrediants to cure the Littlest Cancer Patient? Is it maybe backstorys that we haven't already covered? Is it looking more into the social structure of Pokemon colonys and clans that aren't Cubone or Nido[x]? Is it helping the Star-Crossed Lovers? Is is "Trying to go our separate way only to find out that we belong together?" (There's gotta be a trope for that...)? Is it finding a new world where all the "Pokemon" are made out of Clock Punk /Steampunk bits and how we react to new cultures?
There are plenty of Ideas, we just don't know what ideas we want.

Well, It's one thing if we followed the plot of the game exactly, but another if similar things happen, but we put our own spin on it. Also, some people don't mind doing that. I wouldn't mind since the only "World saving" RP!Star has really been involved in is the AU (and the final boss for Almia)
Well, I linked to the plots index a while ago...

@Luke: That doesn't really apply.
Our plots aren't "Let's go through all the gyms and fight the E4, and also beat the local team."
If you've noticed, most of the Save [X] plots are more creative than that. Like the Ranger regions, and Unova (which admittedly included the Gym, but because people wanted to do the gyms).
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton! The basic plot may be the same, but tracking down an Eldritch Abomination or disabling a super weapon is considerably more interesting than going through the gyms or dissolving Team Rocket.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton! It seems to me what Luke's quote aims for is the one thing we can't seem to be able to escape, as Tagg says. And the name of it is Strictly Formula. Be the formula fight the Gym Leaders or avoid the Apocalypse Of The Week, the entire point is, we can't get away from it.
The quote also brings up a cost issue. If we haven't been able to come up with those plots in a decent manner that actually sees an end (points to the OI), perhaps we are not the best fit to try and bring up plots. The problem is, outside of the Strictly Formula issue, no one else is doing it.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Yeah, I agree with Silent here.
But the problem still boils down to "What now?" Do we just concede to this Strictly Formula thing, or do we try to mix things up?
I keep bringing up this idea for at least an Arc boss, and while it doesn't have to be a WHOLE arc, it can be at least part of it enough that the people who want to save the world and stuff can, and those who don't want to don't have to.
Again, The anti/nega/whatever J-team.
Like, They could be disillusioned trainers that feel like they're better than the J-team, or they Missed the Call, leading to their counterpart getting it, Or they could be outright clones, created by some new villain. The people who don't want in on this plot can at least ignore it, and just say that there wasn't a counter part for their character.
I'm all for that idea, Star.
Would the anti-J-team be outright villains, or competing to be the better hero (getting in the way at villain confrontations, accidentally messing up the J-team's plan for something, etc.)?
They could actually be both—kinda like Syndrome from The Incredibles, but without the sidekick aspect.

Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!

You only need two people to run the battle, though.
And you save the log and post it for everyone to see.
