Backstory:

The schoolkid slated as #85—"Astatine"—was deemed a failure. The plans to build a being who can disembody themselves mentally was written of as unfeasible. Nothing is known of the project since it was later shelved, only that a body was allegedly produced in the process. They moved on quite fast from there.

However, they succeeded. Ghost pokémon didn't need a physical body to have psychic powers, and neither did Astatine. Cutting it short, he's a disembodied human consciousness taking the form of electrical signals. He hops from computer to computer and his activities manifest as brief slowdowns in the School's computer networks they write off as expected everyday technical problems.

He can do more than just hop from computer to computer like a rotom, however. He is capable of projecting and hijacking minds and controlling individuals like puppets, much like Molybdenum does. Only he does it without a body.

Personality/Bio:

Once a lab rattata, Willard entered a tenuous agreement with the mystery voice talking to him in his head. He acts as the voice's "eyes," and the voice leads him to food, water, and escape routes while providing security. Apparently, no predator has tried to attack him ever since.

Forgot to announce it last night but the 2020-2021 Census is officially closed.

I'm going to be opening up signups soon, if nobody has any issue I will be starting the Arc somewhere around the 20th to 25th of October. If anyone has any issues or anything let me know, as stated in the pitch, signups will be small to help brevity of the Arc running. Don't let that stop you from hoping on in if you want.

Me, Finishing A Soloarc? It's way less likely than you think

I am...working on actually writing J-Dan posts and am seeking approval for Shaun taking in Orpheus's Type Null. It's gonna be a primary facet of the Shaun arc that follows the Orpheus fight, so it won't just be "Shaun picks up the ball and suddenly this tortured Chimera is an uwu smol bean", but I just want to make sure it's cool before I continue.

I'm good with it.

Insane Future School Plan (Ft. Dr. Azala)

So, I had a crazy idea a while ago, and I want some feedback on it.

Here's how it goes: Dr. Azala finally snaps and they become a true mad scientist, whose work with The School taught them enough about the genetic modifications that led to the creations of his Schoolkids and their special power sets: Nitrogen/Sophie, Krypton/Jordan Elliot, Gold/Aurelia and Radon, and seeks to create something that will allow the user to, in their words, "tap into the very essence of magic ITSELF!"

That something: A rainbow-colored necklace, not unlike the String of Beads from Ōkami, formed from 117 crystalline beads, which each bead containing a copy of the powers of a Freshman Class Schoolkid, allowing the wearer to access those very powers.

I know it sounds crazy... That's because it is... but I want to hear what you have to say about it.

I had an idea awhile ago involving the idea of things shifting between realities seemingly without cause. The proposal here is that the barriers of reality are still weakened from Team Mobius's skybreak, add in the frequent non-Entralink based dimensional hopping. These things take time to heal and it isn't just Earth that's needed to get fixed, it's the entire universe, including other universes.

The point of this proposal would be to allow a way for players to explore less traditional (but still pokemon focused) adventures in a lore friendly way without necessitating going to an entire other reality. That every so often something that does not belong in the OU just drifts in from the multiverse, allowing players a chance to have some fun with ideas.

Perhaps it's some ancient castle that's drifted into the woods of Galar, maybe it's an old bunker complex in Orre, perhaps a faller who was in the middle of a Pokemon Battle, heck could even be a satellite station in orbit from some other reality. The idea is to allow players a way to explore the unusual in a more self contained and acceptable way.

I have a few ideas on how to ensure consistency and prevent anything too lore breaking. First is that the bigger the break, the more likely it is to eventually vanish back to its reality, of course just right after the Player Characters escape from it. Another is that any segment inside a reality break should be marked in some way to ensure this is a outside regular canon activity, such as with a RB in the header.

I wish to refine the idea and am open to other suggestions.

OK, so like. As the guy who ran the Mobius thing. I don't mind some evoking or leftovers on them on occasion? But largely I want the book chronicling the larger multiverse breakage to stay mostly closed for now and like. We've had excuses to do the sort of thing you're asking for like. Forever?

So like, as an occasional, isolated "missed a spot" thing is prooooooooooooobably fine but ongoing consistent instability I'm more skeptical.

Oh I mean for it to be more an occasional rare missed spot! This is just to get some official documentation of the idea down so I'm held accountable for any ideas I do. I figured if it was something larger and consistent the people in universe would have acknowledged it at some point in the past few years.

I promise that this is just to get the idea out on paper and make it something that happens rarely, a missed spot that carries intrigue.

Then yeah you can use it as an Excuse, but it should be only one of many possible excuses, many of which already exist.

Future School Plan

Seems a little much— it could be a good idea for a final boss of an arc but there would need to be some kind of context for what's to come of it so it isn't just a thing that exists and will stick around.

Auric abilities aren't really magic per se— it's nothing different than a Pokemon can do, just weirdly specialized.

Walls of Reality

We do already have ultra wormholes, which were a known phenomenon prior to the entralink arc. As far as going past them in terms of multiversal oddity, now that the entralink arc is done my personal preference is in not seeing the themes of it recycled.

There's, uh, no easy way to say this, but I think I'm leaving the RP for good?

It's been a fun ride, but every time I sit down to read and write posts it feels less like something I do for fun and more like something I'm doing out of an obligation. I've enjoyed my years in the RP with you guys, but I've been doing a lot of soul-searching the last few days and I feel like started a fresh chapter in life.

To this end, I think I'll just be starting over completely with my online presence. No more TvTropes, Discord, Tumblr, AO3...I know it's drastic, but I feel like I need a clean slate to work from.

This decision was not prompted by anything anyone here did. Y'all have been great friends and writers and RPers, and I am gonna miss you. But I feel like it's the best thing I can do for myself.

Not sure if I want my characters to fade away, though. If anyone wants to take control of any of my characters, just DM me and I'll give you approval and any plans I had for them.

It's been real and it's been fun.

Backstory: Tina and Aurelia were decanted together as 78 and 79. They played together and discovered their light and lightning based powers at roughly the same time. However, Tina had a power set unique to her, in that she could utilize hypnosis weak enough to put people to sleep (which is just about all she could do with it). She could also unleash psychic waves that induced dizziness in those whom she perceived as a threat. The two of them got along very well. When the news got out about Aurelia's escape, Tina felt a sense of relief.

Personality: Tina is amiable to a degree. She is fond of pretty colors and pretty lights like her twin sister, Aurelia, but she also has a strong desire to not be liquidated as she fears her sister might be, so she hides her true feelings behind a facade of cynicism and sarcasm. Back To Sinnoh (Oh no! Back to Sinnoh again)

I wanted to get planning rolling for what I seem to have gotten people calling Neo Sinnoh. Me and Bitty have an idea for an inciting incident (I will leave it up to them if they want to elaborate or keep it secret) but also... When do we do it? What do we do there aside from Gym challenges? What is the overarching Plot (we seem to do better with those)? YOU DECIDE

What about that Sinnoh premake coming up?

There were talks about doing Conquest-y ancestor stuff with Legends Arceus BUT given that's a whole new Thing and not a redux of games from 15 years ago it's probably best if the spoilerblock for THAT is fully lifted before we do anything.

Neo Sinnoh

I know we've talked a bunch of times about an inciting incident being the J-Team getting word of a Sinnoh School base that needs toppling (And I'll put my hat in the ring for having Louise being the double agent who reveals that one), but on top of that as a sort of "encouraging the J-Team to actually leave Galar" type thing, I'd suggest:

You remember Percy and Chiyo's conversation about the School's reach into basically everything? I suggest that when the time comes we have the J-Team suddenly get these rather annoying (and likely bogus) notices that the Stormchaser's current parking spot is illegal, on top of numerous requests to inspect the vehicle (While IIRC the School lacks concrete proof that apart from known entities like Mason and Neon there's a whole bunch of School escapees inside, I'm sure they'd love any excuse to get their way inside).

As the J-Team and PEFE uses their legal people to fight this it's deemed better to head to Sinnoh for a while for reasons besides getting that base in order to prevent them from escalating to a Templar raid next.

(Whether they want to try attacking the Stormchaser while it's in international waters far from shore en route to Sinnoh is a whole other thing, however)

Legends

I'd agree that it's better to wait for the spoilerblock to lift before we really start planning for any Legends content.
