I don't know about plain skipping, since that's a massive distance to skip, but some suggestions that should hopefully kick up the pace significantly and let us get to Fallarbor within, two? weeks:
- No waiting on other people's gym battles. We do them in parallel, as though any other battles at that Gym were not happening.
- You have a gym battle, don't expect somebody else to be able to run it. Either:
- Run it yourself, and be lively about it
- Take on the gym in a buddy system fashion. Alice runs the gym leader for Bob at the same time that Bob runs the gym leader for Alice
Also, as a general rule, apart from Fallarbor, I am keeping no secret master plan concerning Aqua and Magma. I was frankly not expecting to be taking as much point running it as I have already. Things will go faster if other people can help out. Ideas for the endgame* and gluing it to the development would help.
As for your stuff, Crewe... sorry I couldn't talk it out properly tonight, hoping to see you tomorrow. Won't be trying to talk you out of giving up your mons or anything, just want to confirm it's handled in a satisfactory way. I recall two options you brought up concerning it in my log binge, will like to examine them in private.
EDIT: Would it be reasonable to aim to be, arbitrarily, in Slateport by Thursday, Mauvile by the 4th, Fallarbor by the 10th?

Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Well, after much musing on my part over the past couple months and a talk in the chatroom, we (as in the PEFEers) feel kind of lonely and would like to know why is it that so many plots we make tend to be bereft of any non-PEFEers joining in. I guess we just feel kind of segregated from everyone else due to that.
Any thoughts?

Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite.Tangent: I look forward to it. Though Fallarbor by the 10th leaves 15 days for Reveal/Mindscape. Well, I guess I don't have to actually be around for any but my own Mindscape and the kickoff, so I guess that works.
Tagg: Well, there are a couple of reasons, at least for me.
- One, it always seems that you guys want to do everything by yourselves, because most of what you do, you do with the other PEF Eers.
- Two, the majority of you make MASSIVE posts, and I don't want to get into an arc that requires me to actually read through them. This is also why I haven't interacted with Luke or Tracer since the GC. Actually, I don't think I've ever interacted with Tracer, but yeah.
- Three, well, this one is more just me, but I don't like joining other subplots in general. I always feel like I'm imposing on other people's plans.
Well, weirdly I don't feel segregated by the issue, but it's just perhaps that it is overriden by my feeling segregated because of pacing.
On the subject of references and shout outs, we tend to go kinda heavy on that, yeah. but I don't see it as either a PEFEers exclusive one (We Can All Reference Stuff), or a high barrier of entry — heck, when we started the Portal subarc, I only had passing knowledge about the game; in fact I got most of my posts with turrets wrong (and with not enough cuteness overload).
On Hoenn: First, I'm gonna repeat that I don't see why we can't travel from town to town more or less according to what we need. It's not like we don't have the HMs, and visiting a town once doesn't mean we can not return later — there's never been a Point of No Return town in Pokémon. Second, I might be able to discuss possible stuff that leads to the endgames, I stand by my proposals of TA/TM being used as extremist scapegoats to promote Space Exploration. However that looks like quite out of Charon's methode, unless we go ahead and put someone else on the mastermind slot as well (Charon simply doesn't strike me as a widescope planner. At all.).
And I'm sorry that your Pokémon have to leave, Crewe. I feel part of it is my fault.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?I'll take them, Crewe. That is, Wolf will. Both Katie and Wolf would want to be there for the Reveal, so they'll be available right away, and I don't like the idea of the teammates you tried so hard to keep together getting split up. So Steven will adopt Dana, Katie will take the rest of the kids (Nova, Aurelia, and Amberjack, I think), and Wolf will adopt the rest for you.
Right.
Okay, so as Tangent and I finish up with the final touches on Reveal planning, I'd like to ask:
Who explicitly wants to be there? Even if you don't say you're welcome to show up, but I'd like to know if you really want to be there when it happens.
Obviously Gamer tops the list.
And secondly: Who wants to take part in the Stuck In The Mindscape arc?
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!I'd like to be around for both things, though I think I'll probably end up showing my Mindscape close to last if not outright the last since I wanted to play a Voice with an Internet Connection role for most of it.
Hugging a Vanillite will give you frostbite.I'd love to be able to be in for the reveal, but knowing my pacing, I don't count on that happening. Can't really speak much about the mindscape since I had not remembered much about what had we planned for it.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Okay, so lists:
- Definitely Reveal
- Gamer
- Wolf & co.
- Rex
- Mezzo
- Straw
- DS
- Every
- Tagg
- Meddler
- Probably Reveal
- Star
- Anom
- Silent
- Definitely Mindscape
- Star
- Mezzo
- Straw
- DS
- Anom
- Every
- Probably Mindscape
- Wolf & Co.
- Tagg
Wolf, only one issue: since the whole point is that we can't get out of the Mindscape until we get through the whole thing, only popping in for a few may be difficult, unless it's the last few.
Tagg: I don't see a problem with that. You can join in any time you want.

Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!

Okay, so.
Because we're moving at an agonizing snail pace, the intended spot for The Reveal (Fallarbor) probably won't be reached for a looong while, likely mid to late December if we go in game order. This is a problem, because I'm going to be away from computers for a while starting around Christmas. So The Reveal and Mindscape have to either be over by Christmas or the day after, or postponed until sometime in January.
As a solution, everyone who wants to take part in the Mindscape/The Reveal can skip ahead to Fallarbor.
Victory! Honor! Destiny! Mutton!
