I'm willing to have Mitchell be victimized by this "Pavo" character. He'd be an easy enough mark, I believe.

-Xaster

-Daisuke

-Mitchell

-Maybe Zeal and/or JG here?

-Kai

-Pent

Does this look good? Did I forget anyone?

So I've been slowly trying to work up some nerve and motive to start working on post stuff again. Currently on my brain is that I want to try and adapt a sort of Super Metroid Media Arc, I've been going over the considerations and I should be able to make sure it's sufficiently pokemony.

Current plan is Roxy in her powersuit with a team exploring the Jovian Moon Callisto and the ruins covering it.

My current concerns are this for what I want to do.

  • Covering ancient ruins for the Metroidvania exploration.
  • What will be our Ridley analogue.
  • What's the Macguffin that sends my characters off on exploration of an alien world.

I've had a few ideas on how to make the Ridley, but I am not opposed to other suggestions. If anyone has anything they wanna add or suggest, just let me know. I am looking for help to make this all very tightly plotted.

an idea I've been sitting on for... a bit more than a year

Name: Livia Gorman

Hunter alias: Lapis

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Appearance: A bit on the short side of average. She has long straight dark brown hair, dark brown eyes and a bit of a tan from her time living in Hoenn.

In her civilian wear she wears a loose blue sweater, jeans and dark blue loafers. She also often wears blue rimmed sunglasses, even while inside for some reason. Usually her hair is tied in a loose ponytail. While out and about in colder weather she wears a scarf.

As Lapis, she does her hair up in a bun to keep it out of the way. She wears a blue coat with a hood and a very short blue “skirt” segment underneath a black utility belt. She also wears black leggings, blue boots, black gloves and a black visor.

Organizational ties: Hunter’s guild

Hometown: Originally from Lilycove, currently lives in Mistralton

Bio: As far as anyone is concerned, Livia is a fairly eccentric and socially awkward artist. She and her team moved to Mistralton from Hoenn a year or two ago and set up shop in a warehouse. Her Alolan Sandslash had a talent for sculpting and she had a knack for designing them. They make ends meet by selling the sculptures they create. They also take commissions for custom sculptures.

Of course, then there’s her “special commissions”. The real money is made with the “ultra realistic pokemon statues” she sells. Sometimes these are ones she has obtained herself as the pokemon hunter Lapis, other times she’s helping someone without such a convenient front to pass off their sales as more legitimate.

Livia was born and raised in Hoenn, under a different name that may be familiar to some. She grew up with a twin sister who was more extroverted than her who helped Livia come out of her shell more. The two were able to make auric constructs, although Livia’s were more advanced than her sister’s because she practiced more. The two could also communicate via telepathy, though only with each other. When the two were teenagers they turned to a life of crime. Her sister craved the thrills that came with it, while Livia was looking for infamy. She was going to become a master thief someday. One the world would fear, but never know the identity of.

However, her sister’s preference of doing something exciting often got in the way of a successful heist. This culminated in Livia finally deciding to abandon her and flee Hoenn after some superheroes broke into their base to rescue a delta Chimecho they’d stolen. She fled to Unova, crafted her Livia identity and took some of her and her sister’s ill gotten gains to move to Mistralton and start her sculpture business. At some point down the line she became a member of the hunter’s guild.

Livia is a quiet schemer who spends a long time planning her moves before making them. She is an ambitious individual who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals. She lost her collection of newspaper clippings detailing her and her sister’s various criminal exploits when she fled Hoenn, but she’s working on a new collection. She only uses blue pokemon, partly because everyone in her old family seemed to have color themed teams, but also because it’s something people can remember her by. She has some acrobatic and juggling skills from when she and her sister used to street perform. She hopes to be able to avoid her sister, since the whole twin telepathy thing would probably give her old identity away immediately and she’s assuming her twin isn’t too happy about all the money she took from her.

Name: Slate

Gender: Male

Species: Sandslash (Alolan)

Ability: Snow cloak

Bio: Slate was a birthday present from a Pokemon breeder. He is the main creator of their normal sculptures. He prides himself on his art and while he’s kind of disappointed about the whole hunter thing, he’s happy with the fact that he can now share his sculpting prowess with the rest of the world.

Name: Linna

Gender: Female

Species: Jumpluff

Ability: Leaf Guard

Bio: Linna is a bit of a science nerd and loves to experiment. In battle she loves to mess with her opponents with various status conditions and observe what happens when you combine different effect powders. She finds the new pokemon hunter stuff fairly interesting and wishes she could find out more about how some of the tech works.

Name: Shyam Gender: Male Species: Malamar Ability: Contrary Bio: Shyam is awkward around people, preferring to observe from a distance. Being a Malamar, he has highly potent hypnotic abilities. He is a bit of a prankster and loves to mess with people using telepathy and hypnosis. He has mixed feelings about being part of a pokemon hunter’s team now. On one hand, there are more opportunities to mess with people. On the other hand, they are hunting other pokemon and smuggling them around. They decided to stick around and get involved to see what happens next.

Name: Mina

Gender: Female

Species: Altaria

Ability: Natural Cure

Bio: The team’s primary getaway flier. She isn’t the fastest but has great stamina and can keep going for hours before needing a rest. She is quite competitive and works hard to outdo herself. She sees hunter’s guild jobs as more of a challenge than anything else. The one thing is she absolutely hates getting wet and finds it almost impossible to fly with soggy wings.

Name: Stonewash

Gender: Male

Species: Tirtouga

Ability: Solid Rock

Bio: One day while Slate was hammering away at a rock he was sculpting he found a cover fossil inside. Livia decided to have it revived and join the team. Stonewash is grateful for his new lease of life and is quite loyal to Livia. He acts primarily as the team’s water based getaway and the one who takes hits. Being fairly new to this time period, he’s pretty much convinced that the work he and Livia do for the hunter’s guild is just a normal thing that people do.

He is loyal to the School, and is uncaring of the fact that they could and would destroy him for any failure. He says that the knowledge that he could die at any time gives him a rush that makes him feel alive.

Carbink: Become Princess

Alright, so I have a question regarding the Pokémon "Carbink". I know they can be caught without problem IRP. I also know that according to Diancie's Pokédex Entry, there is a rare occurrence in which Carbink can mutate into Diancie.

Therein lies my question: What would happen if, some time after a Carbink is caught, it suddenly ascends to princesshood and mutates into Diancie while it is still in the party? Would permission be needed to keep the Carbink-that-is-now-a-Princess in the party or would that not be allowed?

I think the question with that is less "would they be allowed to be stay in the player's party" so much as "should a player's Carbink be able to become a Diancie in the first place" given the Legendary Clause is more an out of universe rule than an in universe one

There's a difference between "Should any Carbink be able to become Diancie" which it sounds like the answer is "it seems like it's lore but might or might not have come up in the RP before", so much as "should a player character's Carbink be able to become a Diancie" in which case my answer is "I would probably object to that, though it would depend on what sort of story you wanted to tell with that and how much I trusted you to be able to handle that"

A Pretty Major Post In the Wake of Kim's Galar Arc Conclusion

So... as of today, Kimberly Bond's Galar Arc has concluded.

I've been planning the next steps in Kim's journey afterwards for a while now, and one major event and its ramifications still has yet to recieve a formal conclusion on what should be done next. It's very important, as not only will it serve as a crucial step in Kim's character development, but it will also be a major discovery that affects the world at large.

That discovery, of course, is the discovery of tons of info about the UBese language and, more importantly, the discovery of a standardized version of the language. The ultimate intent is that Kim writes about her findings in papers that she then makes public in blog posts, and then puts her findings into a book that she then publishes. This is the reason she is at J-Con.

The last time I asked how people felt about this, I didn't get much response beyond "it depends on how much it's enforced". Additionally, if this goes through, the intent is that everything about it will be canonized. As such, I decided to make this D!Post so as to describe what Kim will find out if this goes through, and answer any questions people may have about the language.

What will Kim find out?

Among the things I intend to have Kim discover:

- UBese is a 26-letter alphabet, with 21 consonant sounds and 9 vowel sounds.

- There are two main dialects of the language: Standard UBese and English Cipherian UBese, or ECU.

- Standard UBese, mainly spoken between Ultra Beasts, is the main language, and is the 21 consonant, 9 vowel sound alphabet mentioned earlier. It is a full-blown conlang, with words taking influence from many, many languages, and contains many different sounds, among them the Welsh "ll", the Nahuatl "tl", a bilabial trill (that puttering lip noise you make when you're cold), a glottal stop, and numerous clicks.

- ECU is the dialect of UBese mainly spoken between humans and Ultra Beasts, and is the version of UBese with Mezzo’s cipher alphabet translating to English text. All words are in English and mean the same thing as their English counterparts, but rather than being pronounced as a full word, the words are pronounced one sound at a time, with each letter corresponding to exactly one sound (among them the bilabial trill, the Welsh "ll", and some of the clicks). To understand this, imagine if we pronounced “dog" as "duh"-"aw”-“guh” (“d" as in “dog", "o" as in "opera", “g” as in "gravy”), with clipped pauses between each sound. That's what ECU is.

What will be canonized?

If everyone here is okay with this, the following will become canon:

- {Anything in brackets before this was translated Standard UBese.}

- Anything written in Mezzo's cipher that translates to English text before this was ECU.

- Everything mentioned above becomes the standard for UBese. The intent is "this is how the language has always been; we just never understood it or had a general idea of how it works until Kim came around."

- Mezzo's cipher becomes the standard UBese alphabet.

- The idea of foreign words being treated akin to Japanese katakana, as proposed by The Absent Coder and more or less agreed on by Umbra, will become canon.

Wait, so does this mean I need to learn a whole conlang to write UBese?

NO.

Unless you absolutely, 100% want to, you do not need to learn the entire UBese conlang. I still haven't fleshed out or fully learned my own conlang :P

It's the whole reason ECU exists, in fact.

On top of that, as with any language, UBese will continue to evolve as more discoveries are made. The grammar has not yet been fully fleshed out, for instance.

Wait, I still have my own headcanons about UBese!

That's perfectly OK! It's why I decided to make this a D!Post in the first place, to make sure that those that do have other headcanons about UBese are okay with this— and have their ideas heard. Your headcanon could easily become a new UBese dialect, or even make it in as a feature of the main thing.

Suggestions for the language are absolutely welcome, and I'd love to hear any headcanons of your own you may have!

Thoughts?

So what do you think? Any questions? How do you feel about a standardized and canonized UBese? Let me know! If you have any mixed thoughts about the plan, what do you suggest Kim do instead in her quest to blaze her own trail as a J-Teamer?

Any and all thoughts are appreciated!

RE: Ubese

One small nitpick re: ECU. As a term, it should be replaced in-universe with "Galarian," the post SwSh-analogous name for what would be the English language unless it's referring to the English we players use rather than to the Galarian the characters would know (i.e. it's an out of universe term meant for -our- convenience). I recommend replacing it with GCU (fitting as the letters rhyme) if it's meant to be an in-universe thing or some variation of the term depending on what language the the player is meant to be speaking. Or just CU if it's meant to stand in for any human language.

We can handwave individual headcanons the same way we do with the Monese language, assume a mutually intelligible dialectal difference. It won't stop individual Ultra Beasts from communicating, but the difference in the two will be noticeable enough to indicate a cultural gulf. This would put "Standard" Ubese in a tight spot depending on how it's handled.

In modern human languages, the "standard" is pretty much set in place artificially by a institute of some sort (at least that's the case with French and my own language, Tagalog). What you might be looking at instead is a Koine language, a mixed dialect that emerged from divergent cultures speaking technically the same language and is used to communicate between them. The Ultra Beasts talk in mix of Ubese registers that are collectively known as "standard" to humans to talk amongst other Ultra Beast cultures, but would default to their own dialect when speaking amongst themselves.

UBese

Alright, after talking to a bunch of people and getting their thoughts on what I should do, I came up with another idea.

My new plan now is more akin to how Monese works, where every Ultra Beast gets their own distinct dialect or language, but all of the Ultra Beasts together have a common "de facto" Koine dialect that is a combo of all of them. The details of the Koine dialect, however, are currently unknown.

As for the seperate dialects, I decided that the closer to humans the mon is (i.e. the more they've interacted with them), the more humanlike their language will be.

Poipole and Naganadel, for instance, are starter Pokemon in Ultra Megapolis, so their main dialect (especially for those from Ultra Megapolis) will be that 21-consonant, 9-vowel conlang that I mentioned. This is the form of UBese that is the starting point for Kimberly Bond's research and is also the one that will be the most studied (and the one that Volume 1 of the UBese book at J-Con will be about).

The other two Ultra Beasts that I think should be able to speak languages based on human ones (although the details of those are currently unknown) are Kartana and Nihilego, as the former speaks backwards English/Japanese in the anime (implying that it can make humanlike sounds as a result) and it also would explain why Caliburn's true name and Hasslemon handle were both able to be easily pronounced by humans. Nihilego, meanwhile, has canonically fused with Lusamine, though I'd assume based on Exgal's existance that its main dialect would be more abstract while still being able to be something humans could understand... eventually (akin to something like Silbo).

As for all the other Ultra Beasts, their dialects/languages would likely be far more abstract and as a result, far less understood and less researched about. The plan in my head right now is that they would all use distinct dialects of CU containing non-phonetic sounds, though the details of those dialects of UBese would probably remain unknown.

I've already talked to some people about the Poipole aspect of this plan specifically, and they all seemed to like it; any other thoughts as to if this works better?

If the paragraph about how Pokemon speech works was influenced by when we talked... admittedly I want to note that while I do like "Pokemon aren't necessarily going to be making the same sounds yet they all still have a way to communicate that can be classified as Monese", that's still how I see Pokemon Language working and not necessarily everyone in WAAPT is gonna agree with it.

I will say I do like the base idea of "This is an Ultra Megalopolis Poipole-line Language" as the means for the conlang but just want to note that... if you put it in the RP I feel like you should have it be more like "this is how I personally like to interpret it, other people do not necessarily have to hold to the specifics of how this works but are still free to use it." Like with Exgal, Mezzo did the cipher but it didn't necessarily end up how Nihilego in general talked but it is like, in theory free for people who like that way of U Bs talking to do.

In general, I think I like the base concept but the statements of "this is how the fundamentals of X work" don't go as well for me in an RP where some people follow this kind of thing, others don't, whether they don't want to or prefer their own way of doing things. If this works, it should be A way, not The way.

And Now, a (mini) arc pitch

It's been a couple of months now and we've yet to touch Legends Arceus, in part due to the RP kinda slowing down these days and due to the need to avoid unfortunate implications. Before my time here, WAAPT already did a long-term arc set in a past era, but things are a bit different with the Sengoku period. Now, historical settings are my jam but I understand that not everybody has the same level of comfort in depicting it.

And then it hit me: instead of bringing the J-Team to Hisui, why don't we bring some of the villains of Hisui to the present day and have the J-Team beat them back? Rather than Hisui being the main destination, the plot will instead revolve around the space-time distortions and how to keep them from falling into the wrong hands.

The core pitch is this: two of Umbra's Galarian descendants, the Knight siblings, who coincidentally share Gale's fake surname, discover the time-space distortions, and make plots about using it to enlarge their wealth and prestige by importing modern technology and other things?

Instead of a full arc, this'll instead be a series of raids involving J-Teamers who end up encountering the Knights. Due to the nature of the distortions (which I am presuming are largely temporary, come and go structures), long-term stays in the 19th Century are ill-advised and must be discussed if you really want to dump a character there until they can be rescued or escape. The Knights will also be preoccupied with trying to open the rifts themselves, which may put time travelers on their hit list.

A mini arc like this will also provide a means for trainers to capture Hisuian mons regardless of personal headcanon and a means to have them return to the present.

You can find out more about the pitch and contribute comments and specifics on the Google Doc.

New templar

Name: Chase II the Courier

Age: Unknown, appears somewhere in their early 20s

Organizational Ties: The school, templars

Hometown: somewhere in Galar

Appearance: Tall, pale and looks kind of like a twig from a distance. Straight, medium length black hair tied up in a short ponytail. Typical bright purple eyes. Wears a shirt, long hooded jacket, jeans and sneakers, all of them black.

Personality: Need genetic supplies transported instantly from the next city? Urgently need a templar who’s currently regions away? Need to transport someone from one facility to another with no risk of interception or escape? Chase II the courier is your guy!

Chase tries his hardest to prove himself to the people who created them. Maybe then, they’ll finally let him go out and capture or even kill someone! To this end, he does his best to hide any sort of problem or weakness he might be showing. However, long distance teleportation is hungry work, so Chase developed a taste for fast food and other good stodgy things. He often needs to obtain these things by stealing from local restaurants.

Backstory: Chase II was created sometime before the Freshman class, as an improvement to their predecessor, Chase I. They were created with highly potent teleportation abilities, to be used to transport goods and personnel long distances instantly. They also appeared to develop a range of other abilities to an unexpectedly high level shortly after their creation. All of these have made them very competent at their job, however their attitude leaves much to be desired. They have been found stealing from various fast food restaurants between jobs, and constantly ask the staff if they can capture or assassinate someone for once. Attempts have been made to create a suitable replacement, but Chase III lacked the additional powers, despite having a near-identical genetic template. Chase IV possessed minor space distortion abilities thanks to knowledge gained from the Freshman class. Unfortunately, they did not survive due to an unnoticed error in the creation process. So far, Chase V appears to be far more stable, possessing the same abilities as Chase IV. They are set to replace Chase II soon, and Chase II is not to be notified of this under any circumstances.

Bio: Micro, as his name suggests, is unusually small for an Espurr, being about half the average size of one. Chase found him shortly after being created. He usually lives in the hood of Chase’s jacket, and is the true source of most of their non-teleportation abilities. Micro is pretty chill but is secretly rather lonely from having to hide constantly. He also loves pokeblocks. To stay small enough to hide effectively, he refuses to evolve.

Name: Shelf

Species: Avalugg

Gender: Female

Ability: Ice Body

Bio: Shelf is Chase’s “only pokemon”. She helps Chase transport items by carrying them on her back. It’s unknown how long she’s been around for but it’s been a long while. There is very little that can get more than an <oh no not again> out of her these days.

New templar but better

Name: Chase V the (New and Improved™) Courier

Age: Unknown, appears somewhere in their early 20s

Organizational Ties: The school, templars

Hometown: somewhere in Galar

Appearance: Tall and thin with pale-ish skin, purple eyes and dark blue hair. Clothing varies depending on the circumstances, but always includes as many pockets as possible. He also has a backpack and a dramatic flowing scarf.

Personality: Eager to please. Tries to act cold and serious, but veers into edgelord territory more often than not. Has a flair for the dramatic and a large collection of bladed objects in their bag.

Backstory: Created thanks to a rare combined effort from two rival scientists, Chase V is the latest version of the courier templar. Issues from the previous versions like problematic attitude, lack of secondary powers and normal sized pockets have been ironed out to create an ideal transporter. Using their minor space distorting abilities, they can store almost everything inside small pocket dimensions inside pockets or bags. Storing everything on a single person also makes teleportation more efficient, cutting down on food costs and restaurant robbery incidents. They were also created with some telekinesis in mind, so they can easily take things in and out of their pockets. As a direct upgrade to Chase II, they are set to replace them as soon as they are ready.

Name: Malware

Species: Porygon-Z

Ability: Download

Bio: Being able to store nearly everything on their person, Chase V had the freedom to use a more offense-focused pokemon. The dimension traveling abilities of Porygon-Z were a bonus too. Malware is usually pretty erratic, but is competent at attacking anything they’re pointed at. While they’re not doing that they can often be found rearranging the items in Chase V’s pockets.

1: Tactics

Interest has been expressed in a full-scale School raid on the J-Team! What we've lacked (in addition to time, broadly u_u) is a reason to go ahead and do so—and one, eventually, came to mind.

(From a personal standpoint, though this is not necessary to know for the broad concept, a School-affiliated Schoolkid of mine has been officially tasked with dismantling the J-Team as a refuge for runaways for some time now, and there's a Truth-associated genome target she's repeatedly framed for murder, including of those the School itself killed. 😛)

(He cannot lie, but to this point has been stuck in an informational standoff—if he reveals the School's activities, done wrong, it more likely than not will lead to a witch hunt of anyone anyone knows or suspects to be Psychic...as well as anyone with purple eyes. -_- For an effect the School as an institution has tremendous amounts of experience stymying, over the course of its run. The reverse could be said to be true—if they discredit him without killing him, the situation stands less to lose from him using his supernatural truth powers to fight their supernatural lies.)

Long story short, they decide it's worth the risk, and the cost. Long story short, he brings the spotlight to them.

...and long story short, apparently in that situation he'd go a big step further.

Hiro is intimately aware that the School preys on those society would not miss. Kicked out of home because your parents don't like that you're Psychic? If the School takes advantage...you will not be looked-for. Similar could be said of their own runaways, and of those they discredit, to some extent—and on and on. Historically, he has fought them, and people have been hurt. And the School hardly cares.

So he declares the Stormchaser free and open to anyone—regardless of reason—in need of food, shelter, or safety. It is, hypothetically, a better protection than anything society or any lone hero could offer—and he is tired of fighting. The combination of attention brought to the School's activities and sanctuary offered explicitly against the danger it poses might, if you allow, be enough to provoke full assault. :p

(Side ideas include: going out and escorting people to the safety of the Stormchaser before the School can intercept them en route, preparing accommodations for many skittish, hungry folk in the Stormchaser's infinite halls, dealing with an airship under siege—and on and on)

But on a broad scale...

2: Strategy

One thing I've considered is how to (1) advance the broader themes of the arc, while (2) tying this, as all things, closer to the central conceit of the RP. I've toyed with the thought of my more systematic characters developing support networks—safe houses, security measures, wards both supernatural and technological—to support runaways or refugees, but always stumbled across this:

- They, as part of the J-Team, are high-profile individuals under watch, and their methods and full list of contacts have been thoroughly mapped by means of psionic intrusion.

- The School has immensely more resources than them, more organization, and individually more power than any one ally they could name.

- It only takes one psychic subversion to out the whole network, and turn exposed sections into a honey-trap for anyone on the run. Learn from IT: if someone wants to get in, they will eventually, and after that point all you have is damage control. With these lives, that's unacceptable.

But then it occurred to me: what would be the single broadest, most significant force here aiding someone lost and alone in the woods? What does the School overlook—not out of carelessness in a brutal system now rote, but as a matter of their core ideology? What do they betray? What would delight me, specifically, as a development here?

Friends and foes, this is a world where thermodynamics-shattering wildlife pack-bonds so strongly to humanity that your average ten-year-old can set off alone in the world without fear. If denying access to Pokémon is a vector by which abuse perpetuates, the Pokémon themselves are—must be—a beacon of hope to someone escaping even a mundane bad situation. And they are everywhere.

The thing is—the School has hiding its tracks down to a (characteristically cruel) science. When a witness can't trust their own memory, fabricating cause and effect become trivial. And the threat of that is their stock in trade as much as the character assassination (and regular assassination) itself. But again, the key is that their eye is not as absolute as they claim.

In all their subterfuge, when people disappear—when evidence burns or is overwritten—you cannot tell me every Schoolagent has always remembered to wipe or kill every Pokémon in the immediate area, their targets' or no—they're everywhere.

Because after all, who would believe them?

What is one Pokémon worth?

When a revolution centers around a charismatic face or dogged group, it can be tracked. When the contents of a mind are open to them, it can be subverted with ease. But when it rises, organic, from an entire demographic they cast aside as irrelevant—they can't engineer that away. There's no one they can threaten or coerce or kill that will make the rest stop and listen—and if they fall, finally, because the world is kind and its memory is long, then all the better. They discarded people, and someone cares. Here, maybe, that can be enough.

Not even they can kill truth forever.

3 The Personal

What if they killed Reshiram?

No mind to think. No will to break.

I love shaking up the status quo.

However — and I don't have enough time to devote to really going in depth with the rest of the post, I'll dig deeper later — is the Reshiram thing their intent (or Hiro's understanding of their intent), or is it something that happens, with or without a plotline to undo it?

I am very much in favor of the latter, it's a level of Legendary fuckery we haven't really gotten since early early WAAPT and I think we sometimes forget how off-the-wall this RP's origins are. Bringing Reshiram back from the dead after is obviously the safe option, but I also recognize the potential for a new White Dragon Of Truth to take its place.

Going off that idea, there's also the potential that — if we also went back to the idea that the current Unovan dragons are Resh/Zek The Second (and the originals had opposite Attributes), what if the new one is a Mind of Crystal?

I'm just spitballing, of course, but I like where this is going.

I'm personally not for killing off the current Reshiram, but If we DO kill off the current Reshiram, I'd prefer another Reshiram rake their place and not some fakemon Dragon Of Truth. After all it IS proven the Tao dragons can make more of themselves and this would be a good situation to do it. :P

But again, I'm not really keen about killing off a major public domain character like that, though resurrection or to a lesser extent replacement softens my position a decent bit.

The general idea of School raid stuff I am fine with. Sounds fun, hopefully I'm ready to come back in time to make it.

Okay so mostly talking on the 3rd point because not currently active but I guess here's how I feel about that and the sort of questions I want to ask:

  • If the point of this is to kill Reshiram and have either Reshiram not get revived or no new Reshiram take their place I am thoroughly against this

  • Given that, what story beats would be narratively filled specifically by killing off a legendary that could not be filled with like, grievously injuring them?

  • I remember a discussion before last time we gave someone an okay to have a major character of theirs die 3-4 months ago that this wouldn't be part of some trend or tonal shift. In the context of That, does that start to Make this a trend/tonal shift or no?
