IMHO, the best way to handle this without having to rush things would be to temporarily invoke whatever the trope is for "things are as they were by the end of the episode" (Snap Back or Negative Continuity). For the birthday party we are just somehow all out and celebrating, then we are back to the situation as it were. Many webcomics do stuff like that for special episodes, and no one loses.

I don't like that for one particular reason. If it was one day, I wouldn't have a problem. But DS' birthday, Mezzo's birthday, and Christmas are all in quick succession, meaning we'd be in and out for a whole week. I think finishing the "main" part of the mindscapes, and then finishing up other people's individually is the best plan.
Speaking of which, RP!Christmas should probably take 3-4 days, just so everyone has a chance to actually participate in it.

The thing Wolf, is, birthdays and Xmas (and then New Year, and Valentine's Day, and...) is that they are not right out one after another. We can just as easily "shift the mood" every two days in a controlled manner now that we have both Discussion and the chatroom. No plots will actually become "stopped", in particular not for long as one week.
And, Legendaries hiccuping and stuff, we don't really need to explain anything until afterwards.
...Except it is not shenaniganing — the birthdays are going to happen, and in real time. But since that follows a meta concern, I guess it is more fair to adjust the plot. I just wish this could have been planed better so that yet another plot wasn't rushed, as it causes so many problems. I mean, statistically speaking we have an RP'er's birthday or a holiday pretty much every week.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Well, depending on what my mother and I do on my birthday (probably nothing special, though), I might not even be here much on that day anyways. So, it might not matter that much to me if DS does miss her birthday or not. I know my dad will be visiting on my birthday anyways and be there for three hours like usual, but I'm not sure if anyone else will visit on my birthday. Wouldn't be too surprised if my old childhood friend and her mother stopped by later in the evening, though, as they usually come by.
I honestly don't know what we'll be doing on my birthday, or if we'll be spending it here at my house, or at my apartment. If we get other visitors other than my dad, we might spend it at the apartment... (Ugh, I hate not knowing how things are going to happen...)
Well, I'm willing to sacrifice DS' birthday for the sake of the plot.
RP!DS: Hey! What about my feelings? Isn't it bad enough that I won't be able to spend my birthday in Sinnoh with my parents, but now I'd have to be trapped inside my own mind during it?
Sorry, but the plot is important to me. Now, get back onto your side of the fourth wall before I have to send you back by force.
RP!DS: (sighs and walks back to her side of the fourth wall)
Anyways, while having them out in time for my birthday would be nice, I'm willing to have her miss it if is for the sake of the plot.
...I think my proposal has been more or less severely misunderstood... 😣
As I've loosely defined in my last post, Casval's lost (again). Also, Wally, Narrator and Nightingale are just sitting by until we're done with the first half of the mindscape. Artesia's going around doing Contests, so I'm kinda done with all I can do for now. At this point, trying to get a recap in the chat's a [Redacted] and I dislike using OOC posts to ask, so I'll just fade into obscurity until we're up to DS's birthday/Mezzo's birthday/Christmas (Whichever one we're doing next). Just post here as I'll still be on the forums or tell me if I should chance onto the chat when I'm needed (preferrably in advance) and I'm find someway or simply BS being there.
There is no night without dawn. The sun is always sure to rise.Well, uhm... I don't know of a sweetcoated way of saying this, but...
The last days in the chatroom have sucked. Hard. And the issues born there have serious enough. Heck, we could have scared a new member away from the RP people.
So, in the interest of avoiding the heavier chatroom drama in the roleplay chatroom, another one has been created for us to vent and squeeze Azurrill stress balls and hug each other and provide virtual emotional support. Won't post the details here, us members can go into the normal chatroom and ask anyway. Those logs won't be public at the moment, due to the expected sensibility of the conversations, until Tangent and I figure out how to make something usable happen.
On another issue, and precisely as a result of the discussion originated in the chatroom, there will be some changes in the RP that I will now announce and that are more or less an emergency consensus reached after a pretty heated point.
Base of the issue is, Luke wanted to get rid of some characters, Ret-Gone them not only from the RP but also from meta, which could have caused quite some issues from a TV Tropes perspective. Since the premise was to avoid those characters from having any more representation in the RP, some measures will be taken. Also, taking advantage from this situation, some measures to sort out the Characters page somewhat will be taken.
- First of all, those characters will not be mentioned by Luke anylonger, and should not be mentioned to Luke's character or, if possible, in any context that requires his interaction. From his internal, in-character perspective they should be Put on a Bus leaning towards Ret-Gone.
- Mentioning the characters is still acceptable in other contexts, in particular in those that are unavoidable (eg.: mentioning them when talking about an event they were part of). Just try to exercise common sense and not cause unnecessary tension by ignoring the above constraints.
- The characters were removed from the Characters Page. Instead, they will be moved to a new page We Are All Pokemon Trainers Retired.
- Taking advantage of the creation of that new page, retired characters will be moved to that page. That includes, at the moment: A, Jane, Luke's mons of issue, some of Silent's mons and... whatever else I'm forgetting. That page will be linked to from the normal Characters page.
- Removing references Luke's mons of issue from the Main (Roleplay) page should not be accepted, at risk of entering edit wars. We authors are supposed to not have more weight than any other troper on those pages, and even if the characters are retgoned, even that would fit a trope that goes on the page.
- Instructions on who the mons of issue are and what is their (meta) situation will be added to the UND, so that, for example, we can warn new players about stuff to avoid.
Now, before anyone complains that this situation is being given too much operational weight, two things to consider: the original plan was much heavier than this and was intended to originate changes even to the meta layer of the RP - it was essentially "these characters never existed, period"; second, at this point we already lost one player to discussions, apparently, so let's avoid losing another if we can reach middle grounds.
Also, on that very issue, I repeat what I have stated before — we seem to be, socially speaking, not ready to have a chatroom. Ironically, now that means we have two. Oh well, if it helps...
Changes to the Characters Page and the creation of the new page, plus edition of the UND, will be carried out tomorrow (Wed).

Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google? So, current plans:
- we are out of the mindscape, and will likely have Christmas Shennanigans about now. (I think we talked about AU selves having a considerably less virus-infested party at PEFE? And obviously Mezzo and DS need makeup parties, and Pent has to give out his gifts...)
- people who have Mindscapes left will do them at night; they may have random spells of particular aspects solo-controlling their body, similar to the autopiloting that happened during the comas.
- we need to plan the Aqua/Magma stuff; at least for now they are starting to accuse each other of causing the increasingly weird weather, not sure when we get wind of Charon yet though.

Probably. All you'd have to do in-story is ask Tagg to send you in.
